23.01.2022 APPOINTMENT OF MR LEON ZWIER, CHAIR-ELECT The Bradman Foundation would like to congratulate Mr Leon Zwier, who has been elected to succeed Mr Maurice Newman AC as Chair, in December. Zwier has a wealth of experience as a commercial lawyer - a partner at Arnold Bloch Leibler since 1991, and he has also been a director at the Bradman Foundation since December 2019. ... Mr Zwier will succeed Mr Maurice Newman AC, who has been a fine ambassador for the Foundation and the game of cricket more broadly in his role as Chairman for the last eight years. Describing the role as "one of the great highlights" of his distinguished career, we thank Mr Newman AC for his service, and we look forward to this new and exciting chapter for the Foundation. *** For more information on Mr Zwier's appointment as well as all the action at the Bradman Centre over the last month, check out our monthly newsletter in the link below http://createsend.com/t/y-83B0B37AF0184202

23.01.2022 *BAGGY GREEN BIOS* We continue our sneak preview of the Baggy Green exhibition with a pioneer of the game in Australia... #2 CHRISTINA MATTHEWS... Womens Test Player No: 100 Test Career: 1984-1995 Christina Matthews is the most capped Australian female Test player of all time having played 20 Tests. During her career she held the record for the most dismissals in a Test match (9), most dismissals in a Test series (19) and the aggregate number of dismissals for a wicket keeper (47). Due to womens cricket not being amalgamated to the Australian Cricket Board at the time, Matthews cap is adorned by the Commonwealth Coat of Arms instead of the Australian Cricket Coat of Arms. The crest on the Commonwealth Coat of Arms represents the six states of Australia, whereas the crest on the Australian Cricket Coat of Arms represents the four major industries of 19th century Australia and pre-dates the National emblem. *** Be sure to come and visit the exhibition when it opens on Friday 28th August; Museum open 7 Days.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to long-time friend of the Bradman Centre, Lisa Sthalekar on this fantastic achievement. A champion both on and off the field, this is so well deserved! Inducted to the ICC Hall of Fame alongside Jacques Kallis and Zaheer Abbas, it is wonderful to see the three players' contributions to the game recognised in the way.

21.01.2022 * BAGGY GREEN BIOS* Now that the Exhibition has officially launched at the Museum, we thought we would take a real throwback for our Saturday Baggy Green Bio... #3... Victor Thomas Trumper, 1877-1915 Test Player No: 79 Australias most romanticised Test batsman - tall, good-looking, of generous nature and a sublime athlete, Trumper scored most freely on the inconsistent, uncovered wickets of the day. An example of this was exhibited on a damp Old Trafford pitch in the 4th Test of the 1902 Ashes series. Opening the innings after Australia won the toss, Trumper became the first batsman to score a century before lunch on the first day of a Test match. This feat has only been achieved six times in the history of Test cricket. 19.01.2022 The Passion, Patriotism & Pride that is The Baggy Green Cricket occupies a unique place in Australian sport. It was the first national game and remains so after more than a hundred years. It is a game whose national side significantly predates the Australian teams of all other major codes and even the Federation of the Australian colonies. The Australian Test cap is colloquially called the baggy green, a term which has sometimes been applied to the team and to cricket in Au...stralia generally. So renowned was the baggy green that in 2003, when Roger Knight, in his role as the Marylebone Cricket Clubs (MCC) chief executive, announced a new relationship between the club and Albion, the maker of the baggy green cap, he said: We are delighted to be joining forces with a company of Albions calibre. Its baggy green is the most famous cricket cap in the world. Many people believe that the cap is so sacred an icon that it has never changed over the years. Again, this is not so; there have been many changes as you will now see:

14.01.2022 *BAGGY GREEN BIOS* The final in our series of Baggy Green Bios is here and it's a cracker... the Australian Men's coach, Justin Langer. If you want to come and check out the rest of the caps and the history at the Museum, we are open 7 days, so come on down, and be sure to tag us in your photos! #4... Justin Lee Langer Test Player No: 354 Test Career: 1993 to 2007 Rarely has Australia witnessed a player of greater passion, courage and determination than Justin Langer. During his career he scored 23 Test centuries and with Matthew Hayden was one of the greatest opening combinations of all time. Cap manufacturer Albion displayed the distribution of their caps to the Australian, South African and New Zealand Cricket Teams by marking those countries emblems on the caps interior. Langer blocked out the New Zealand and South African emblems and has written the first two lines of the Australian National Anthem inside his cap. For me, my baggy green cap symbolises all those challenges. The sweat, the dust, the blood, the celebrations, the pain, the sacrifices, the effort, the friendships and the lessons they are all stitched into that small piece of cloth. After 15 years of wear, my cap looks pretty tattered and torn, and it smells horrible. It has never been washed, for the same reason that a high-ranking martial artist will never wash his belt.
