23.01.2022 Well not the way I needed to spend the last few days on my back in Hospital. Currently waiting for a back operation for a L5/S1 discectomy scheduled for Monday. Look forward to keeping everyone updated on the recovery time once the operation is completed. Hope to be back out there in the forrest soon.
23.01.2022 TEAMS NEWS: Markovic Preparing for Big 2018 As WA rally driver Brad Markovic continues to recover from back surgery, he’s focusing on making 2018 his most successful year in the CAMS CAMS Australian Rally Championship yet. Right now, I’m concentrating on being in the best shape I can be and evaluating my options for next year, he said.... As a part of planning for 2018, Markovic will head to New South Wales for the Kennards Hire Rally Australia in two weeks. Markovic admits he’s gutted not to be competing in the event where, last year, he was the third fastest Australian in the FIA World Rally Championship section of the event and the first West Aussie home. I’m frustrated I can’t drive, but I’m heading to Rally Australia on a recce mission, he said. The plan is to speak with some of the international teams about different options and different cars. Markovic will also support Maximum Motorsport team mate John O’Dowd, who will compete in the ARC2 final in his absence. While 2017 has been a challenging year, Markovic is able to reflect on the positives of his first season with co-driver Toni Feaver. What we can take away from this year is that, when everything is running well, we can compete at the top level, he said. In April, Markovic and Feaver, claimed their first ARC podium when they finished third at the Make Smoking History Forest Rally in WA’s south-west. The pair also won two rounds of the CAMS Onslow Contracting WA Rally Championship. Toni and I work really well together and she’s as keen as I am to get back out competing, Markovic said. Markovic, who went under the knife in September to relieve long-term back pain, is set to take his rehab to the pool in the coming days and will continue working with his physio. It’s frustrating that my recovery has taken long than I hoped, but I’ve been told I need around three or four months to get there and it’s only been two so far, he said. Markovic and Feaver are set to make their competitive return when the 2018 ARC season gets underway next March. RallyWA.com Maximum Motorsport Pic: Drift Images - Gemma Lucas
22.01.2022 Looking forward to a great night out, perfect way to finish the weekend - can’t wait until Rally Australia 2018.
21.01.2022 Hey guys - here's our official team media release that's just gone out. MARKOVIC GOES UNDER THE KNIFE Brad Markovic is recovering from back surgery and will miss the penultimate rounds of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship and CAMS Onslow Contracting WA Rally Championship.... The WA driver has suffered from long-term back pain that was made worse when he fractured two vertebrae in WARC event, the Carringtons Safari Rally, three years ago. Unfortunately, I aggravated it again recently and ended up in such unbelievable pain that when I finally went to hospital and had the MRI, the disc had compressed the nerves so much, immediate surgery was the only option, Markovic said. I tried to bargain with the doctors to just give me some injections in the disc to get me through the next three months, but they said I could end up with permanent numbness if I left it. While he’s disappointed he won’t compete at this weekend’s WARC round, the Kirrup Stages, and the following weekend’s ARC event, Lightforce Rally SA, Markovic said his focus is now November’s Kennards Hire Rally Australia. Last year, he entered the FIA World Rally Championship section of the three-day event on the NSW Coffs Coast, scored the trophy for third fastest Australian. I’m looking forward to being right in time for Rally Australia and I’m slowly getting there, Markovic said. This week, I was even able to drive a car for the first time since the surgery and that was a huge relief. At this stage, though, I’m only allowed to sit for 20 minutes at any one time, he said. So, that makes doing recce a little hard. Markovic, who is the highest-place WA driver on the ARC leaderboard, has been inundated with messages since the surgery. A huge thank you for all the support, he said. I look forward to catching up with everyone soon and can't wait to get back there rallying as soon as I get the all clear. Markovic also thanked his sponsors Auto One, Castrol, Supercharge Batteries, Kincrome, R-Group International, Wesfil, P1 Racewear, Modena Engineering, Maximum Motorsport, Subaru Motorsport Parts and Xtreme Clutch. 11.01.2022 Markovic Confident on Home Turf Brad Markovic will be looking to turn ‘home turf’ advantage in a winning result, as the Australian Rally Championship moves to W...estern Australia for round two of the series, the ‘Make Smoking History’ Forest Rally’. After claiming his first podium finish at the 2017 Forest Rally, WA-based Markovic heads into the event with plenty of confidence. Last years result was a real turning point for me. I proved to myself that I was able to compete with the top crews in this series, and then we followed it up with ‘first Aussies home’ against the international teams of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship at the National Capital Rally in Canberra. And although I missed the rest of 2017 due to my back surgery, I’ve come back this year with the same crew, same car and the same co-driver. Toni (Feaver) and I work well together in the car, and the Maximum Motorsport boys have put together a proven package with the Subaru WRX STI. Markovic started the 2018 in fine fashion, winning the ARC2 category at the Courier Eureka Rally in March. But this round he’ll face added competition with experienced ARC driver Glen Raymond stepping into the old Subaru WRX of Brad’s Maximum Motorsport team-mate John O’Dowd. I should have bought John’s car myself to reduce the competition!, joked Markovic. Last round we had a great battle with Glen Raymond and Andrew Penny in ARC2. This round I’ll again be going head-to-head with Glen, who not only has plenty of ARC experience, but is in a proven ARC2-winning car. It’s going to be a real challenge. But we have a home ground advantage. So if we stick to our own strategy and not get too caught up with what everyone else if doing, we should get a good result. The ‘Make Smoking History’ Forest Rally’ kicks off on Friday April 27 with two passes of the Busselton waterfront Super Special stage, before moving to the forestry roads around Nannup on Saturday and Sunday. Brad Markovic is supported by Auto One, Castrol, Supercharge Batteries, R-Group International, Westfil, P1 Raceware, Modena Engineering, Maximum Motorsport, Subaru Motorsport Parts, Xtreme Clutch, and Mean Mother.

03.01.2022 Brad Markovic has made a positive start to his 2018 Australian Rally Championship campaign, finishing 1st in ARC2 and 6th outright at the Courier Eureka Rally i...n Ballarat. The West Australian driver was in great form following his enforced seven month layoff due to back surgery. With only one short test session before the event, Markovic surprised even himself by setting a top-5 time during Saturdays morning stages, and completing Leg 1 in 6th.
