The update will look at factors that impact a searcher's use of a given webpage. These are known as the page experience signals. The signals consist of numerous metrics that will apprise Google of the experience users have when visiting your website. These include: Loading performance Safe browsing Mobile optimised And more... How will this impact your SEO results? By having poor page experience signals, Google will penalise your website, or rank your competitors higher than you in their search results. Luckily, this is the first time Google has given website owners advanced warning of a major algorithm update. This ensures that if you actively work on your website's page experience (now), you can obtain more organic traffic in 2021 and beyond. Want to learn more? Stay tuned! Next week, I'll be releasing a new blog post and video that shows you how to improve page experience. 18.01.2022 Some interesting SEO stats from a recent study conducted by Backlinko: 1.) Only 9% of Google searchers make it to the bottom of the first page of the search results. 2.) Only .44% of searchers go to the second page of Googles search results. 3.) Only 19% of searchers click on a Google Ad during their search.... 4.) For local queries, 42% of searchers click on results inside of the Google Maps Pack. 5.) 65% of searchers click on a traditional 10 blue link search result during their search session. Still think that SEO is dead? Think again. For more stats visit http://bitly.digitalhitmen.com.au/seo-stats #digitalmarketing #organictraffic #googlerankings #searchengineoptimisation #SEO

15.01.2022 If you have been in the digital marketplace for any amount of time, you have probably heard about the significance of conquering SEO (not just to survive, but thrive in your business niche). To truly dominate the SEO landscape, you need to understand the KPIs that matter most. Without this, you cant ascertain if your campaign is performing at a consistently high level. WHAT IS A KPI?... KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are measurable and objective factors that will show if your present SEO is accomplishing your goals. Understanding the top KPIs for 2020 will give you the information you need to manage your SEO effectively. Want to learn more about what KPI's to focus on? https://bit.ly/2yzL5b3

15.01.2022 VOICE SEARCH If you have not done so already, take this opportunity to optimise your website for #voicesearch. If you believe you have a site that is well suited to voice search, try it out using your device. If you do not like your results, here are a few ways to help you optimise your voice search: Make sure your #website is mobile-friendly. With an estimated half of all searches originating on a mobile device, your sites mobile abilities go hand in hand with your voi...ce capabilities. Make your content easy to understand. This is often said as write for people not for search engines. Your content must reflect how your clientele search. Lots of #keywords stuffed in your website unnaturally will not give you an edge. Build a useful #FAQs page (or section within various pages). Asking and answering relevant questions makes it easier for #Google to find the information requested by the searchers. Remember to make this somewhat conversational. People are more inclined to ask, what restaurant near me delivers Italian food? as opposed to saying, Italian cuisine.

15.01.2022 We are in a time when SEO is beneficial, not just to eCommerce companies, but to every business with a website. It is your chance to get ahead of the curve. Are you taking advantage?

14.01.2022 The Workers Shop is a family-owned workwear business that was established in 2002. With a single store in #osbornepark , they have serviced Perth's workwear needs for 18 years. In late 2018, the owner approached the Digital Hitmen team. He wanted to expand his reach and sell his products across Australia. With past experience (and great success) in the #eCommerce sector at Kitchen Warehouse, I outlined a road map that would take The Workers Shop from a small Perth retailer, ...to a national success. As such, a thorough e-commerce and #SEO strategy were implemented. We're still on that long-term path, but the recent results have been extremely encouraging: 74% increase in #Monthlysales (August 2020 vs July 2020) 306% increase in yearly #organictraffic (August 2020 vs August 2019) With an aim to become one of Australia's leading workwear retailers in the next few years, these results are just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to expand your business using proven digital marketing strategies, get in touch. I'd love to feature you as part of my next case study.

13.01.2022 I'm lucky to have a great team working with me here at Digital Hitmen... Last year, a small, local Perth business approached us with a problem. They had tried a lot of different avenues to generate more leads online. Unfortunately, none of these had worked.... In stepped Digital Hitmen, and in particular my business partner Levi. With a brand new website, and a significant improvement in on-page and off-page SEO, we helped them realise their full online potential. The result: 93% increase in organic traffic in the last 3 months 388% increase in organic traffic vs last year 2 happy business owners (NOTE: This was all achieved through COVID-19, and in the traditionally quieter winter months for this air conditioning client). 11.01.2022 Is your website ready? Google has confirmed that Core Web Vitals are becoming ranking signals for search results in May 2021. The May 2021 update will also combine existing UX-related signals.... The 'page experience' signal combines Core Web Vitals with the following signals: Mobile-friendliness Safe-browsing HTTPS-security Intrusive interstitials (popups, for example) Core Web Vitals were introduced in 2020 and are designed to measure how users experience the speed, responsiveness, and visual stability of a webpage. 10.01.2022 How do you rank a website? How long does it take? What results should I be expecting? What should I do to get better results?... These are all questions I get asked all the time and, truth to be told, the answer can vary depending on a number of factors like industry, the condition of the website, competition, etc. One way for people to get an idea of how to evaluate SEO is to have a look at cases of success, so here is one for you My latest results for Decorative Concret...e WA Background: Company was started in 2017 We saw an opportunity in the market to provide Perth customers high-end decorative concrete solutions for their homes and businesses. 10.01.2022 From the time the first search engine results page (#SERP) began ranking webpages, there has been a long-running debate regarding the most critical ranking factors. Over the years, the indicators of what brought a website to page one have changed, along with Google’s #algorithm. Still, some factors seem to be consistently up for debate. One particularly vexing component is the number of words needed for a page one ranking. In this post, you’ll learn what the ideal homepage wo...rd count is, and tips to increase your #WordCount for better SEO results. If you have any doubts about #SEO, leave them in the comments below

07.01.2022 Phase 3 of eased restrictions starts today. It has been crazy times, but Perth is slowly going back to normal. I'd like to encourage you to support your local small businesses when possible, they are the ones that probably need a little boost to keep functioning. How can we do this? By making conscious decisions of what we buy and where we buy it from, visit your local shops before going to the supermarkets and see what you can buy from there instead, try a new local bakery..., share your favourite local businesses on social media or leave them a nice google review. How do you support your local businesses?

07.01.2022 Yoni Pleasure Palace, founded by the amazing Rosie Rees, is an eCommerce website I've been working on for over a year now. This is another example of great, long-term SEO results (even through a worldwide pandemic). Yearly organic traffic up 169% (last 30 days vs same period last year)... Monthly organic traffic up 45% (last 30 days vs previous 30 days) #ecommerce #SEO #businessgrowth

07.01.2022 Why is now the time to double down on your #SEO? SEO is a 'lagging' form of marketing. Any changes you make now won't be seen in Google (as positive results) for 3-6 months. If you pause your SEO campaign, your results are not only going to go backwards, but you will be 3-6 months behind your competition. There will be a number of competitors pausing their SEO campaigns, which means a huge opportunity to further penetrate the market in this downturn. When the economy tu...rns, you'll be ready to take full advantage. Google likes fresh content, new backlinks etc. If it doesn't see those, you'll lose traction (and your rankings). #googlerankings #seotips #organictraffic #digitalmarketing

07.01.2022 A lot of people have been asking me about the impact COVID-19 is having on our clients at Digital Hitmen. Yes, we've had a few clients in select industries that have really suffered (mostly travel related). However, for the majority of clients I firmly believe that right now is the single best opportunity you will ever have in SEO.... The graph below shows the organic traffic that Online Flooring Store is obtaining every month. In the last week alone, organic (SEO) traffic has increased by 50.3%. This week, we overtook Godfrey Hirst (the worlds's biggest flooring entity) for one of our primary keywords on Google. Plus a little company called Harvey Norman, too. Your competitors are dropping the ball during this period, are you? (NOTE: I realise that not every individual or company is in a position to maintain marketing expenditure during this period. If that's the case, I'm happy to answer any queries you have related to SEO or digital marketing to help your business during these tough times).

05.01.2022 Googles new algorithm is known as The Page Experience. As you may expect from the name, the update will look at factors that impact a searchers use of a given webpage. These are known as the page experience signals. The signals consist of numerous metrics that will apprise Google of the experience users have when visiting your web site. CORE WEB VITALS Loading Performance- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)... Essentially, this is measuring how site users perceive the loading speed. The optimal LCP is 2.5 seconds or less. Interactivity- First Input Delay (FID) Do your visitors stare at a blank page hoping something will happen, or will they have an opportunity to use your site almost immediately? A good FID is 100 milliseconds or less. Visual Stability- The Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) Visitors to your site demand visual content that has the correct format to maintain visual consistency. In order to reliably maintain stability, your webpage should have a CLS of 0.1. SAFE BROWSING Visitors to your web site depend on you to keep them safe while exploring what your page has to offer. OPTIMISED FOR MOBILE USE Google suggests running a test to find out if your site is mobile friendly. HTTPS Google prefers HTTPS sites and has for some time. The idea of a secure site is more important than ever to your clients. AVOID INTERSTITIALS Initially, interstitials were to be similar to ads on broadcast television. And while they do pop up between web pages, they are the cause of much angst to your customers. Want to know more? Stay tuned

04.01.2022 I retired from the corporate 9-5 at the age of 29 to pursue my own ventures. Purely from my SEO success I was soon earning more than I was as an SEO and E-commerce manager for Kitchenware Direct, one of Australias largest online retailers. 03.01.2022 Do not underestimate the power of Google My Business. [Case Study:] Since June, I've been working with a local Perth car hire company to improve their organic traffic. It's an extremely competitive niche, but I'm getting some great #SEO results. Where I've really had a lot of success is with Google My Business (Maps). By optimising the client's account, adding better, geotagged images, focusing on gaining more Google reviews, posting regularly, and utilising other techniqu...es, most rankings have jumped 5-10 positions in Google's Map Pack. The result? The client is now ranking in the top handful of results for competitive terms such as "car rental Perth". This brings 100s of quality visitors to their website, every month. If you're a local business and you're not utilising Google My Business, I highly recommend you start doing so. It's 100% free and can bring a ton of traffic. If you need help getting started, watch this video below. BONUS: For even better results, comment below and I'll PM you some (free) more advanced tips

Build a better looking and converting website. I'll be adding to a few of my client sites in the coming weeks and sharing my thoughts. Stay tuned for more info.

02.01.2022 One great thing about Search Engine Optimisation is that it lets you estimate the change in demand for your products or services due to the pandemic. I recommend using Google Trends. Here, you can identify the potential decrease or increase in traffic and sales. By comparing data from previous years, you will have a better insight into the coming weeks or months.

02.01.2022 Examining the trend in the number of words in top-ranking pages, a recent study showed that the average word count Google’s top websites was 1,447 words. Should you aim for 1,500 words to rank well? On the surface, that idea makes a bit of sense. However, the quality of your content is far more significant than meeting a word count. John Mueller, Google’s Webmaster Trends Analyst recently explained that the number of words on your page would not guarantee you a page one... ranking. Remember, no matter how you add to your website, be certain you are posting useful information and not relying on fluff that pads a word count. This is especially important with Google’s Page Experience Update rolling out in 2021. Fortunately, you can create a good word count that is full of pertinent information your customers will enjoy. By taking useful data and creating smaller content containers, you expand your site’s quality information. Additionally, smaller segments of content are frequently easier for visitors to digest. Consider one or more of these seven tactics to improve the value of what your site offers. #wordcount #SEO #homepage #optimisation #Content
