16.01.2022 Common Question Time Why do I need to have little x-rays of my teeth? When our Dentist is doing their comprehensive examination (a thorough look at all of your teeth) there are parts of the tooth that are not visible to the eye - this includes between the teeth and the roots of your teeth under the gums. So by taking these x-rays our dentist can provide you with full assessment of your mouth and we take 2 of these - 1 for each side of your mouth.... X-rays can show: - Decay - Problems with existing fillings - Traumatic injuries including fractures - Jaw bone diseases - Abscesses or infection - Cysts - Proximity to nerves and sinuses - Development of wisdom teeth - Determing bone levels for dental implants Generally our dentists like to take these two x-rays (called bitewings) regularly every 2 years. Decay can be sneaky sometimes and does not always show an early presence, so it's best to stay on top of your regular checkups. What about radiation we hear you ask? Exposure to radiation for these little x-rays is extremely low. The dentist and assistant stand outside the treating room due to the amount of x-rays that they take during the day. If you are pregnant, please let your dentist know as this is one of the times that we would prefer not to take an x-ray unless completely necessary. If you have any questions about x-rays, please don't hesitate to talk to your dentist at your next visit

04.01.2022 BREAKING: The government has eased dental service restrictions to 'Level 2', from the 27th of April. The Prime Minister has just made the announcement that give...s dental practices the ability to attend to the needs of a broader range of patients, not just emergencies. The ADA will continue to support and guide dental practitioners through any change to the level of restrictions. Keep an eye on www.ada.org.au/covid19

03.01.2022 Our restrictions have been lifted slightly which is exciting for us as a team being back together but please be assured that we still have strong infection control measures in place and we are following COVID19 rules and regulations.
