05.01.2022 Braidwood Community Help Fund: Since 24th November the Braidwood District has endured continuous outbreaks of bushfires in all directions. These fires have resu...lted in homes, sheds, equipment, fences and livestock being destroyed or damaged. Wildlife have also been severely impacted. Local residents and the wider public have responded to this disaster with a desire to provide assistance to the community in the form of financial donations. The Braidwood Life Centre has set up a separate account to receive these donations. The broad aim of this fund is: To support community recovery following the bushfires of Summer 2019/2020 in the surrounding district of Braidwood by channelling tax-exempt donations from the public into identified local community needs and priorities. Funds will be distributed to respond to both immediate and emerging needs of individuals, businesses and communities, recognising that needs change over time. A ‘Braidwood Community Help Fund Panel’ has been set up to ensure accountability and transparency in the use of the funds and to oversee the distribution of donated funds. An agreed set of General Principles will be used to guide decisions made by this panel. The panel consists of representatives of the Braidwood Life Centre and the Braidwood Community Association. It will report to the monthly committee meeting of the Braidwood Life Centre. If you wish to donate, the account has been set up at the Bendigo Bank. Account name: Braidwood Life Centre Community Help Fund BSB 633-000 Account No 170 568 844 All donations over $2 are tax deductible and our CFN is 22606 We are currently setting up a system for applications for assistance to be made. Further information on this will be available shortly. A Bushfire Recovery Centre has been set up by QPRC at the Old Library in Park Lane. Information about other forms of assistance to individuals and businesses should be available there.

04.01.2022 For many weeks now the Braidwood Life Centre has been the go to place for our fire affected community. We are incredibly grateful for the huge amount of donat...ions we have received, not just from the local community but from all over the State. To date we have been able to satisfy the needs of all those who have popped in or contacted us. Thank you but we believe we do not need any more donations at this time. However, as those displaced return to their homes in the future there will be other & different needs that we will address as and when that time comes. If you have items you wish to donate please contact us first, particularly if you have furniture or household items; we have started a register of what people have to donate & we can then marry up with who needs what! As a consequence we will be scaling down our activities over the next 2 weeks. We will be open this SATURDAY 10am - 2pm if you need anything. We have: Non perishable food items Baby formula Baby nappies from newborn up Toiletries - male & female Feminine hygiene items Clothes - male & female - all sizes Children’s clothing from newborn to teens Shoes including football boots Toys Linen, doonas, blankets, towels Portable cots & car seats & other baby stuff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
