24.01.2022 Don't forget, we'll see you all on Saturday morning, 7.45am at the Showground. It's free, it's fun & it's for EVERYONE. If you're still unsure, just come along & watch. This is a regular community event & it needs your support - & your desire to have a bit of fun! If you would like further information, please visit our website at www.parkrun.com.au/braidwoodshowground or email us at [email protected] See you on Saturday!!!

23.01.2022 Just a little refresher on our parkrun Code of Conduct - it's been a while!!! Again, can't wait to see you on Saturday morning.

21.01.2022 AND here is the link to submit your time. Come on Braidwood, let's join them & celebrate a wonderful event during the not so wonderful COVID!!! I'll be looking for your names on their results page. Lots of Love.xxx

21.01.2022 It was a little wet under foot this morning but we still had a great time & we were joined by many visitors from Canberra & Wollongong. Thank you so much for sharing our parkrun with us this morning, we hope to see you again - & I hope your feet didn't get too wet! Thank you as always to our wonderful volunteers today. Couldn't do it without you. A huge congrats to Elliot Dixon who celebrated his 50th run this morning. Well done honey. Can't wait to see you in your red t...op! Well done again to you all & I hope you have a fantastic weekend. See you next Saturday. Kelly

19.01.2022 Hello all, it's been a while! You may have heard that thanks to the easing of restrictions, parkrun events in NSW are able to start again! There's still a bit of work for us to do before we're able to launch, so we won't be up and running (or walking!) again until the New Year. We're currently hoping for 2nd or 9th January as a start date, but will confirm as soon as we know for sure. Looking forward to seeing you all at the Showground soon!

18.01.2022 SO SAD, NO PARKRUN AGAIN - & NOT FOR A LITTLE WHILE LONGER. Please take care everyone. Stay safe & pleeeeeeeeease stay inside & stay isolated. This is not a joke & needs to be taken seriously - otherwise we'll never get back to parkrun!!! My thoughts are with you all. Kelly

18.01.2022 Mother Nature didn't ease up at all this morning, but for me, it was the perfect start to my birthday. I seriously cannot express my thanks & gratitude enough to all the incredible Canberrans (you know who you are) who drove over & filled every single one of our volunteer positions - & then had brekky with me at the Albion. And to our lovely locals who braved the weather & joined us - well, you ALL made the start to my day so completely wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank ...you. A HUGE thank you to a bunch of awesome volunteers. Thank you Lauren, Michael, Mark, Nicole, Elise, James, Ian, Lucas (cutest Tail Walker ever), Alistair & Rich. What a treat having you join us & take on those roles - so I could do 5km in my gumboots & shower cap!!! Thank you sincerely. Thank you to the first timers joining us today. Please know we don't put such special weather on all the time. You are very lucky!!! But we hope you enjoyed getting saturated & we look forward to seeing you again. Congrats to Tim & Adrian whom both achieved PB's despite the weather. Or maybe you ran faster to get out of the rain sooner??? Awesome job guys. I was overwhelmed by the love, support, friendship, rain & birthday wishes today & I want each of you to know how special you have made my birthday. Thank you for joining me at parkrun this morning & I hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous. Take good care. Kelly

10.01.2022 Merry Christmas & an almost Happy New Year to you all. As you are aware NSW parkruns are returning - YAY - as will our Braidwood Showground parkrun, but we haven't got an exact date as there are a few approvals we need before we can recommence. As soon as we know, you'll know, and we cannot WAIT to see you there. Enjoy this festive period & please stay safe. See you in the New Year!!!

10.01.2022 Hello Gorgeous Ones. So I'll start with a huge apology. I was unable to download last weeks photos (29/2/20) because my laptop wasn't happy. It's still not very happy, but happy enough that I could download last week's photos, so please check them out. We were joined by so many visiting parkrunners & it was amazing. We love when we are joined by visitors so thank you for making such a huge effort to get over to us. We hope you enjoyed it & we'd love to see you again soon. ...We also had some members of BlazeAid join us which was wonderful. As always, I'm super proud of all of you & I think you're amazing. Apologies again re: photos - but better late than never!!! Take good care lovelies. Kelly

09.01.2022 Want to keep parkrun safe for everyone? Follow these simple rules

09.01.2022 It's been a while & I'm missing you all terribly. I hope you are well & have been practising social distancing etc so we can get back to 'normal' as soon as possible - I'm getting a bit too used to a Saturday morning sleep-in people's!!! However, we cannot return until it is safe. parkrun Global has all of our best interests, & health, at heart & I know they are working hard to support every parkrun around the world. For your information I have attached a relevant section fr...om the latest COVID update from parkrun's Chief Operating Officer, Tom Williams. It looks like I will be missing you for a little longer yet & no doubt you are all suffering from 'Kelly' withdrawals. Stop laughing, I'm quite serious. So I've included a few pics in case you're really missing me, or you've forgotten what I look like. We will be back soon to have more fun. Please continue to take good care of yourselves. Remember to be kind & to support one another. Kelly.

07.01.2022 Hello all, Sadly, parkrun has made the decision to cancel all Australian and New Zealand parkrun events until the end of March (i.e. the next two events) in light of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. While these are the only two events formally cancelled at this stage, this is to bring us in line with the other 15 countries that had previously announced cancellations through March. It is widely expected that the cancellations will continue into April and potentially beyond.... I know for many this will be disappointing considering we only just got back up and running after the bushfire threat and associated smoke. We will share any news regarding further cancellations (and our eventual return!) as they become available. In the meantime, look after yourselves and your loved ones and we look forward to seeing you back out on the showground again in the future - Braidwood Showground parkrun Event Team

06.01.2022 We'll see you all on Saturday morning at the showground!!! And it's somebody's birthday so it's an extra special morning - that, & we have some wonderful volunteers coming from Canberra to help out - so it's going to be amazing!

05.01.2022 Hey Spunky People. How do you fancy doing a 'virtual' parkrun in Ireland..........then read on. Dundalk parkrun in Ireland is celebrating it's 5th birthday & due to COVID it's a virtual party this Saturday 6th June. Sounds like a great idea. Take care & stay safe.

04.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing you all again (& a huge thank you to our sponsors for making it possible) hopefully sooner rather than later - but in the mean time, please look after yourselves & each other. Kelly

02.01.2022 As expected, the cancellation of all parkrun events has been extended through April (and likely beyond).

02.01.2022 WE ARE BACK!!! On Saturday 23rd January Braidwood Showground parkrun/WALK will recommence!!! Despite drought, bushfires, flooding & COVID-19, there is just no stopping us. We cannot WAIT to see you all on the 23rd. Let's make this comeback count. Bring as many family & friends as you can & let's show everyone what our community is made of. Remember, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN. parkrun is for every age & for all levels of fitness - & it's FREE. ... Google, parkrun Australia to register or visit our website at:- www.parkrun.com.au/braidwoodshowground This is a community event with an aim to bring people together in friendship. parkrun's ethos revolves around support, encouragement, kindness & caring, whether that be as a participant, a volunteer or a spectator. The idea is to create community connections whilst having some healthy & free fun. So please don't put off coming along because you're worried about how you look or if you can do 5km because NONE of that matters. You might only be able to walk one lap or decide it's not for you but you'd still like to be a part of such a great event as a volunteer. Just come along & see what this whole 'parkrun' thing is about. parkrun is not just for athletes, it's for anyone who wants to have some fun. Braidwood Showground parkrun is held every Saturday morning at 8am (although we advise arriving by 7.45am) at the showground on the King's Highway. Come along & check it out. It will make you feel amazing & it's the best way to start the weekend. SEE YOU ALL ON SATURDAY 23RD JANUARY.

01.01.2022 Hi parkrunners. Quick question, we have a lady who would love to come & join us for a parkrun on Saturday 28th March BUT she has no vehicle. She plans to catch a train to Bungendore on the Friday, stay there the night, & hopefully someone will be passing through on their way to Braidwood Showground parkrun that same morning & can pick her up.Her name is Kathleen. If you think you are able to give Kathleen a lift, can you let me know. Thanks so much.

01.01.2022 Hello Fellow parkrunners. If you haven't seen this, read on. What a great way to keep active & 'parkrun' engaged until we can return. As always, keep safe, take care & look after one another.
