18.01.2022 #QOTD #82 - Intended to be flood-proof, its Parramatta location flooded to "once-in-100-year" levels this weekend for the fourth time in two years. What name is shared by the Museums of Applied Arts and Sciences currently at Ultimo and intended for Parramatta?

14.01.2022 We don't need more Big Government subsidies. We need to get back to work, and we need the Government to get out and stay out of the way.

13.01.2022 #QOTD #81 - The volcano Fagradalsfjall erupted for the first time in 6000 years this weekend. In what country is it located? You'll see this question in this week's Brain Buster Trivia and Gee Quiz nights. We've missed a few days of QOTD's - so we'll be making up for those this week!

08.01.2022 Ongoing lockdowns have made continuing this business unviable now and in the foreseeable future. The cost would not be worth it even in a serious medical pandemic (like a Zombie apocalypse) - and this is NOT a serious medical pandemic. Big Government has done everything it can to scare Australia. We have entire swathes of our population convinced that Covid is a death sentence - when, in reality, it is a condition that is almost entirely asymptomatic with the right treatments... (such as Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin) and almost entirely non-fatal (unless you have co-morbidities, like stage four cancer or getting hit by a car). These treatments, despite decades of safe use and abundant evidence of efficacy, have been demonised (to the point of making them illegal to prescribe) to convince our population that if you catch Covid, you die - to instead force expensive and ineffective taxpayer funded vaccines on the population. Vaccines are not inherently bad in themselves - but demonising effective treatments (and condemning many to unnecessary suffering and/or death) to make mandatory vaccination politically palatable is perhaps one of the biggest crimes against humanity ever committed. In Sydney, the privileged East once again has to intervene to prevent the natives in the West from enjoying any semblance of freedom by instituting colonial law. No Westie may travel more than 10km from their home of record. No Westie may encroach upon their beaches, for the beaches are the exclusive domain of the privileged East. We must carry our papers and produce them on demand at all times, and they - not us - decide what purchases are "essential". Big Government chooses to subsidise some, but not others. While some continue to enjoy their full wages supported by Federal subsidy, many - including almost the entire Creative sector - are ineligible for a single dollar of support. It takes about 23 man hours of research and production to create each and every Brain Buster Trivia and Gee Quiz presentation - a roughly $1200 cost we absorb upfront - and we rely on our ongoing venue contracts to allow us to recoup the initial investment. To "break even", we must deliver eight quizzes a week. Most of our quiz nights will not return any time soon - and when they do, some of those will return in the hands of other companies who have been doing, and continue to do, absolutely everything they can to steal contracts. In one particularly egregious case, one of our former venues is, right now, boasting that their new trivia company is "Shit" (a rare case of absolute truth and candour in advertising). Without a clear path back to normality, it becomes harder and harder to justify the considerable financial investment required to maintain this business. So we're not calling it quits today - but if we do, it'll be within weeks. Stay tuned.
