25.01.2022 The Brain Tumour Research Team at Telethon Kids Institute strives for a future where no child will die from brain cancer because they have developed new therapies that will cure their disease. Co-leading this program is Dr Raelene Endersby. Raelene undertook postdoctoral training in the Neurobiology and Brain Tumor Program at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in the USA before returning to Australia to establish the Brain Tumour Research Program at the Telethon Kids in 20...11. Raelene is a passionate advocate for research. In 2017, the BrainChild Ball was proud to be able to make Dr Raelene Endersby the BrainChild Fellow. In 2018 our funding objective is to again make Dr Raelene the BrainChild Fellow. 19.01.2022 If youve been following the story of the latest Star Wars film Solo, then you must have heard this name! Mark Raats is a Perth-based artist who has created posters for some of Hollywoods most iconic movies. He has worked extensively with Lucasfilm for more than 25 years, creating artwork for Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull amongst others. Most of Marks artwork created for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises has been purchased directly by George Lucas for his private collection. Most recently, Mark has completed artwork for Blade Runner 2049 and the recently-released Solo: A Star Wars Story. And we are so lucky to have the contribution of these two extremely limited prints (no more than 20 exist of each) to our silent auction!! Thanks so much Mark!

And (in keeping with our theme) we are STOKED with the entertainment put together by beautiful local artist Jenelle Russo of Jenelle Russo Studio - including band Violette River. Over 470 guests in the Grand Ballroom at Crown came together last night and were part of something incredible - not only did we have the most amazing night, but were so proud to kickstart a brand new project at Telethon Kids Institute with the Sindi Fund, named in honour of our beautiful BrainChild for this year. Were just adding up and will announce our result soon, but once again a massive thank you to all who supported, and especially to Paul and Dijana for sharing their story, which will stay in our memories of this night....

04.01.2022 Last year our Ladys Day on the Yacht auction prize was certainly popular- and the winning bidders (pictured below) had a fantastic day! And with thanks to Alf & Jill Pelliccione its back again this year! 12 friends on board a luxury 60ft Riviera, for a fully-catered day trip to beautiful Rottnest Island, with a bag of luscious goodies as well! 02.01.2022 The generosity and support that has been shown through our BrainChild Ball - Australis - has produced the most incredible result and were so excited to announce our final total stands at just over a truly massive $292,000! Included in this total is $111,255 which was pledged on the night to establish Sindis Fund. Named after our beautiful BrainChild, this fund kickstarts a new research project into brainstem gliomas at the Telethon Kids Institute. We feel truly proud to... have created this legacy in honour of Sindi, taken by this terrible disease all too soon. We know researchers will be using these funds and working hard towards the ultimate aim of changing the ending to stories like Sindis. And once again - with this support - Dr Raelene Endersby will be known as the BrainChild Fellow in 2019, and be able to continue her amazing work as Co-Head of the Brain Tumour Research Program.
