These packs are provided to the family at no cost, and distributed to the leading paediatric hospitals in every state. Traditionally, this event raises much needed funds needed to continue our important work. So we decided to come to you in a virtual way. Tickets to our luncheon have now closed but you can still join in and help support Brainwave children and their families this year. 04.01.2022 Stavroula’s story Since being diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex at 4 months, Stavroula has faced many life threatening health challenges. TSC is a very complex and rare illness where hard sclerotic Tumor growths which continue to calcify with age in her brain and organs. The disease continues to severely affect her intellectual and physical ability and has also led to severe uncontrolled Epilepsy. Stavroula is only too familiar with a life full of rigorous tests su...ch as MRI’s, Ultasounds, EEG’s and ECG’s regularly visiting The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Too ill to attend a special school, Stavroula has been homeschooled for 10 years by her mother and now at 14 years of age has developed into a loving and placid teenager but with the cognitive ability of a 2 year old. With your generous support Brainwave was able to support the funding of rubber floor matting for Stavroula creating a safer environment when experiencing seizures.
