25.01.2022 If you enjoy listening to good music, come along and watch the best choirs in Newcastle performing at the Con.

22.01.2022 This will come as no surprise but on-site services held at The Con have been suspended for the moment. The good people from the BrainWaves Choir however are making efforts to stay connected with a weekly Live sing. Stay tuned for more info and maybe you'll get to join in too. Take care, be safe, and keep singing

20.01.2022 Congrats BrainWaves on another inspirational performance at for the Turning Points production. And to the thespians- well done and thank you for sharing your stories so sensitively and honestly. It touches us all. And changes lives...

18.01.2022 Hope you’re ready BrainWavers! We’re about to have a virtual sing along! Sorry to those not yet informed of this but watch this space. Take care. And keep the music flowing - we’ll get by with a little help from our friends.... x

17.01.2022 WELL BRAINWAVES CHOIR MEMBERS JUST HAD A SINGALONG FROM OUR HOMES AND IT WAS SPECIAL. Unfortunately it was limited this week to members of a private choir FB group but I’ll see if we can share the sing next time. WATCH THIS SPACE! Here’s the response I made on that page just now... Wow! That was amazing!! How can you not feel better after that?! Thanks Stef Claire- you are amazing and a beautiful soul - thanks for being part of this beautiful team... I filled with joy when I ...started to sing With a Little Help - did you hear my harmonies?!! - but then in Try a little kindess, I started to cry and my voice just broke! What powerful stuff! My only request is PLEASE post to the public page. Forgive the language but I reckon this could - and should - go viral! There’s a whole lotta people sitting at home Saturday mornings who need their spirits lifted. Thanks Rosalynd O'shannassy for the fabulous idea and Stef Claire for adding you talent and shining smile to the event. Looking forward to next week. Tell all your friends and let’s spread the joy xo See more

15.01.2022 Thinking of you BrainWaves as you head towards another bright new year of music and memories. I write with a heavy heart of course, knowing I won't be there with you and thank you again for the fun and inspirational years I have enjoyed out the front of such an amazing group of people. Thanks also to the great team around me who helped it all to happen. I wish Stef all the best stepping into the conducting shoes and am glad she'll enjoy the outstanding assistance from Paula as well. I look forward to staying connected with you in big things and in small. Keep posting to this page and let the world know what you're up to! Have fun, BrainWaves Family. May many more join you soon to share in your magic; I know you'll make them feel welcome. Bernadette Matthias xoxo

12.01.2022 Happy World Stroke Day everyone! Here's to the survivors, the carers, the friends, the fighters... and to those who haven't survived - but have been a part of our story. We thank you and salute you

10.01.2022 Paula Machin (Hunter New England LHD) Hi Everyone -- thankyou so much for a wonderful day on Sunday, you were all in fine voice as usual. Please see attached invitation to attend the pre-TV premiere of the ABC Compass episode Stroke Stories at HMRI. Here is the link to the information and for bookings: http://hmri.org.au/compass See you on the 18th at NEX in the meanwhile. Bernadette will be back for that gig. Dave would mind posting this info on our Facebook Page? Please let me know if you’re not able to, thankyou. 07.01.2022 I have had a number of people ask if I can share my blog site with them so here it is. It is called Daves Daily and covers every topic under the sun from my family to politics, current affairs, history, etc. Also if anyone would like me to research and write on a particular subject feel free to ask me. Here is the link; https://wordpress.com/post/davesdaily1.wordpress.com/512 Enjoy.

07.01.2022 Hi gang, I had a meeting with Gill today re closer collaboration between stroke survivors and researchers to develop more targeted research. She has got a meeting already organised with some researchers for next Wednesday to open discussion, would anybody interested please reply to this post. Also we discussed the number of survivors who never get to hear about support groups such as ours and Coffee & Chat. Would any of you be prepared to put in writing how these groups have helped you, so we can put a pamphlet together to distribute to stroke survivors in their discharge package.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder to get your tix early as there has been a lot of interest expressed by the public. The performance also features a cameo from the Brainwaves Choir. See you all there.

05.01.2022 Make sure you get to the HMRI Open Day on Friday 11th October, 2019-see post below for more information
