You did that, and you did it in less than 4 weeks time. We will continue to post updates and stories; good mental health and awareness won't happen overnight. There have been times in my life when I’ve experienced extreme feelings of isolation, very low self-worth, loneliness, shame, failure, loss and grief for situations and for people. Sometimes, it is tough to reach out, talk to someone, and share those thoughts, feelings, doubts, or just for someone to listen. Hugs work for me too.... Thankfully in these moments, people have either noticed and reached out to me, or I have eventually found the strength to ask for help; help from family, friends and health professionals. And it really made a difference. On the flip side, I have also been able to reach out to help others, and hopefully, I have made a difference for them too. So keep in touch, keep asking and checking in, be alert to changes in others. Show patience, kindness, understanding, support and love for those around you, whoever they may be. 07.01.2022 Hi, I'm Jodie, and I am the Victorian Account Manager for Bramble Bay Co. I suffered postnatal depression and anxiety with my second child. While I was pregnant, I had a health visit with the maternal health officer. I couldn't make an appointment until after 5:00pm. (I call this "the witching hour.) The wonderful health care worker had asked me to stay in her office. She left me alone, I had no idea what she was doing when she left her office. She was gone for a while. I wa...s crying, the kids were screaming; it was dinner time. I thought the Maternal nurse was looking into solutions for my daughter's sleeping problems but I was the one who was admitted to hospital. As there was only 15 months difference between my 1st and second child, and I wasn't coping at all. Mitcham Private Hospital helped me. They helped me bond with my daughter and son and also brought my family together again. They taught me that I have feelings, and "it's okay not to be okay". I have faced many challenges since, but this lesson has always guided me. I am happy to say that we are a strong family and we will always be together.
