23.01.2022 Philodendron black cardinal will bring a unique contrast to your tropical garden with its chocolate brown colouring. Younger leaves can appear with a reddish green hue but darken as they age. This philodendron does best in bright filtered light but can also handle low light. It reaches 1m high and can alternatively be kept in a pot indoors. We currently have them in 200mm, 250mm, and 300mm.

20.01.2022 Costus, costus, costus! The perfect lush, tropical look to that shaded to partly shaded area of your garden. We currently have the costus productus with green leaves and orange flower, the green and white variegated costus speciosus, and the larger variety Buddha belly with yellow flower and dark stem. These beautiful spiralled stem plants will add intrigue and we're currently selling in 200mm and 300mm for Buddha belly.

20.01.2022 CYCAD CARE TIP: with the change in season cycads are starting to get their new flush of leaves. So now is good time to give them a spray with a broad spectrum insecticide to prevent the caterpillar of a blue butterfly from chewing the leaves. 14.01.2022 Azalea shiraz is a dwarf plant growing to about 1.5m tall amd 1m wide. It can be used as a speciman plant providing colour contrast to your garden, potted plant, or small hedge. It can handle full sun but thrives in part shade. Watch out for the beaitiful red blooms in the cooler months.

12.01.2022 Begonias are making a comeback! We have this beautiful silver variety in 200mm and would look great in a sheltered spot in the garden or well lit indoors. Begonias in pots prefer to dry out before rewatering.

09.01.2022 Bauhinia purpurea is a fast growing medium tree with scented purple flowers that bloom in late winter/spring. The leaves are lobed lile a butterfly or heart making it am interesting feature even when not in flower. It reaches 9-12m high and 5-8m wide. It prefers an open sunny area with well drained soils.



06.01.2022 Fiddle leaf fig or Ficus lyrata is a 10-12m tree when in the ground but has become a popular indoor plant, significantly restraining its size. Best placed in bright indirect light or receiving morning sun as the harsh day sun can burn its leaves. We're currently selling this lush tropical plant in 300mm pots.
