23.01.2022 How handy are these babies These 2ply flannelette towels were designed as chid size cloth toilet towels. But if that’s not your cup of tea they can be used for reusable tissues, napkins at the table, or as wet wipes. Something so simple can save so much waste Let me know if you other ideas for their use?... www.branchesofme.com See more

22.01.2022 17 Towel rolls ordered last week...17!! You guys are keeping me busy and I love how these towel rolls will be helping so many families ditch their one-time, disposable paper towel. You rock. all of you I hope everyone is doing ok today for R U OK Day? I’d love to hear how you are doing I’m doing good... i say at the beginning of me sewing until midnight For the next 2 weeks ... Any further orders placed, will be a few weeks processing time

22.01.2022 It’s beginning to feel like Christmas... in November COVID is definitely bringing Christmas early for some of us wishing the year over... I love this quirky print. They are my handmade non-paper towels. Designed to replace boring disposable paper towel adding some colour and spice to your kitchen their Christmas . Which colour combo is your favorite?

22.01.2022 Paper towel... do you love it or hate it? Do you use heaps or hardly at all? Since switching to non-paper towel rolls, we buy 1 twin pack a year and that’s just for meats, which you could still use cloth towels if you have darker fabric like these.. They are also handy to swap out wet wipes!!! Especially for little hand and faces, and high chairs So instead of buying for paper you throw in the bin, you could buy towels you throw in with your washing and reuse ... So, how much paper towel do you use?

21.01.2022 This is my sweet Louie playing tea with me I love having my kitchen towels on hand for toddler mess, in our home it’s their main use! I’d love to hear how my non-paper towel rolls have made a difference in your home ?

21.01.2022 I have a big week of swim nappies this week. 22 on the cutting table Lucky daycare increases to 3 days a week this week This print on Sydney in the photo has been with me for 5 years and now has officially sold out. Farewell to this wonderful print Is everyone looking forward to being back to routine this week? I know I am...

21.01.2022 Oh I love love love this one! I may have to keep it for myself Or it could become a teachers gift Once I’ve finished everyone’s Christmas orders I will be doing my sons teachers How’s everyone going with their Christmas shopping? I am aiming to stay open for Christmas orders for another 2 weeks but this is flexible depending on the flow of orders

21.01.2022 Did I just do that Oh yes I did! My first Christmas post and it’s only October This year I am ready, I think Covid has made us all ready a bit earlier this year ? What are they for? They are a roll of towels snapped together to imitate paper towel, but they go in the wash and put back together again. They replace paper towel, or serviettes, wet wipes or if you’re not precious about these cuties, even dishcloths!... My non-paper towel in Christmas fabric is up on my website, FYI there isn’t much of this fabric!

20.01.2022 To me, paying for disposable items is like throwing money in the bin right Why throw out when you can throw in the wash I say.... I love how @love.mylittlefamily shares how she is using my nonpaper towel to fit in with their family. From washing fruits, to serviettes, they don’t just have to do the job of paper towel

20.01.2022 Oh those vintage blues When I was first asked to make family cloth I was a bit unsure, first I had to research what it was: Cloth toilet wipes, and then work out the best way to make them and how to care for them. Little did I know how handy these little babies can be! I quickly discovered they don’t have to be just for the bathroom, although face wipes is another handy use These were ordered for a customer to use for cleaning in the kitchen. And I love she requested old fabrics instead of new. So much eco goodness in 1 little parcel: saving so much waste from landfill in more ways than 1 I will add these vintage towels to the website as their own listing so they are easier to find amongst the new beautiful prints

19.01.2022 To my new followers, this is my bin! Why? Because every 6 Months or so, I like to share how proud of my family I am for trying hard to reduce our weekly waste, and to only have 1 bag in the bin is an accomplishment Don’t get me wrong, some weeks we have more, but on the weeks we achieve my goal, I’m proud of my family What do we do? ...well We recycle everything recyclable... We use our own drink bottles and don’t buy water We use cloth nappies and cloth wipes No paper towel - we use my washable non-paper towel roll No one-time plastics like sandwich bags or cling wrap: instead we use glass containers with lids and my washable wetbags We recycle all soft plastics (chip packets, chocolate bar wrappers ect) at Coles - soon to be collected from @curbythebilby Composting all our food scraps saves so much waste! I don’t even use the compost Just let it biodegrade in the compost bin A recent switch, which does take a bit of effort to adapt - is shampoo bars instead of bottled shampoo, but was a super simple switch for the boys Sewing offcuts: Cotton and bamboo are either made into new smaller products, and the rest hand shredded and put into the compost. And polyester scraps go to daycare for craft So time for a bin overhaul? If the environment is not your inspo, do it to get more out of your bin Keep in mind: when you throw away - it does not just go away

19.01.2022 After being a nanny for 18 years (geez that makes me sound old ) I picked up many little tips along the way that blend in with my eco life. This one is a keeper... When making baby food OR a sauce, freeze into ice cubes and then pop them into an old jar and freeze this is my toddlers pasta sauce: he will have 3x cubes with some fresh pasta and voila: dinner is done Pop out Ice cube tray @tupperwareaustralia

18.01.2022 Breakfast on the go this morning? My super fussy 7yr old was diagnosed Coeliac this month so whilst we discover new foods for him, this is now his daily breakfast. Of course he won’t eat the GF cereal as cereal, but hey, we do what works right As much as he doesn’t want these pretty snack bags, I DO as they’re simply gorgeous And are now on my website

18.01.2022 Well done Central Coast on your recycling efforts And thank you Coast Community News for spreading the awareness of how much effort we are putting in to save waste from landfill Find the article here: https://issuu.com/centralcoastnewspapers/docs/binder1/26

17.01.2022 Seriously what tush wouldn't look cute in this print and I don't know about you, but looking at this makes me excited about summer, what do you reckon?

17.01.2022 Oh Parker how adorable are you I adore this print . Reusable swim nappies are so handy for water play instead of wasting a disposable nappy Parker is wearing a Large here, but it has 3 adjustable snaps on each side. They are handmade by myself using a waterproof outer fabric to catch those accidents inside .... 17.01.2022 This one’s for the teachers Usually these pads are for removing make up, but for this customer she uses them for mini whiteboard wipes for her students in the classroom and the best part is, she encourages me to use up all my scrap pieces

16.01.2022 Everything in these boxes has been sewn by me over the past 7days, by myself, working hard to make reusable products to save waste from our world And thank you to those ordering these products to bring change to your own home

15.01.2022 How much paper towel do you buy ? What do you use it for? I am on a mission to help families make the swap to washable, reusable non-paper towel They are made with a soft flannelette top, and a soft but grippy toweling base. The towel can be either preloved - to save new towels from being produced and give an old towel new life, or the option of a fresh new towel and they look so much prettier on the kitchen bench! Some uses for non-paper towel: Wiping up spills... Washing dishes Washing the windows Wiping the high chair Wiping little grubby hands and face As a serviette Have a browse of the website to see my other sweet designs www.branchesofme.com.au See more

15.01.2022 Is this a swap you would consider? They look so pretty in the bathroom and they are surprisingly not as complicated as you would think. Common use is to use them for no.1 only, so it's really not so bad, especially if you are already a cloth using family You store flat towels in a basket or towels snapped on a roll, and have a little tub or wetbag to put the used towels in - or add them to the pile of nappies!... What are the benefits: less waste in the production of tissues, less pollution going into the sewage system, and less money for you in the long run So what do you think? Could you do it?

14.01.2022 A very different perspective This, is my non paper towel roll. It replaces paper towel on the kitchen bench Handmade towels are snapped together and then attached to a center roll to make it spin on the holder. The best part is, when you’re finished, you put these pretty things in the wash and do it all over again...

14.01.2022 For my local families

13.01.2022 This print gets me every time I had to make this one for my toddler as there’s something about those ocean blues

12.01.2022 Let’s talk sandwich bags... Do you use them? Do you use too many? Do you actually use them for sandwiches? Like many one-time plastics, they can take up to 10-1000years to decompose (I couldn’t find a concrete answer! but it’s a long time..) so if you are using them daily... that’s a whole lot of rubbish building up landfill. Even if you are re-using them, they are going to exist for quite a while . What are the alternatives? Paper bags are a good option and can go in the c...ompost or recycling bin, as once they’re in landfill there is a lack of oxygen and therefore take a lot longer to break down, but they are again a one-time thing.. The other alternative is a reusable option. My handmade sandwich bags are a soft fabric with a waterproof layer inside. The fabric is classed as food safe, can go in the washing machine and dryer if necessary. And will biodegrade in landfill. They have a zip for opening and larger sizes come with a handle. They are handy on sooo many levels, especially for those in and out all of the time, and for those with kids, even the kids love them for toys and craft

12.01.2022 ECO TIP: Mash your leftover avocado and put it in a reusable pouch like this one from Sinchies reusable pouches, squeeze all the air out and it lasts DAYS! Nothing added to it, just pure avocado ready for toast Did you know I have some pouches on my website

11.01.2022 Feeling pretty happy with myself here .... Ate a pumpkin Put the scraps in the compost Threw compost on the garden ... (No idea what I’m doing) Pumpkins grew Ate the pumpkin Threw scraps in the compost

09.01.2022 One of my new prints ready for spring This is my XL wetbag. It’s made a silky soft fabric with a waterproof backing. So these bags can be used for wet swimmers, or sweaty gym clothes, or dirty soccer boots, or toilet training accidents Whatever you chuck into a plastic bag, there is always an eco option ... Let me know if you have a questions....

09.01.2022 Who needs paper towel when you can have these pretties They are more absorbent, more durable and the best part is they are WASHABLE These watermelons have been special to me and I’m sad to say this is the very last one I bought 10m of this fabric a couple years back and that was a big price for my small handmade business, and now here we are with the very last piece. You can find this last one if the website ... www.branchesofme.com

09.01.2022 Surfs Up You don’t realize how handy these bags until you start using them! Then they become addictive and you have a drawer full . They are made with a soft and washable fabric coated in a waterproof layer on the inside. So if you squash those strawberries.. they won’t spoil your bag and then just throw them in the wash with your clothes ... What do you keep your belongings in when at the beach?

09.01.2022 As an English girl living in Australia this photo brings me so much joy: Tea and Gumleaves My handmade reusable snack bags are designed to replace plastic sandwich bags. They have a waterproof layer on the soft washable fabric, that is classed food safe. They are perfect for snacks, but also for any nic-nacs you find you need sandwich bags for Eucalyptus fabric is back in stock

07.01.2022 Reusable tissues: aka #familycloth, aren’t as daunting as it my seem. I’m the only girl in my household so I use them just for myself and just for wees. I had no idea how easy they would be until I gave them a go.. . But they don’t just have to be for the bathroom, in the babies room or next to the couch for tissues, there are so many uses for them... Last chance to enter @livinguponarainbow ’s Eco giveaway over on Instagram.. where you can win $50 to spend in my store ... Enter here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGriOeGFn4q/

06.01.2022 Christmas prints are in I have NEVER been so organized in my life! But with Covid, all the fabric suppliers were on to it so we didn’t miss out Last year I was blown away with the interest for Christmas towels, so this year I am prepared. We are off on a family break next week, then I will be sewing and photographing Christmas towels to be on the website late next month

And Just in time for spring I have this adorable new print... I am loving this new one!! What more could you want: matching swim nappy, wetbag and snack bags

05.01.2022 This turquoise is so underrated Navy is the most popular colour to team with these bunnies and foxes, but then a Turquoise request comes in and blows the Navy our of the water What do you think? Check out the website to see what other colours you can team this non-paper towel roll with

04.01.2022 Do you ever wish you were a fly on the wall when your Christmas gifts were received Id love to know how my eco creations are helping to change a families way of living.. These here were for a mum and daughter to use as face wipes in the bathroom. To save from wet wipes or cotton pads, and as easy as throwing them in the wash with your laundry

02.01.2022 Ditch flimsy, thin and ugly paper towel, and switch to pretty, absorent and washable non-paper towel

02.01.2022 I’ve been waiting for an order for these gumleaves so I could photograph them for my website and they did not disappoint Ps. How good is that caramel slice! And hubby made it gluten free so me and my 7yr old could enjoy it too

02.01.2022 Sometimes you just need a small bag to put stuff in! Not a plastic carrier bag, but not a whole big bag. Just a light, soft, zip bag that even waterproof... Thats where my handmade reusable ziplock bags come in handy. And once you start, you cant stop! I have sooo many in my odd and ends drawer: instead of sandwich bags. As they are BPA and lead free, they are food safe, so you can use the smaller ones for snacks. But I love to use them as a lunch bag, as they are waterpro...of, you can put a little ice pack in there too Has the thought of a reusable zip bag sparked an idea? See more
