24.01.2022 In every walk with nature you receive far more than you think or can possibly imagine. Nature heals and rebalances you every second. This happens via colour, sound, energy, heat, light, fragrances, movement just to name a few! Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings and feel-good hormones. Even 5 minutes can make a big difference to your endorphin and hormone levels :-) Research done in hospitals, offi...ces, and schools has found that even a simple plant in a room can have a significant impact on stress and anxiety. I believe this, I added a plant to my bathroom the other day and I can't believe how it has changed and uplifted the room! Nature enlivens your senses, balances and grounds you, which helps you bust away the stresses of life! So get out there, put it to the test! Find a plant or a natural location, go for a walk or just sit there, and 'Be'. See if you can 'Be' several times a week (no gadgets - you'll be ok, lol). Reckon instead of finding it hard you might just have yourself a great week!

22.01.2022 ! ! What do I mean by 'healthy'? Well, that means a laugh at a good joke - not at someone's expense. Studies show that laughing or ridiculing someone actually RAISES your stress and LOWERS your energy! And makes life HARDER. ... So keep it clean, and have a healthy laugh at some quality comedy or jokes. Lower your stress and lift your mood, your spirit and your morale. Keep yourself sane - don't take life so seriously 100% of the time! Do what ever you have to, to laugh! Find ways to laugh: comic strips, funny videos, comedies or joking with friends. Seek whatever makes you laugh out loud, and Enjoy!

21.01.2022 Greg came for help with his energy levels. He was exhausted in the mornings and finding it hard to face the working day. He had a new job which he initially liked, until he found out the boss would display his frustration and anger freely to anyone in earshot. When we started his stress level was 97%! His life force was only 11%. When we began consulting with his body, using his muscles to speak for him, the muscle movement indicated we had to go back to age... 13, and they locked on the word wrath. I explained wrath usually meant a punishment that was given out as a result of angering someone, who would then retaliate or punish the person who made them angry. I asked him if he knew what this was about? He said no, not really. We asked the body to indicate relevance of the word to Greg and it showed us that this stress came (in Greg’s perception) from his Mother. ‘What happened at 13?’ I asked. Greg’s Dad had separated from his Mum and his Mum was very upset and hurt. She would get angry easily. She got angry a lot. ‘How did that make you feel?’ I asked. ‘Sad’ he said ‘scared. And like everything was up to me’. ‘What do you mean by everything?’ I asked. ‘I felt it was up to me to make Mum happy, to make everything ok. To make sure we had peace and no arguments, or we’d get a walloping’. Wow, what a burden on a child, I thought. Greg felt he had to be peacemaker. ‘So how does that relate to your current situation?’ I asked. He immediately saw it: ‘God, that’s how I feel at work’. ‘So are you responding to conflict to work as you did when you were young, to conflict in the house?’. ‘Yep’ was his answer. Now he knew what was going on, all I had to do was help the body correct its imbalance, which we did through acupressure and the use of a flower remedy for the nerves and one essential oil to calm the brain. His stress at the end was 0% and his life force returned to 92% and rising. Two weeks later he reported great energy levels on getting up and no problems around the boss at work. He could even keep a small smile on his face, as he got on with his work while his boss droned on in the background. It simply didn’t bother him anymore. Not a bad result. How many people react to their workplace, and their workplace authority as if it was their stand-in family? A lot. You can have this awesome outcome too, just see your Kinesiologist and ask your body what you need to be well. Love AnikaB xxx

21.01.2022 A lot of us are all spending lots of time either alone or very close to others in isolation. And many of us are watching the news, seeing what is happening through this pandemic. The opinions of others, whether they are close to you, or on media of some kind, can trigger strong reactions in all of us. Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine it is considered unhelpful to have great swings of emotion? It destabilizes your energy, the energy which feeds your body syste...ms. It contributes to illness exactly what we are all trying to avoid! So when something you don't like come up, when something triggers your ego, take a deep breath, stand and walk outside. Then ask yourself, why you think that way? Notice where you placed your focus. Now ask: Can you see the other side of the situation? Help yourself by doing anything and everything you can to change your attitude, your disposition. These things that trigger you, they come to the surface so that you can notice them, and transform the thinking behind them, so they leave your life and you can embrace more of the authentic, joyful you within. If you want help transforming old patterns of thought and letting go of what you don't need any longer, reach out to me, or another kinesiologist or healer you trust, and begin enjoying positive change and peace in your life.

17.01.2022 When did you last lighten up and PLAY? Play is REALLY important! It is the wellspring of JOY! Something we have too little of in our lives in general in the world today. ... I want to encourage you to play! Whether it is with a pet, a family member, a friend, or even through online connection, PLAY (online gaming excluded for it's addictive action which cancels out joy). It's important to let your hair down and play as if you were a kid once again - but many of us have forgotten what play is - it is having fun FOR NO REASON. Just for fun...and this leads to Joy! So have fun with the simplest of things in your day, and have some good old fashioned simple fun. If you are busy, perhaps just for this weekend, stop focusing on the things that are so heavy. Stop focusing on, and just put aside for a while, the things that feel like a burden, on the things that feel like pressure. Switch your focus to appreciation - take a moment to be thankful for one thing -just one. Then, take a moment to call up and connect with your inner child. What could your Inner Child do that would be fun? This is different to you as an adult! As an adult you might like a walk, but your Inner Child might like to throw a stick for the dog! Connect to your Child - they know what is great for you! Maybe it's to play a board game, or a card game. Maybe it's to go into the kitchen and cook or bake. Maybe it's to put on music and dance. Or maybe it's to go into your closet and play dress up. I hope you can take sometime to allow yourself to REMEMBER how to PLAY. It is the best de-stresser ever. Enjoy! AnikaB xxx

I had this on my fridge for years, to help me take good care of myself and develop self loving actions: - feed yourself nourishing food and drink... - deal with the fear and hurt behind this - soothe yourself with nurturing acts (not foods), read, bathe, walk, spend time chatting to others. 16.01.2022 Do you ever notice that in our world it often seems to be in fashion to be busy. A busy person is often equated to being an important person. Do you have many things on your schedule, that keep you busy? Things that you could, with some thought and planning, eliminate from your list? Long lists are stressful and do not serve your health. When we have many things that we think we need to do, and when we don't get them all done, they weigh heavily upon our minds.That's when the... pressure and stress rises, and we have to try to schedule what we haven't accomplished Often, the things that we need to do, loop like a broken record through our thoughts. This takes up mental energy and sucks the very life force out of our being. And in the evenings, when we finally do stop and take a rest, many people find they really can't seem to relax. Often we are not able to replenish the energy that we've spent worrying throughout the day and we have troubles falling asleep, and this can start the cycle of being exhausted . A great practice is to take time each evening to ask yourself what are the 3 priorities you need to accomplish the next day, and what are the 3 tasks you would like to achieve. Then begin by doing the 3 priorities the next day. Writing them down allows you to get them out of your mind, to let them go.You will find this clears a lot of mental stress, and you may also have more energy! Once you have written them down and they are out of your mind, before bed, take the time to say to yourself: "I have no responsibilities right now, and I chose to allow myself to relax" :relieved: Continue to say it to yourself until it's easy and you believe it. It is only when our brain thinks that we no longer have a responsibility or no longer on call, that your brains and bodies can actually relax. I hope this tip is helpful to you all. Love, AnikaB xxx

16.01.2022 On a recent trip to Toowoomba I enjoyed a new local delicacy - the Violet Icecream - made of violet flowers. It was such an amazing experience! For the first time in my life I tasted a colour! I could taste the colour Purple! Yes, really! Incredible! This is called 'synaesthesia', apparently. The locals tell me that in Queensland a lot of people are driving to spend time in places they would not normally visit, in order to have a break from isolation. ... I know I enjoyed my recent trip, it inspired me immensely. Do you have any day or overnight trips planned?

11.01.2022 If you feel like you’re spending too much time and energy on one part of your life, your work-life-play balance may be off. It is critical to do all 3, for our mental, emotional and physical health. Most people are getting the hang of word-life balance, but they forget the 'Play'! Play is important - it is joy, for no reason other than joy! Who says as adults we should not have joy and fun and toys? Who says toys need to be restricted to children? Allow yourself to have fun... - it raises your vibe and improves your life in ways you can't even imagine. The best way to do this varies from one person to another, but here is a useful Tip: write 'Play' on a post it note, and then stick it onto a day or slot in your diary. Do it electronically if you need to. That day/hour is 'taken' for you to play. Do what you like - look through vintage cars online for parts, do some gardening, bike riding, crafting, play with your makeup, jewelry - anything you can find that has no reason whatsoever - and watch your Spirits rise! 10.01.2022 It's summer, and even with rain, we can dehydrate. Do you notice your lips or mouth being dry, or your lips cracking? The number one cause? Dehydration. Yep. So pick up that water bottle, add a touch of himalayan mineral salts, a teaspoon of juice or cholorphyll and take a sip - regularly. You will notice a HUGE difference in how you feel - physically AND in your MOOD, not to mention in your capacity to get work done! Do whatever you can just get water in your body. You can t...ry these apps that remind you! And hey, who can't drink while on their phone right? The Best Hydration Apps of 2020 Daily Water Tracker Reminder Hydro Coach WaterMinder Water Drink Reminder Aqualert And YES, soft drinks are NOT water. Tea and coffee are ESPECIALLY NOT counted as water - as it takes your kidneys one day and 335ml to filter a cup from your system! Milk and Energy drinks also DO NOT equal water - they USE up water in your body. As a simple guide, for every 50kg of body weight a person should consume 1.5litres of good quality water a day. Your joints require 1.1 litres a day just to lubricate them! That's what a human body needs - every day - every, single day. If you work out, or if it's a hot day you will need to increase that amount. One nice idea is to cut up fruit with in water let it sit for 8 to 12 hours within the refrigerator, it makes a kind of 'fruit/vitamin water'. Just don't use lemon or citrus too often as it can eat away at the enamel on your teeth (yeah, really!). Can you share below how you get water in your body so others can benefit from your ideas? 08.01.2022 If you find you are starting to have problems with the people in your life, or that you seem to have a similar problem with random people all the time, stop and take a look at the issue. Is there a common issue in each connection? What is the common issue? Is it criticism, shame, compassion etc? Then take a look at the other common denominator........... that's you. What we see in others is ALWAYS about ourselves - we see things through our OWN lenses, not the lenses of othe...rs! What we see acts as a mirror for ourselves! Yay! So, when you have an issue with others, see if you can find where in yourself you may have the same issue - then, instead of judging it, hold back, and instead transform it into a strength. How? Ask your body. It has the answers! You can access them through a therapy called Kinesiology - which allows your body to tell you what needs to be done to help you change and move out of difficulty into strength. 03.01.2022 This year I took up yoga again, specifically Yin Yoga, thanks to Wendy Barron who is an excellent Yoga instructor. Yin Yoga is reminiscent of how I originally learned Yoga back in the 1980's, long and slow and holding positions for quite a few minutes, allowing us to arrive into the position and connect with the body. I can't tell you how Blissed out I am afterwards. I was walking as if i was in complete alignment - an absolutely tranquil sensation of peace inside and out. ... Do you do Yoga? If so, what kind do you like, or recommend?

02.01.2022 FREEDOM IN ISOLATION I hope this little tip helps anyone who is looking for more freedom in their life today. I got to thinking about all the people who are in isolation or lockdown at this time and I really feel for anyone not being able to get out and about, especially be in nature. But then I remembered that we can have everything we want to enjoy, anytime! How? Well it's easy. You see, your brain does not know the difference between reality and what you are imagining.... I routinely demonstrate this to groups I talk to or teach through this simple experiment: if you are willing, close your eyes and take a few minutes to imagine yourself walking down a dark street at night, and hearing footsteps getting closer behind you, you will feel your breathing and pulse change, maybe even some adrenaline enter your system making your palms and armpits begin to moisten. So, did your body thing the imagined scene was real? Heck yeah! How amazing is that? And how important then, is it to put positive into your mind and not negative? Yeah. So instead of tuning into doom gloom and scare media, how about spending some time looking at beautiful memories in your mind-movie theatre? I know you have some beautiful ones tucked away, not seen for a while. You could also look at gorgeous pics of nature then close your eyes and imagine you are there with your 6 senses to make it AMAZING notice what see, hear, feel, taste, touch and ‘know' about the place you are in. I routinely imagine myself in my favourite place in nature and find myself smiling! That causes happy hormones endorphins, and it lifts my day. Enjoy! Love, AnikaB xxx
