20.01.2022 New logo and cards we recently completed for a client. The client wanted a clean, modern, minimalist logo, which I feel we achieved. The other challenge was to create a logo that worked on black and white backgrounds, and also could be used as black only for screenprinting so it could be used across various applications. The logo is also versatile and can be used in horizontal and stacked formats, as well as just an icon.

14.01.2022 Have a think about this Most people think that their business brand is related to their logo. While this is true, it is nowhere near what a brand is actually about. Maybe you think it’s to do with what colours and fonts you use? While this is also correct, this is also just a small percentage of what your brand is all about. When you have a sore back, who do you go and see? That’s right, you seek out the professional help of a chiropractor or physio. If you have a sore t...ooth, who do you go and see? That’s right, you go and seek the professional help of a dentist. So why do you, when it comes to the most important thing about your business, your brand, not seek out the help of a professional? You might find cheaper options, such as getting your friend to crack your back, or taking some Panadol for your sore tooth, but that’s ultimately not going to fix the problems you are having. The same goes for your branding without proper brand strategy behind your business, you will end up with a whole heap of temporary fixes, but not a long term solution that suits your business needs or goals. At the end of the day, if you value your business and desire to be the best in your industry, then why not have a brand strategy in place? HM



13.01.2022 I was just reading an article on when businesses should update their logos - which can be a daunting task believe me. (We have just changed our business name and logo!) Why you should consider updating your logo: 1. Being recognised as contemporary... By modernising your logo, you are giving the impression that your business is well aware of current trends and you are here to attend to the needs of both loyal and new customers. 2. Your logo is too complex Having a complex logo leaves consumers confused. The logo needs to be updated as soon as possible as it is not serving the purpose it was created for. A well thought out logo will project your business as more professional, experienced and trustworthy 3. Visual appeal for the audience that keeps evolving By being seen as someone who is constantly reinventing themselves, you stand out on a cluttered supermarket shelf! 4. Change in company focus and values Updating your logo lets you effectively communicate the new ideas and focus of your company. 5. Adapt to modern social media A good first impression will influence potential customers to check out your social media page and webpage, giving you valuable leads. 6. Standing out If your logo is not in sync with the current trends, consumers may move away from you, because after all, who wants to be associated with an ‘old world’ brand? It is, therefore, advisable to update your logo as you grow. Redesigning your logo isn’t an easy decision however if your logo doesn’t align with your current values it could be detrimental to your business’ success. 09.01.2022 Did you know the cost of a logo can range from 5 to 5 million dollars? I wouldn’t recommend a $5 logo, the designer will cut corners and you will likely end up with a copied designyou don’t want that. Why is there such a range in price? The answer is, the process. ... Low end ($100-900). What you get? A logo, that’s all. These logo designs generally will skip the design research phase. A logo shouldn’t be random and pretty for the sake of it. By skipping research, your logo will be a cliché, something seen a hundred times. How is that going to differentiate you from your competitors? It’s not. Mid end ($1000-3500+). What you get? A logo & basic branding guidelines. Designers will involve more research on your clients and competitors. This option won’t develop a brand, but can be a reasonable solution to freshen up your look. High end ($5000-5 million). What you get? An established brand, brand strategy, a logo that represents your personality and values. A team of designers and marketers, usually a team of 2 or 3 will work with you to build an overall brand. This results in a logo that creates brand recognition, giving you a competitive edge over your competitors. When consumers see you, they will trust you and will subconsciously will become loyal to your brand. Think Apple, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Pepsi. Although you may save some money on a low-cost logo today, you will need to invest more money later when you find it doesn’t represent you or your customers.
