18.01.2022 Why Study in Australia? With approximately more than 22,000 courses in 1,100 institutions, a great number of fields or study areas are available, making it high...ly likely that you can take up your choice of degree, training or course. The numbers above show that Australian education has the quantity and variety, but it is also worth noting that the country leads in quality. Seven out of the top 100 universities in the world can be found in Australia. Their university system also ranks 8th in the world, ahead of countries such as the UK, Germany and Japan. With these, Australia is recognized as a country that offers world-class education. The quality of education is important, but another significant aspect of choosing a location or university is student life. Australia, in fact, houses six of the forty best student cities in the world. A survey in 2012 even revealed that 88% of international student respondents are satisfied or very satisfied with living in Australia. This is not surprising, as Australia is considered to be the fourth happiest country in the world. Aside from these, the country and its government also make investments into international education. For example, there is more than $200,000,000 invested by the government annually for international scholarships. With these positive features of studying in Australia, it is no wonder that it is the 3rd most popular international student destination in the world, only behind the UK and the US.

12.01.2022 ARE YOU A GENUINE STUDENT? On 21 September 2016 the Tribunal dismissed an international students appeal declaring that he is not a genuine student and that he was getting enrolled in certificates to maintain his stay in Australia. The applicant had been in Australia since April 2009. There are a set of clauses in cl.572.223 of Schedule 2 to the Regulations that are brought under consideration before a Minister decides and gives a verdict in the case. Some of the interesting ...reasons of rejection, and those most students are unaware of are: If the Minister is unsatisfied of your future intentions in Australia If the Minister believes that the same course being undertaken in Australia could also be taken in the applicants home country If the Minister is unsatisfied by the applicants immigration history which might reflect some changes in courses, or depict any form of non-seriousness towards the course If your education history depicts instability if you are a student, please make sure you mention all these to your education agent lest weaken your case due to lack of information or failure to provide all and accurate information. 05.01.2022 EVERY STUDENT VISA APPLICANT IS NOW REQUIRED TO FULFILL THE GTE (GENUINE TEMPORARY ENTRANT) REQUIREMENT. The DIBP will accept a statement that you intend to genuinely stay in Australia temporarily. We recommend that you also explain the reasons for your choice in Australia and how your choice in course is relevant to your future. Examples of other evidence can include employment in the last 12 months, materials such as financial statements showing sufficient funds for study and living, alongside evidence of access to those funds, evidence of a job offer on the return home, evidence of financial or personal ties to the applicants home country, documents from previous study, letters from an employer explaining the need for skill development or evidence of professional outcomes following a shift in the applicants career direction.

03.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP For Australian citizenship you need to: be a permanent resident meet the residence requirements be of good character... intend to live or maintain a close and continuing association with Australia. To satisfy the residence requirements you must: have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for four years immediately before applying which must include the last 12 months as a permanent resident, and not have been absent from Australia for more than one year in total, in the 4 year period, including no more than 90 days in the year immediately before applying. Lawful residence means living in Australia on a valid Australian temporary or permanent visa. Its also important to realise that only 12 months of residence as a permanent resident is required. As a result, you can count up to 3 years of residence in Australia as a temporary residence towards the citizenship requirements. For example, if you have spent several years in Australia on a student or 457 visa, this can be counted towards the 4 year residence requirement . Children born in Australia to parents, who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents, automatically acquire Australian citizenship on their 10th birthday if they have lived most of their life in Australia.
