22.01.2022 This Girl Can VIC is back with free activities running in Warrnambool from March 22-28. This Girl Can is all about encouraging more women to give physical activity a go or return to exercise after a break.



19.01.2022 The Year 9 Atoms to Antigens Science class created some terrific posters on how to reduce the spread of Covid -19 and we thought it would be a great time to share them with the Brauer community. Thank you Alannah for this great reminder! We hope everyone enjoys the break and enjoys the sunshine!

18.01.2022 Several of our piano students had a Piano Soiree, which is a fancy term for musical gathering, via zoom this week, hosted by Piano Teacher and Band Director, Sonia Beal. Students took it in turns to play a piece that they have been working on this term. It was a great opportunity to hear what other students have been learning during lockdown 2.0!

15.01.2022 Lead4Innovation Program Moyne Shire Congratulations to the following Year 8 students who have spent the last 5 weeks working on the Lead4Innovation Program run by the Moyne Shire. Alannah Van de Camp, Amelia Fiedler, Stephanie Grist: Pocket Pal - a program to encourage primary school aged children to get moving.... Emily Saffin, Isabella Price and Patrick McCosker: A proposal to change the way the local community and government thinks about environmental clean-up. These students attended the remote program over 5 weeks where they worked together in groups with mentors to develop a "crazy idea" that could benefit our local community. The students then pitched their ideas to a range of local leaders and business owners at the Pitch Event earlier this month. All students spoke well and represented the school brilliantly. We hope that we will be able to support them in developing these ideas moving forward into Term 4.

15.01.2022 ORGANIC ART - Inspired By Andy Goldsworthy Year 8 Art Students created impressive artworks made out of natural organic materials inspired by environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy. Twigs, shells, bark, leaves, flowers, rocks and more where assembled in patterns to create movement, repetition and focal points. The colourful artworks demonstrated student skills in layout, composition, balance, space and proportion.... 13.01.2022 Each year Brauer students have supported Legacy by selling merchandise in the CBD. Due to Covid-19 the Warrnambool Legacy Club and our students have been fundraising in a different way. Merchandise, including these Legacy Bears are available for sale, along with badges, pens, key rings, bracelets and balls. Prices start from as little as $1 and the Legacy Bears are $10 each. 12.01.2022 SSV Virtual Track & Field Competition Well done everyone on the awesome ISO Olympic Trick Shot videos that were submitted over Term 3. Results and winners will be announced in Term 4. A new competition has been launched by School Sport Victoria and it encourages you to have a go at a range of Track and Field events at home. With the Spring weather bringing the goods, why not continue to stay active over the school holidays. ... The following events are what you can have a go at. You can attempt your favourite event or have a go at all of them if you wish: - 60m, 100m, 200m or 400m Sprint - 800m or 1500m Walk or Run - Standing Long Jump or Standing Triple Jump - Tennis Ball Shotput - Heptathlon Event complete in this order - 100m Sprint, Standing Long Jump, Tennis Ball Shotput and 800m run. Event Details Competition closes on Friday, 30th of October. Students can attempt one or as many events as they like. Students must have permission from their parents to submit their results. Prizes will be awarded to students from SSV if they are successful with any of their results. How to Submit Results The preferred method of submitting results is to submit them directly through the SSV website. Please see attached link for this process and further information on the competition: https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/Pag/SSVVirtualTrackandField.aspx The other method is that I can bulk upload results on behalf of all students. Leadership role in the College SRC Member Star Sign Cancer Hobbies Reading and Art things I would like to work in social service, like a youth worker or a councillor. My Favourite Charity is the Guide Dogs. If I could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, my grandma [on my mums side] because I connect to her a lot when it comes to conversation wise or just having her company. Kimberly H , she's a friend, she also really has great conversations when we talk about politics and anything in general [and she's funny] and my second oldest brother because I don't get to see him a lot and relate to him connately. In the future, I would like to see better education systems that explain how to do daily adult things, like taxes or finances. What I like most about Brauer is the the creative and non-creative range of subjects they have to offer and things to do [be it learning musical instrument and joining the extra curriculum activities. My Preferred study method is to visually study and doing the work as soon as posable so its not left too long My Dream Pets would be a Griffin, a Cocker Spaniel, a Chihuahua and an Australian Shepard. My favourite song is Micheal Buble: Save The Last Dance For Me, Kate Forsyth: The Blue Rose and You'll Never See Me Again by Lesley Pearse. My Favourite Book is The Outsiders by S.E Hinton and my favourite genres are romance. My greatest achievement so far is making it through all the years [only 3 but still] of school! [it sounds pretty lame, but its an achievement!]

My Favourite Charity is Make a Wish Foundation, because supporting youths with their dreams is very wholesome and I support them. It's nice to see a child be happy, even with serious health conditions. If I could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, they would be Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Tupac. In the future, I would like to invent a working AI controlled robot - seeing how things change and evolve is interesting, and I believe that robots are very intriguing and complex. What I like most about Brauer are the chances at leadership and community that it offers. My preferred study method is surfing the web you can find almost anything on the web. My Dream Pet would be a Sabre Toothed Lion I just hope he doesn’t become too aggressive. My Favourite Song Gangsters Paradise a great tune and good vocals. My favourite book genre is murder mystery. My greatest achievement so far was being featured on the radio for my piece of writing in Year 5, and also becoming Middle School Captain. I really enjoy going to Brauer College.

If I could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, Kim Taehyung, because he is my favourite artist and I feel like we could talk about anything for hours as we have similar interests. Park Jimin, he is a kind, loving and funny guy, we could laugh and talk for a long time. Bae Suzy, she is an amazing actor and singer, I would like to talk about her career and the struggles she has gone through. In the future, I would like to see a BTS concert because their concerts are absolutely amazing and 100% worth the money. They are incredibly talented when it comes to their singing and dancing, plus I’d feel like I’m at home because of ARMY (BTS fan base). What I like most about Brauer is I get to see my friends and have opportunities to do things I wouldn’t normally be able to experience. My Dream Pet would be a Chow Chow. My Favourite Singers are BTS. My Favourite book is All Fall Down, by Ally Carter and I love the fan fiction/romance/drama/realistic genre. My greatest achievement so far is staying up all night reading for 7 hours straight and then going to school and becoming a Middle School Captain.

If I could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, it would be Isaac Newton, Shakespeare and Winston Churchill so that I only have to pay my bill since they are dead and can’t eat. In the future, I would like to see world peace because if we bind together all of the worlds resources then the amount of things that we can do, become and learn are limitless. My greatest achievement so far was when I was nominated for the Youth Achiever awards in Year 7. I am a friendly student who is always up for a chat. I love meeting new people and making new friends. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to Business Manager, Jodie Keast who is a finalist for this year’s Victorian Education Excellence Awards. The Virtual Awards presentation is tonight and recognizes the inspirational Business Managers who improve the school and support children and young people to develop the skills, courage and curiosity they need to succeed in life. The Regional Director, Dr Wendy Timms, stated, It is important to recognize Jodie’s achievements and work at Brauer College in being identified as a finalist of this prestigious award. 02.01.2022 Term 4 Students doing a Unit are required for the GAT which is on Wednesday 7th October. They have already received information. (Please check information sent out by Mrs Jenkins, Mr. Richards and Mr. Alger) ALL students will be returning to the College on Monday 12th October and we are looking forward to seeing them all again. ... Students will be required to wear a face mask. The extensive cleaning program will also continue through fourth term. Thursday 8th October will be a catch-up day. Students will be advised to catch up or complete school work in readiness for the return to face to face learning. Uniforms will need to be tried on it has been a long time since the uniform has been worn! The uniform shop will be open all day on Thursday 8th October.
