24.01.2022 The little shelf above the coffee machine alcove for cups was a late addition but I am so glad we put it in. A place for everything in every kitchen- and I even got to sample the clients pizza from the Steelbrand pizza oven- . . 23.01.2022 My clients are diverse folk but without exception they are concerned about the environment and willing to live in a way that minimises their impact on it- and nobody more so than owner of this sweet kitchen @katlavers of plummery garden fame- she is currently using her annual leave to join the Stop Adani convey with bob brown. you can read about it and donate money to support the trip via the link in my profile. Let's support the good folk who are pressing pause on their live...s in order to protest the Adani mine and protect an already vulnerable region. captured by @__heart_land__ . . #interiordesign #bnekitchens #joinery #melbourneinteriors #design #melbournedesign #greendesign #theplummery #sustainableinteriordesign See more

23.01.2022 Next week my interview with the delightful Kribashini from @buildhercollective goes live- this series of interviews with design and build industry professionals is the newest venture of BuildHer Collective, a series of programs to educate, empower and support women who are building and renovating for themselves or for profit. If you are entering this process for the first time @buildhercollective can help you navigate the complex world of building and renovating with tenacity- What a great idea! 22.01.2022 The east end of #parkstreetcollective. Part of the @hipvhype community of Co working spaces- there are a few remaining desks in this gorgeous central space for a small business or anyone who is keen for a north facing, parkside workplace. Plus you get to hang with us and @sblastudio Pics by @kristofferpaulsen #sharedworkspace #designstudio

21.01.2022 The little project that could: This 2016 Peacock street project renovation in West Brunswick is the little project that could. Conceived in collaboration with Geometrica, this modest passive solar extension and reconfiguration of a dark and poky bungalow has transformed living for our happy clients. Last year it got a special commendation at the international Green Interior Awards in the residential renovation category and this year it has been nominated for the best kitchen in the Dwell magazine best of design awards. Vote for this project here and lets show the world good design can have humble intentions!

19.01.2022 It takes a lot of extra labour from a design and install point of view to work with repurposed joinery but it is always worth the effort and every time I do it it becomes a favourite part of the home for the clients- here is three occasions we used a second hand side table, Art Deco drinks trolley and railway lockers in different projects. #prestonhappyproject #peacockstreet #bungalowupcycleproject . . captured by @__heart_land__ #bnehomes #interiordesign #melbourneinterior #sustainableliving #ecointeriors

18.01.2022 Have a look over our 2018 end-of-year newsletter https://mailchi.mp/7b5606583c5a/braveneweco2018newsletter

17.01.2022 Our last day! And final patch and paint at our beloved @bigbang_studio creekside studio- after four special years we have moved to a new location, so much work was done here and so many good times with @putyourheartintoit @kelseyadabinett @erin.ender @stem_emmalinebowman @dylanbuckee @pipnormanmusic @tj_chpmn @amok_metres @alice.hobday.yoga and so many other good folk. The ’social architecture’ big bang is conceived from is real. Miss this bit of creek and this crew already!

17.01.2022 Brave new eco’s new home in North Carlton at #parkstreetcollective. We are happily ensconsed in the West side of this workspace that we share with landscape architect Simone and co of @slba_studio. Set up and run by @hipvhype there are a couple of remaining desks on the east side for another small business who is keen for a north-facing, parkside workplace. 16.01.2022 Water damage required this wall at barnclueth mansionette in Sydney to be sanded back- and the colours of paint underneath were so beautiful the owners kept it, what a happy accident. You can read all about this gorgeous house and its checkered past in on my blog - and see @pennywincer photos that I styled for Uk homes and antiques magazine a couple of years back. #australianinteriors #australianhomes

16.01.2022 Back at our #alphingtondreams project today as part of its evolution from large family home to multi-living scenario. These forward thinking nearly empty nesters are taking a different slant on downsizing and instead staying put and co-housing with their extra space. With an ageing population we will need lots more solutions like this to help density the suburbs and combat isolation. . . . captured by @__heart_land__... #bnehomes #interiordesign #melbourneinterior #greendesign #alphingtondreams See more

14.01.2022 Wowsers the Sacred heart precinct studio of @inkandspindle_ is soooo gorgeous. You couldn’t fake those layers of paint if you tried. I could have hung out there all day- @abbotsfordconvent

11.01.2022 After much anticipation we have finally launched our consulting services on the website. We have created this arm of the business to enable projects of all budgets and types to have access to sustainable design outcomes that get the fundamentals right. We have outlined four stages of the building and renovating process where people commonly need more input, however, the services can be tailored to each unique project. Feel free to get in touch to see how we could help. Our p...rincipal Megan, a leading expert in sustainable residential design, brings 14 years of experience with over a hundred households and projects to your table. As part of our ongoing commitment to climate change action we are currently donating $250 from consults booked in the next two weeks to our friends at Climate for change as part of their annual fundraiser. http://www.braveneweco.com.au/consultation https://c4c2019.raisely.com/climatechampions

06.01.2022 We used the lightest touch of restoration on this original 1060’s sitting room in our #yarravilliaproject. Decorative plaster pellets were carefully removed. Painted and reinstated, original 50mm hardwood floors oiled, sundisk wall lights re-anodized and re-hung and relief wallpaper sealed and painted over with this divinely pretty pink paint.

03.01.2022 Early concept render for the interior of a new home on Merri creek- a design collaboration with @antmartarch and @sblastudio. Windows and in and walk linings are going on so we will soon be able to get started on the custom joinery that is throughout this extraordinary home. Pretty excited to see this one come together.

03.01.2022 HOME LIGHTING choices are often chosen as an after-thought, missing the opportunity to maximise efficiency and to access the potential health, functionality and aesthetic benefits of good lighting design. The earlier lighting is addressed in the design and build process, the more likely sustainable and appropriate choices will be made before time, patience, and budget run out. Read our latest blog post all about home lighting design. Link in profile. . .
