25.01.2022 Ruby and puppies are doing well. As advised previously there are no puppies available at this stage. Please do not think breeding is easy. If I had not of acted when i did it may be a completely different story. I am extremely grateful to Phil Thomas and staff at QVS where they go above and beyond. Below is part of the report I received on discharge. Fly-by oxygen immediately; IV access to RT cephalic vein and Hartmanns @ 10ml/kg/h.... GA (alfaxalone to effect, iso/O2) and routine midline exploratory laparotomy approach to the uterus - single incision made at the base of the RIGHT horn just caudal to the frenulum which divides the two horns on the ventral surface of the uterine body - 4 pups delivered to neonatal ICU for resuscitation - including the pup born at home there are 3 female and 2 male pups - 1 male pup that was causing the obstruction was depressed and bradycardic at birth and required considerable resuscitation - anatomic scan: all pups are anatomically WNL (within normal limits) - after resuscitation pups were placed in an ICU oxygen tent with forced warm air to create a warmed tent with tent air at 30C and supplemental oxygen until discharge Aetiology: there was a pup at the base of the RIGHT horn which was causing an obstruction at the level of the uterine body All pups treated with fresh frozen plasma from "colostrum" bank by oro-gastric tube: 1ml per pup, twice one hour apart. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks
