09.01.2022 An exemple of a centralised teaching/managing approach. This paradigma has been shifting for the past couple of decades, and as usual the protagonists are the 'ronins', the misunderstood ones, those at the margins... This shift caused by the use of the internet will get even stronger with the #COVID-19 pandemic. Distributed approaches to teaching/managing groups will rise and get stronger. The irony is that these approaches are much closer to the loose and organic way capoei...ra was organised and experienced in its zeitgeist era in black and poorer neighbourhoods of late 19th and early 20th century in Bahia. Much in the same way supply chains will be forced into bioregional areas, Capoeira will become more 'regional' in the same original sense used by mestre Bimba ("my capoeira is regional because it doesn't come from Angola"). Are you, capoeira, prepared to nurture your practice locally? Are you prepared to give meaning and a foundation for your Capoeira without the need for a 'worldwide circuit' of events?? In a very near future a capoeira life/career based on international flights won't be possible anymore. Where are you anchoring the meaning of your practice??!
