25.01.2022 Free water program ends Council resolved at its meeting on 9 December to cease the Free Water for Verified Primary Producers as of 18 December and to revert to the normal price of $5 per kilolitre for standpipe (bulk) water sales. The free water for verified primary producers was a drought relief measure adopted by Council to promote a limited free bulk water supply for drought affected rural customers. ... The scheme has been in place since 5 September 2018 and Council has previously resolved to cease the scheme if the drought declaration was removed from the Bathurst Regional Council area. 23.01.2022 Using our off-leash dog exercise areas Council has two fully fenced and dedicated off-leash dog exercise areas. They are located on Kefford Street and Hector Park off Rocket Street. Its a great opportunity for dogs to have a run, play and socialise with other dogs and humans. Whilst it is very important for dogs to have exercise, it is particularly important that when using these off-leash areas that the owner/handler has effective voice control of the dog. ... Dogs which are known to exhibit anti-social behaviour with other dogs or people, should be exercised with a leash on.

16.01.2022 Council now has ownership of a key piece of land near the Bridle Track from a deceased estate necessary for the road bypass near Monaghans Bluff. Council has obtained $2 million in funding from the State Government for improvements to The Bridle Track. The bypass around Monaghans Bluff is around 2km. Over $200,000 in works conducted so far have improved access for residents and tourists. This includes road widening and maintenance works on various sections of the road.... 08.01.2022 The Children at Bathurst Regional Council Children's Services Scallywags Long Day Care and Preschool took great pleasure in creating four individual canvases for the walls of the local Bathurst Uniting Safe Shelter. The Shelter Cafe operates from 12-2pm, Thursday to Sunday, in the shelter rooms at the back of the Uniting Church - William Street. The Cafe offers guests a hot meal, drink, change of clothing and a sleeping bag if needed along with a friendly smile. The Cafe is ...run by 26 community volunteers and 15 1st year paramedic students from Charles Sturt University. The children hope their canvases add a smile to the faces of people who visit the cafe.

Many of these offences were opportunistic, meaning offenders were able to take advantage of unlocked doors, windows or unsecured garages or sheds. ... Council received a $40,000 grant by the NSW Government as part of the NSW Crime Prevention grant to conduct a public awareness campaign to reduce resident's risk of becoming a victim of break and enter.
