23.01.2022 We are feeling nostalgic. And we are feeling a little sad. Our Facebook memories keep reminding us that this is normally Auction season. Our team of Auction volunteers would normally be either getting to the pointy end of the stick or riding the post-Auction high around now. But not this year. This year Covid has changed everything, including the Auction. So we decided enough was enough. Lets stop being sad about what we cant do and work out what we can do!... We are doing an Auction. Itll be different. Itll be Covid style. Somethings will be the same though. Youll still get a chance to support the amazing work that our team does to support our Breakaway kids. 23.01.2022 Recently we delivered our final (hopefully) Care Packs to the amazing young people in our program. I's been a challenge to come up with new and creative ideas for items to include in the packs, And our fantastic of volunteers and staff did an awesome job. 22.01.2022 Its almost time for the Breakaway Auction 2020! We have been a bit quiet over the past few weeks, while we beavered away securing donations and working out how... we can best present an auction experience that is true to the real Breakaway Auction vibe, while still being relatively easy for our volunteers to manage. We are excited that weve now locked in our online auction platform and we are working hard to get that set up asap! While thats been happening, we have been blown away by our wonderful donors contacting us offering things for the Auction. We never intended to try and replicate the amazing thing that is the Breakaway Auction. We knew that it would be different this year. But we continue to have supporters contact us and say "Hey, what about this for the Auction?" For this we are so grateful! So, whats in store this year? In just ONE WEEK, we will be kicking off. Breakaways Director, Paul Coleman, will be coming to you LIVE at 8pm next Wednesday. Hes got so much to share with you about what Breakaway has been doing during these challenging Covid times, and about what might be next for our youth. Then we will see the return of our much-loved auctioneer, Stuart Buckingham - Buckingham and Company who will auction off LIVE a couple of our favourite auction items. What will it be? Will the infamous meat tray make an appearance?! Youll have to tune in and find out! In the meantime, here is just a sample of the fantastic items we will have up for grabs. All your old favourites are back, with a huge range of accommodation options for all around Victoria. Dont panic, our accommodation donors have been really supportive (as always!) and are willing to work to find a time that suits you, them, and the government. 22.01.2022 Its back! After its amazing performance for two years, we have again secured a Yarra Valley ballooning experience for two adults with Global Ballooning for our Auction this year. This amazing experience includes a 1 hour mid-week sunrise balloon flight over the breath-taking scenery of the Yarra Valley wine region, with an optional champagne breakfast after the flight at a local winery. Hot air ballooning is an audience participation activity and you will be encouraged to as...sist with the set up and pack away of the balloon itself. 22.01.2022 About 2 weeks ago our wonderful leaders got together on @zoom_video_communications and had one goal in mind. How can we keep in touch with the young people? As a team we camp up with a bunch of awesome ideas on how we can stay in touch. One thing we thought we could do right now to show support was to make up care packs for our young people full of snacks, ready to go cookie mix, something to help them exercise, Easter eggs! and bunch more to help keep busy in this time. Plu...s a few challenges so we can meet up over a Zoom chat and touch base face to face! Overall it took all day and night to make up the care packs and personally deliver them to each and every campers house, while keeping within the rules of social distancing of course. They showed fantastic initiative and determination and raised enough to buy this awesome pizza oven! 08.01.2022 We continue to find ways to support young people here at Breakaway. Recently we delivered another round of Care Packs to the Breakaway young people and as expected they were accepted with smiles and delight. We also put together packs for younger siblings so they didnt feel left out.

Thanks to some donations after the final calculate button had been pushed, we can share that we did in fact beat last year. WOW. ... We are so humbled by this amazing support. After its cracking debut last year, we are pleased to welcome back this 45 minutes joy flight in an original Tiger Moth bi-plane! This 45 minute flight departs from and returns to the airport at Point Cook and will truly satisfy every flight urge you may have! This flight covers the City and Beaches of Melbourne from the coastline of Port Phillip Bay through to a sceni...c city loop on the way back. 04.01.2022 ITS ON! As promised, no more wishful thinking about Auctions past. We cant change the pandemic - but we can try and make things a little brighter for the kids in our care. Heres where you can help! We are holding an auction - but itll be different, itll be Covid style. We will gather in our living rooms, and be part of an online event.... We will be launching the event at 8:00pm, on Wednesday, 23rd September, with a Facebook LIVE from Breakaways own Paul Coleman. Each night of the event, we will release a number of items that will be up for grabs. Youll need to tune in every night to see whats on offer - or have someone watching for you! Just like at our normal Auction, we expect things will go fast! The event will conclude with another LIVE from Paul on Saturday, 26th September, where he will hopefully share with us the outcome of the event, thanks to you, our generous supporters. We know our awesome Auction team has everything under control for Saturdays big event! Heres a few reminders in the lead up to Saturday night...!... * Tickets are still available at www.trybooking.com/ezvp We would love to have everyone registered before arriving so please pre-purchase. Tickets will of course still be available at the door. * All your finger food and drinks are included in the ticket price, no BYO is permitted under the venues liquor license rules. If you have a special food needs and this was not included when you booked tickets, please email the Auction team ASAP on [email protected] * We can accept cash, credit card, or EFTPOS to settle up on the night.
