23.01.2022 We would like to acknowledge the ongoing effect that COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has and will have on tourism in our region going forward. Many events are currently ...being cancelled or postponed due to the recent restrictions on non-essential gatherings. We will continue to update our events calendar, website, and social media content to present the most accurate information possible. To our wonderful visitors, we understand that the current pandemic has many of you deeply concerned. We urge that rather than cancelling your visit to our region, consider postponing your trip instead. 20.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW ABOUT COWRA'S HISTORIC TURKEY MARCH? Believe it or not, this image was captured on the Cowra Bridge in April 1950 when Turkey Breeder and Grower,... Reuben Armitage Jacobs transported his 3,000 turkeys by foot from one farm to another. The distance covered was some 30 km. It took 3.5 days to travel from Woorara, along the Canowindra road, across Cowra Bridge over the Lachlan River and then all the way to Marandoo, Bumbaldry. A newspaper article at the time reported that The birds were shepherded by six men and four puzzled dogs, and the flock of turkeys responded to the droving just like a mob of sheep. They also claimed that not a single bird was lost during the march. . . . Cowra Family History Group Inc #Cowra #VisitCowra #UnearthCentralNSW #DidYouKnow #Turkeys

18.01.2022 The entry to the Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre looks stunning with the Cherry Blossoms along the path in full bloom. Many of the trees in the Garden... are blossoming now, some are just beginning.......the blossoms have arrived around two to three weeks earlier than in previous years so the Garden will be at its most vibrant over the next week to ten days. 16.01.2022 There are not too many things that are worth taking photos of in the middle of the day, but canola definitely works at any time. The contrasting colours of yel...low and blue mean one can take photos all day long. Definitely not a technical image, just a point and shoot, but one that captures the feeling of standing at the fence line on the day. Cowra Tourism Corporation Visit Cowra Visit NSW Australia.com
