25.01.2022 Some photos from the last few weeks. With the necessary restrictions with covid 19, breakthru have continued to provide supports individually, in the home or community. This week we returned to some modified activities within the centre, which has been absolutely awesome. It was lovely to see friends back together again, appropriately socially distanced of course and precautions in place, but enjoying each other’s company. The last few months have certainly been a reminder to appreciate the good things in life, and our social groups and friends and breakthru community certainly top the list.
20.01.2022 A busy few weeks with some returns to work placement, out and about in our community, getting creative with art, amazing projects in the shed, fitness and exercise and great life skills. We had some much missed faces return to some activities and looking forward to the return of others!

16.01.2022 Was great to spend some time this morning with Penny on her work placement at Shady Rock. She was kept busy tending to the ducks, birds, guinea pigs and fish. Penny is doing a great job and is very much valued by her mentor Aurely who gave very positive feedback about Penny’s work. Thanks for the support Aurely and keep up the great work Pen!
16.01.2022 A massive thankyou to Andrew and his awesome team from Forsyths Coonabarabran for their extremely generous donation. All staff throughout the year donate money from each pay, which is then matched by the business, to support a local charity at the end of the year. We are extremely appreciative that they chose breakthru Coonabarabran this year! Another amazing local business supporting our service and our local community.
15.01.2022 The shed has been a hive of activity for the last few weeks, with some great new projects being started. Stay tuned for some completed projects photos soon.
15.01.2022 Well done to our guys for continuing to work hard on their individual goals. Grant, aka Taz has been studying hard for his First Aid Certificate. Taz needs the certificate to take advantage of an exciting opportunity offered by Macca at the gym, but more on that later. A few of the crew have goals around increasing independence, shopping and budgeting, learning to cook and how to prepare healthy nutritious meals, which you can see the commitment and success from the photos. Congratulations for having the commitment and perseverance to continue to work towards your goals your awesome!! Thankyou too to staff for your encouragement and support
14.01.2022 Taking advantage of the nicer weather to get outside, Graham and Dave headed out the back to the swings and trampoline. Graham was very relaxed and enjoyed listening to some stories from Maree and Dave conned Maddi with his gorgeous smile to keep pushing him on the swing
13.01.2022 The crew have been busy out and about, enjoying the beautiful sunshine Lovely to see the countryside looking lush and green. LG ....Life’s Good
13.01.2022 Saturday the breakthru crew made the trip to Mudgee to watch the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the St George Dragons. Rabbits started slow but finished strong to again take the shield. Some of our group were happy and others not so much. It was nice to have a quick catch up with some of the Dubbo breakthru crew. Nice too to catch up with our friends from the NRL referees squad. Thanks Bern for giving Taz a tour of the bunker and for the guys giving us their game gear, we really appreciate it!! Thankyou Dee, Jess, Doug & Larissa for putting in a long day and very late trip home, your support is very much appreciated. Our annual trip to Mudgee was enjoyed by all!

06.01.2022 Another full on month of activities. The groups going on tour around our local district and further afield. It was great to catch up with our good friend Imogen in Narrabri and enjoy a game of ten pin. We even got to go mushrooming for the first time in years after the beautiful rain, just shows that the simple things in life can bring you the most pleasure. It was great this month to support the guys getting together and planning and brainstorming activities and reviewing individual goals and celebrating outcomes. Good stuff breakthru crew, lots of exciting achievements with many more to come in the near future.
04.01.2022 We started a new activity for some of the guys last week, with orienteering in the beautiful Warrumbungles. What a great way to spend the morning, developing skills, increasing fitness and taking in the gorgeous nature. Feedback was positive and everyone was looking forward to the activity over the coming weeks. Thanks Ron and Doug for the planning and support.
04.01.2022 Meg was missing her interaction with the horses, and the wonderful people, at RDA. Little Leroy was missing some love and attention. Put the two together once a week and we have two very happy beings. When asked what she felt about her new friend Meg replied I just love him
