21.01.2022 If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you Day 1 of iso 2.0 and we are all smiles hitting our first home workout. We might be getting very friendly with the dumbbell and kettlebell over the next 6 weeks but if CrossFit has taught us anything you don’t need much to keep fit! We are going to face this head on and as a community and we are so lucky to have each other over the next 6 weeks! #breakwaterathletics



21.01.2022 The never ending pursuit to be better. There is no such thing as weaknesses, just opportunities to learn and become better. Working on something you find challenging is humbling and requires a positive attitude. Don’t hold yourself back due to fear of failing or you will never learn. 20.01.2022 Read that again. Heading into our last few weeks of lockdown () it’s time to revisit your goals. What does success look like for you? People often underestimate their potential out of fear of failing. Without mistakes there is no opportunity to learn. Take some time to write your goals down and think about how you will achieve them in the coming months. Our advice would be to share these with your coach that contacts you every week or a friend. You are much more likely to... achieve your goals if you are accountable to someone. Keep working hard everyone, we are almost there #breakwaterathletics

19.01.2022 Grit . . Today’s session was all about grit. We had a long snatch/overhead squad complex and a toes to bar wallball metcon. Our crew put in 100% effort in every session which we love to see! Amazing start to the week, keep grinding everyone .... . We are so thankful that we have such an interactive online community supporting each other Whether you are smashing home training or you are just trying to get through, it doesn’t matter. Give yourself a break and take the pressure off. 12.01.2022 OUTDOOR CLASSES Our outdoor class kicks off tomorrow morning at 6:30am and we couldn’t be more excited Just a few reminders to our members: ... Please make sure you have booked in via the ‘Push Press’ app. Please check out SugarWOD ‘ISO-WOD 2.0’ for equipment you’ll need to bring along (DB, KB, Skipping Rope) as we don’t have any of these left at the gym. (This workout will be modified for those of you who wish to use a barbell) Please bring along a towel / yoga mat We won’t have access to the showers or toilets, however there is a toilet block over by the tennis courts. Classes may be cancelled due to poor weather, please keep an eye out on here for updates. If you have any other questions send us a message! #breakwaterathletics



11.01.2022 Resilience; the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. Unfortunately we will have to keep our doors shut for a bit longer, we don’t have an exact opening date yet but we will keep updating you. We are missing our community but all good things come to those who wait and we are waiting patiently! We are planning to take advantage of every step the government has mapped out so once restrictions ease we will start outdoor group sessions We really appreciate the ongoin...g support from our members and we want to give back to you as much as we can. We will continue with our zoom classes, online community and social nights, as well regular contact with all members from a coach. We know this is a really tough time for everyone so if you are struggling please reach out, we are here to help. Try your best to focus on your nutrition, movement and routines over the next few weeks and make sure to check on your mates. 08.01.2022 Swinging into a new week and new training phase If there is anything more motivating then a new week, it’s a new training cycle! We are now 5 weeks back into the gym and it has been fabulous to see you all embracing the journey, taking the time to work on your Olympic Lifting technique and your Gymnastics progressions. ... This new training cycle and will include a test week. Bring on 'Open Season Preparation' Test Week will include: Monday: Conditioning & Interval pieces Tuesday: Clean & Jerk Wednesday: Snatch skill work - this will be a regular weekly complex. Anaerobic Conditioning (short & sharp!) Thursday: Active recovery Friday: Front Squats (not test) Saturday: Deadlift & Intervals The first week of a new phase sets you up for the next few weeks of training. It’s all about showing up and doing your best as well as encouraging everyone else Bring on an epic week of fitness! #breakwaterathletics

07.01.2022 Lockdown 2.0 If you haven’t already heard stage 3 restrictions will be enforced as of midnight Wednesday night for 6 weeks hopefully ending on the 13th September. We will be giving our members plenty of information over the next few days about how we plan to support you through the next few weeks. But firstly we would like to say this..... It’s ok to feel upset, disappointed, stressed, overwhelmed or whatever emotion you are feeling. So much information in one day is a lot to process so we won’t bombard you. Take time, give yourself a break and be kind to yourself and people around you. It is tough for everyone in Victoria right now and we want to reassure our community that we are here for you just like you have all been here for us. We will be extremely sad to close the doors again but no challenge can stop us moving forward Thank you to our amazing community for the ongoing support #breakwaterathletics
