24.01.2022 What do/did you call your unborn #baby / #babies during #pregnancy? What do/did you call your unborn #baby / #babies during #pregnancy?

23.01.2022 This morning. All welcome. See you there https://fb.me/e/1V4t0nE0H

22.01.2022 Meet Rebekka, a volunteer with the Swan-Mundaring group "In need of a career change and drawn to helping people, I followed the path that led me to become a volunteer with ABA. I attended my first group meet with the idea to become a breastfeeding counsellor, but definitely stayed for the friendships, discussions and cake! I've just officially completed my training and have become a breastfeeding counsellor, and attend every Monday's group meetups for Swan-Mundaring Group,... 4 Mudalla Way, Koongamia. At home, I'm a uni student studying part-time to become an IBCLC, and I'm full-time Mum to Lukas (4yo) and Mikayla (2yo). I secretly (or not so secretly) love baking so always bring a special treat with me to our weekly meets during the school term. I'm really looking forward to our discussion on Breastfeeding Toddlers, as I wouldn't have ever thought that would be me - but here we are! Join us Mondays from 9:30am."

20.01.2022 WHAT a jaw-dropping story from #mum Jemma & #baby Zac #loveahappyending ‘ABA was here for me when my son's arrival didn't go to plan. He was born at term but he needed help breathing and we were transferred from Gladstone (QLD) to Brisbane for the NICU. We were flown on separate planes, both as patients. I'd experienced a postpartum haemorrhage and also needed care during the flight down. The stress of the ordeal was difficult but one factor in particular that concerned ...me was establishing breastfeeding. My milk was coming in and I was so engorged but my son wasn't strong enough to feed at the breast yet. I became really anxious with the 'what ifs' and I phoned the Breastfeeding Helpline. The counsellor I spoke with was empathetic, kind and supportive, reassuring me with ideas and different approaches to try. 'I expressed for the first 5 days of Zac's life. I struggled as I found pumps didn't empty me enough. Thankfully 5 days after he was born, staff in the Special Care Nursery supported us through our first feed and it went very well. Finally the engorged feeling had lifted! Following that, all feeds during the day were at the breast and night feed were expressed breastmilk through a nasogastric tube. I would wake in our accommodation every 3 hours and pump. Once we were transferred home to Gladstone, we spent a night in hospital to ensure Zac was coping with a full day of suck feeds at the breast. He was a dream to feed and fed on demand once we were home. I breastfed Zac until he was 14 months old and loved feeding him. Several times throughout this time in Brisbane ABA supported me to feel confident and equipped with knowledge to establish and continue feeding.’ Jemma, Queensland >> breastfeeding.asn.au #abaishereforyou #ozbreastfeeding & bravo #rfds See more
