25.01.2022 Morning Hatha Tomorrow!!

25.01.2022 I am often asked the question what kind of Yoga do I teach? What is Yoga fusion? The truth is, it is an ever evolving process. A fundamental theme and mantra in all that I teach is connection with your intuitive self. Feel and listen and be led from within. ... The capacity for Healing is already there, my role is to help guide you to remember that which you already know and have the capacity to access. To help guide you to hear, feel and listen to intuitive wisdom within. Your essential nature. Some of the styles of practice I thread into our classes include: * A combination of traditional Hatha & accessable Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga. * Mindful Movement and Somatic Flows, Inquiry & Exploration. * And Energy Medicine Yoga. (Hence the reason I have attached this article on The Meridians in the Human Energy System). The power of The Universe is Within every single beautiful cell of Your Divine Being! Love Sharlene

16.01.2022 This week its all about the Spine in Early Morning Hatha - be guided through a gentle but effective series to open, release and rejuvenate yo...ur delicate Spine. Our spinal column houses and protects our spinal cord, running down our skeletal spine from our head to our tailbone. The spinal cord is the pathway for neurons to travel throughout the body and therefore responsible for communicating messages to and from our brain in our nervous system. By gently opening the spaces between our vertebrae we are able to nourish these neurons with fresh blood supply which not only relieves the spine but also helps manage depression, anxiety and stress. Forward folds massage digestive organs and soothe the adrenals while Backbends stimulate the central nervous system. Twisting movements enjoy similar benefits while also squeezing and increasing blood flow to the intestines, aiding in detoxification. Wednesday 6.30am-7.30am!! See more

14.01.2022 Extra special last Family and Children's Yoga in the Church today... A few yrs ago I wrote and recorded a Creative Visualisation script / story for children (and the child within too ) ... called The Shepherds Flute....I was Blessed in that My Beloved Teacher done the voice over for it. Today at the end of class we laid down in Savasana and listened to The Shepherds Flute then drew our experience. Each child got to take a C.D home with them...... For me this was very symbolic and a Blessing to have this beautiful group of Souls partake in a small part of My Teachers energy too. Such a beautiful ending to another chapter preparing for next adventure starting in January... So much grattitude. Love S.

13.01.2022 Sabine is back at Breathers tonight

11.01.2022 When we encounter danger, our system responds by signalling a spike in the release of certain hormones such as cortisol and epinephrine until the danger has pas...sed and the body can return to the rest-and-digest, or parasympathetic state. With ongoing stimulation, the hypothalamus eventually becomes less responsive and causes major disruptions in cortisol natural rhythms. The sympathetic nervous system is highly useful in situations of real danger however, in today’s fast paced society, we are constantly stimulated and triggered by everyday situations, leading to a hypersensitivity to environmental stressors. Our brains are unable to differentiate between a perceived risk and an actual risk, therefore our bodies are reacting to non-threatening situations in the same way it would if there really was a lion chasing us. Each time this system is triggered, more of these stress hormones are released into the body. This means the adrenal glands need to work harder to keep up with the demand but over time become exhausted. Furthermore, to ensure survival our bodies begin to prioritize these stress hormones over others, therefore nourishing and protective hormones such as progesterone, estrogen and testosterone become depleted. The scariest thing about that is these hormones are unable to convert back to their original state, even after the danger has passed. Depletion of these crucial sex organs can result in symptoms such as muscle atrophy, infertility, insomnia, dry skin, joint stiffness, accelerated ageing, mental decline, and digestion complaints. Increased levels of cortisol causes decreased hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which can lead to bloating, nausea, diarrhea and flatulence, as well as nutritional deficiencies. So as you can see, it's really important to keep your adrenals running smoothly, which can only be done by slowing down. Mindful practices such as Yoga and Meditation are imperative to managing chronic stress and are very effective at activating the Rest and Digest mode. This week in Early Morning Hatha we will be giving some much needed attention to our Adrenals and other Endocrine glands, as well as working on reducing overall stress and anxiety WEDNESDAY 6.30AM-7.30AM See more
