19.01.2022 Challenging times for all at the moment. It sometimes seems that the anxiety and panic people are experiencing are bigger then the virus. Remember that when we practice being calm our immune system functions more robustly. Following are some simple ideas to help the mind and body cope. Focus on your breathe for one minute. Look at the clock and time it. Slow, steady, full breaths. Over time, see if you can extend the amount of minutes. The more often you practice this, (a...nd the more minutes) the more effective it will be. Download a meditation app. An example is Smiling Minds. You can choose the time amount, subject ,focus and it is a great technique to use before you go to bed. Listen through your earphones to help focus your attention. Limit the time that you listen/watch the news. Its on a 24 hour loop. Our brains don't need that bombardment and only take information from a reliable source. Focus on helping others first. I know its mad right but when we focus on others, this is an opportunity to help many. When we focus on ourselves, we are just helping out one. Stay connected. Text, email, facetime, zoom. It doesn't matter. Stay connected to the fact that we are all human and want the same things. Love, kindness and freedom from suffering. Stay well and healthy. 19.01.2022 Give your self some time to smell the roses. Or lavender in this case! Evening classes are great for getting a sense of winding down and not having to do much for the rest of the day. 14.01.2022 Yesterday a colleague was telling me a story about being in a yoga class and the teacher getting cranky because she wouldn't do a head stand. For me, this is not what yoga is about. This experience was dealing with someone else's ego. Firstly. For me, yoga is about connecting to the wisdom in your own body. Not what someone else is doing or saying for you to do if that is not comfortable for you. Simply being totally focused on understanding what your body needs to become a...nd stay healthy. Secondly. Your neck is designed to hold your head! Not the weight of your body. Same for your wrists - designed to hold the weight of you hands, not your whole body weight. The amount of people who speak with me about injuring their neck or their wrists trying to do a hand stand is worrying. These postures need to be learned with a highly experienced teacher who provides excellent support and training, if you need to learn them at all ???. Thirdly. ALL exercise should be to increase your wellbeing. To be carried out in a safe effective manner to decrease the risk of injury. Be mindful of the long term and immediate health of all of your body. Any way that was my cranky. Please feel free to experience a Breathe Yoga Bliss class. We will improve the strength in muscles and increase the circulation of energy and oxygen around the body. Release any tension holding in a muscle and have a space to just slow down our productive always happening thoughts. 08.01.2022 I really like the simplicity of this. We are all transitioning so its a matter of allowing your feelings to be noticed. Hopefully this awareness will help us to respond rather then react. Be well and safe.

You focus on your breath: breathing from the diaphragm stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, your bodies rest and digest system : Narrows your focus down to how your body feels- less info flooding in to the brain : releases well being endorphins : releases muscles tension : increases the flow of blood and therefore energy around the body.
