24.01.2022 It's a New Year and with it comes a fresh opportunity to shape our world.

24.01.2022 We still have a long way to go to have equity for women and girls worldwide. Here's to women (and all people who identify as female) everywhere. #ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021

24.01.2022 Why is change so hard? Humans experience a psychological response to change because of our desires for constancy and attachment to habits. When challenged with change it is possible to feel a mix of emotions from hope and excitement to anxiety and anger. Taking new and unfamiliar action in old situations can feel frightening and you may wish to go back to 'old' ways. Try to get through the discomfort of the new and see if the new way works better for you. Whatever your changes may be, remember setbacks, intense emotions, and relapses are common and can be managed as part of the behavioural change process. Reflect and be kind to yourself as you work through your new frontier of change.

19.01.2022 By joining hearts and voices, individuals, communities and societies can transform the world every day and everywhere. Zero Discrimination Day is a moment to highlight how everyone can become informed and promote tolerance, compassion and peace. #zerodiscrimination

19.01.2022 At first, setting your boundary with someone can feel really daunting, like climbing a mountain! Boundary setting is like building up your muscles, the more you repeat the action, the easier the job becomes and the stronger you get. In time, the fear of potential consequences fades and you can become more confident with expressing your needs to others.

19.01.2022 Celebrate yourself and all that you have achieved this year! Take the time to acknowledge and appreciate your successes! When we do this we release positive energy and endorphins which fuel our motivation and self-esteem to achieve our next goal - no matter how big or small. Remember you are worthy of love and belonging.

18.01.2022 There is a deep-seated acceptance in our culture that being single is the result of something negative the person is doing that reflects their worth and value. Remember you determine your own worth and value. Sing it!

18.01.2022 Setting a boundary with another is you putting yourself as a priority. In this way, you are choosing to free yourself of past rules for thinking and being.

10.01.2022 Sometimes social media can be counter productive! It's okay to have a break from these platforms to recharge your sense of self.

09.01.2022 Even though we are not always able to talk, having the comfort of company and support in silence can be enough to help someone who is struggling. @nathanwpyle2 Art https://www.facebook.com//a.137715605903/3465456300205675/

09.01.2022 Check out Beyond Blue's great resource on establishing healthy boundaries in families. Rules who needs them, right? Well, turns out we all do. Clear, unambiguous rules and consequences mean children and young people know what’s expected of them, and adults can be consistent in the way they treat younger family members. 09.01.2022 Have a think about what is in your life making you feel drained or simply isn't working for you now. What would you really like to do about it if you could? Write down these hopes and wishes and put them somewhere safe. Keep these wishes in your focus as you go about your life and try to keep aware of how other people are tackling the same issues you are. Does what they are doing work for you or not? Can you find inspiration in reading or watching media to solve this thing... for you? At the end of each month check in with your list and see if any changes have been made. If you are feeling frustrated or stuck, talking to a counsellor to unpack the issue, release your feelings about it and brainstorming your options could be very helpful. 08.01.2022 Setting boundaries which are meaningful to you does not happen as an everyday occurrence, and some thought and planning into your actions for setting your boundary and afterwards is necessary for a win/win outcome. If you need help with this mental planning seeing a therapist can be beneficial.

08.01.2022 Seeing as we can't right now, let your guilt go for a trip instead, and say goodbye to the guilt of getting your needs met.

07.01.2022 "We can only love others as much as we love ourselves" -Brene Brown

06.01.2022 The old saying goes "you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family". Boundaries can be put in place with family members as well as with others. One of our societal taboos seems to be that we have to accept our families even if they are harmful to us. This myth needs debunking, and drawing a line against unacceptable behaviour from anyone is a healthy step to take for yourself.

06.01.2022 For people living with bipolar disorder and the people who support them.... we acknowledge the effort it must take to live with mood swings that are outside of your control. For more information on Bipolar Disorder: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/bipolar-disorder

03.01.2022 Ways To Avoid Making Fear-Based Decisions 1. Let go of past instances where your plans didn’t work out. Often, we can hold ourselves back from going after what we want because of doubts and negative thoughts about our experiences. 2. Get clear on what you really want by writing down your goals. 3. Review your attitudes and behaviours and ask yourself if they serve you and your goals.... 4. Research or seek advice from a therapist. 5. Stay away from naysayers, they have the potential to affect your progress negatively. See more
