25.01.2022 Anzac Day Driveway Dawn Service. Social isolation wont stop us remembering those who fought for our freedom. Lest We Forget.
24.01.2022 Message from @mark_mcgowan_mp : I know the situation around our public schools has been causing angst for parents, teachers, staff and students. I understand that it may be confusing, but weve kept them open, consistent with the best medical advice at hand through the National Cabinet process. Today, as the pandemic situation moves forward, we move to the next step. ... Firstly, from Monday, March 30, we will now encourage parents to keep children at home if they can, and access the online learning resources we have made available. However, all children who do attend public schools will continue to be taught. Where parents need children to attend school to enable them to maintain employment, and for those children in vulnerable families, like children living with grandparents, they are encouraged to continue to attend school. Public schools will remain open from Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 3. In addition, formal classes will now finish at the end of Friday, April 3, one week earlier than planned. Teachers and education assistants will now use this time to plan and prepare for a new way of teaching from the start of Term 2, with work continuing through the school holidays. However, arrangements will be in place in schools to supervise children who need to attend school on the last four days prior to Easter, where parents require it to maintain their employment, or due to a personal situation. It is crucial for us to strike the right balance between keeping the community safe, allowing essential services to continue and provide a quality education to our students in this difficult time. I want to reassure parents that our schools are well prepared to continue to provide education for their children. Thank you to the parents and carers of Western Australian children for their understanding and support for school staff as we navigate our way together through this unprecedented situation. And thank you to our teachers, education assistants and all school staff for the essential work they do across our State. This is an incredibly difficult situation, thank you for your patience, and we will let you know about plans for Term 2 as soon as possible. See more

21.01.2022 Two today! We turned two today! I know a lot of you can agree when we say, thats not how we imagined you would be spending your second birthday! You are absolutely right! But with the global pandemic still weeks, if not months away from being over, Breathing Space with Gecko are doing all they can to #FlattenTheCurve and #StopTheSpread . ... Heres a few things the team have been up to during these strange and unprecedented times: Krista donated four of her latest ducking brood to @homesteadforyouth to be a part of their therapy animal programme. They were all males, so needed a lot more space than Krista could provide. We just know they will be happy there and have the most amazing life. She has also been taking her fur babies out every few days for a good run to stretch their legs. Brooke has her hands full with her twins and other children but is loving indoor plants at the moment and has found her green thumb. She has also dyed her hair pink! Cassidy has been spending a lot of time at home with her family, and doing her part to stop the spread. Thank you to all our families, friends and followers for the love and support you have all given us over the last two years. We wouldnt be here without you and we cannot wait to see you all again when this is over! Stay safe and healthy!

17.01.2022 Since most of us are at home practising social isolation anyway, dont forget to #SwitchOff all your lights and electronics for @earthhour_australia & @earthhourofficial . Earth Hour has always been for everyone. Every year, the hour of no power turns individuals, schools, businesses and communities into a million-strong movement of people raising their voice for nature through the symbolic action of switching off our lights. In light of the coronavirus crisis, WWF-Austr...alia is committed to doing everything they can to flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19. But social distancing doesnt mean losing social connection. So they have decided to celebrate Earth Hour a little differently this year and take it unplugged and online. So if youre staying in on Saturday 28 March, join them for #EarthHourLIve at 8.30pm AEDT for a great line-up of music, comedy and special guests so you can #SwitchOff and celebrate the most important Earth Hour from the comfort of your own home. 14.01.2022 We need YOU You may have seen local businesses asking for your help lately and this is largely down to how Facebook is stopping you from seeing our content, unless we pay, which is very hard for small businesses to constantly do. It will take less than 20 seconds and will be a BIG help to us! Tag your local business and we will share the love! When you have done this for us can you comment 'done' so we know who to thank

06.01.2022 September 10 is R U OK? Day. The aim of R U OK? Day is to engage Australians to connect with people in the community they may have concerns about, encouraging them to seek further help and to follow up to ensure support is being provided. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. ... You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Breathing Space with Gecko are always here to talk to you if you are not feeling OK, we have personal and professional experience with mental health issues and have completed our suicide awareness training. If you or someone you know needs help, please do not be afraid to reach out. Here are some fantastic resources from the R U OK? 05.01.2022 CHILD CARE REBATE UPDATE Those of you that have been with us from the beginning know I have been fighting tooth and nail to get our beautiful little business Child Care Rebate / Subsidy Approved so we can offer further assistance to the community we love so much. Well... positive news! We have been working with Wanslea (the governments designated CCR/ CCS authority) and Krista is currently upskilling herself in line with new guidelines and regulations. ... Her upskilling should be finished around October/ November and we envisage to have the CCR/ CCS in place before 2020 is finished. COVID-19 has obviously put up some barriers and unexpected delays, but as far as we can see, we are still on track for approval by end of year. If not by the end of 2020, it should definitely be in the first few months of 2021. Thank you all for sticking with us while we have been fighting for this government assistance. We are doing it so we can help YOU and so many other families, especially given the pandemic financial situation many of us are finding ourselves in. As you can see in the video, Kristas dogs are loving having her at home more!! See more
05.01.2022 National NAIDOC Week 2020 Always Was, Always Will Be. , . , .... We are spiritually and culturally connected to this country. This country was criss-crossed by generations of brilliant Nations. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. Australia has the world’s oldest oral stories. The First Peoples engraved the world’s first maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies. We built and engineered structures - structures on Earth - predating well-known sites such as the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge. Our adaptation and intimate knowledge of Country enabled us to endure climate change, catastrophic droughts and rising sea levels. Always Was, Always Will Be. acknowledges that hundreds of Nations and our cultures covered this continent. All were managing the land - the biggest estate on earth - to sustainably provide for their future. Through ingenious land management systems like fire stick farming we transformed the harshest habitable continent into a land of bounty. NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact whether in 1770 or 1606 - with the arrival of the Dutch on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula. The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples. Our coastal Nations watched and interacted with at least 36 contacts made by Europeans prior to 1770. Many of them resulting in the charting of the northern, western and southern coastlines of our lands and our waters. For us, this nation’s story began at the dawn of time. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded. , . For more information, resources and a calendar of events check out the NAIDOC Week website: www.naidoc.org.au See more
