21.01.2022 Christmas Damper Yes, I’m all about healthy living. I’m teaching Yoga, Pilates & Barre, love swimming, running and playing tennis (although I haven’t played since I moved to Australia!!!) and I’m qualified in nutrition. I really enjoy pursuing a healthy lifestyle and it comes very natural to me. BUT... I’m not vegan, I love full-cream dairy products and never buy low-fat foods, I go for sugar rather than sweetener and I absolutely love butter and of course lots and lots... of olive oil. I believe that balance is the key to a maintainable healthy lifestyle. So many of us still think that fat is bad for us (apart from coconut oil, which is actually shockingly high in bad cholesterol!!!) and a few chia seeds added to your muesli will keep you healthy and in shape... We buy overpriced ‘healthy’ foods and expect them to nourish us and create the perfect healthy body for us. We get stressed by the thought of eating unhealthy and cut out foods we love. At the end of the day, a spoon of spirulina or coconut sugar instead of refined sugar is not going to safe your life and you might as well just enjoy your treats in moderation and in combination with regular exercise. I’m not telling you to overindulge and toss all your healthy habits but to listen to your body and nourish and treat yourself the way you deserve it! Oh well, and back to my Christmas Damper - yes, I love butter and flour and milk and I’m happy to be able to enjoy treats like that without guilt nor shame. Bon Appetit and Mahlzeit! . . . #christmastime #homemadefood #australiancuisine #healthyliving #nourishbodyandsoul See more

15.01.2022 ~ The Water Element ~ I feel very connected to the element of water. All about it makes me feel alive. I love swimming, being on the paddle board or kayak, on a boat, walking on the beach or enjoying a river/lake view. All of it rejuvenates me and makes me happy. The water element is strong yet soft, in constant motion and change. It represents creativity, fluidity and fertility. A beginning of something new, something different. Resonating with something very strongly is gr...eat. I appreciate and honor my passions. However, in order to be in balance, we must not forget to connect with other components (elements). Oftentimes we tend to focus on one particular thing so much that we become ‘one-sided’ yet stuck. (What if I’m not around water, what if that constant movement gets too much,...). Hence, it is so important to focus on your whole wellbeing. To create balance in body and mind. To practice and do things that may challenge you. To connect to your whole body, your mind and all things around you. Meditation is a beautiful way to connect with yourself on a very intimate level. It’s been said, that the time around full moon supports inner healing work. Together with @pinkpomelo.com.au & @nienkesound we will guide you through a full moon meditation working on the elements. It’ll be a magical journey for your soul and mind as we create a safe space for you to experience meditation and healing sound bath. Link in bio

06.01.2022 YOGA for KIDS with our super-creative Julia! A few years back Julia took us on a Yoga journey from Gastein (Austria) to Australia. Now, I call this continent my new home... far away from my Austrian family & friends but surrounded by my beautiful Australians! It's all in German but definitely worth a little peak - too cute

05.01.2022 Yoga off the Mat When it comes to Yoga, people often only talk about the poses and maybe meditation. Now, after giving birth, I often get asked whether I am back ‘on the mat’ again. My response is, Yes I do continue to practise Yoga. Gentle stretches, some strengthening exercises (sometimes in form of a HIIT training), singing to my baby and focussing even more on the environment. Yoga means union - being ONE with yourself, being ONE with the world. Practising Yoga is not jus...t to move your body in a certain way or by attending spiritual singing circles. Yoga is a way of conscious and sustainable living on and off the mat. Even though my husband doesn’t practise Yoga poses, he is probably one of the most authentic Yogis and a true inspiration for me. He lives a life with integrity, caring for himself and for others. And together with him we are trying to live our life consciously and looking after the environment. Even if it’s only a small impact we can make. I am aware that it can be very challenging to act ‘eco-friendly’ but perhaps you can integrate a few of the things we do. Please share your tips too - thank you! We try to regularly: -use public transportation -recycle (soft plastic, 10c bottles,) -run a compost (if you happen to live in an apartment, get a kitchen caddy and use community composts) -use reusable sanitary products (such as moon cup, breastpads,) -use reusable nappies (yes, it can be a bit irritating in the beginning but you get used to it) -reduce the amount of paper (be conscious with the use of tissues, napkins and toilet paper - how much/many do you really need and use) -notice how much water you use (open the tap only half way and shorter showers) -be conscious with using AC and lights (we never turn our AC on - I grew up without it and it can get stinking hot in Austria in summer too) -use eco-friendly soaps/detergents (think of what goes in the ocean) -buy products in bigger containers/bags or no bags to reduce packaging -use refillable water bottles and reuse take-away containers The list goes on and I am sure you have plenty to add. So please comment below to continue our sustainable living See more
