25.01.2022 For the official start of summer (and aren't we feeling it?), here are the specials offered for the enjoyment of diners this week: Wine-by-the-glass special Domaine des Blaïs, Côtes de Provence Rosé, 2019. Salad of roasted pumpkin and red onion, green lentils, red capsicum, toasted pine nuts and goat’s cheese on mixed leaves. (GF)(V) ... Buckwheat galette with gruyère, John Dory, creamy prawn bisque sauce and braised fennel. Crêpe filled with frangipane almond cream, topped with fresh yellow nectarines, vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with crushed nougatine. We will hopefully see you soon for some of these treats. The Soup of the day this week will be: Carrot and Ginger Soup, topped with lime yoghurt and sold with a fresh bread roll and butter.... And for a take-home meal (sold cold for you to reheat at home): Cider braised pork belly with creamy potato mash, sauteed apples and mustard cabbage. That's a couple of comfort-food items that we are all yearning at the moment, particularly with the weather turning cold and wet this week.

We will melt the cheese in the cafe and scrape it onto the boiled potatoes, once it is all golden and tasty. Then add cornichons and pickled onions. All you will need to do is to warm it up in your oven to enjoy it hot, melty and delicious at home. You can keep it vegetarian, or there is the option to include a selection of charcuterie for the meat lovers!... So, as per tradition, here are the special items we can offer, both to enjoy on-site, or to take home, as many of you have done over the past weeks: Prawn bisque with diced leek and zucchini, served with bread and butter. Blanquette de veau classic French veal stew enriched with mushrooms and cream, served with rice, braised carrots and celery.... Tarte fine aux pommes - baked French apple tart with salted caramel sauce, with added option of pouring cream or ice cream. If you wish to book a table, please get in early and phone the café on 6156 0346, as we still have very limited places to offer. It's cheese melted at your table and "scraped" onto hot boiled potatoes, served with either a selection of charcuterie or vegetables, plus pickles (minimum of 2 people). The picture shows an example of the selection of meats or vegetables to accompany the meal. WARNING though, you will need to book at least 24 hours in advance as we have limited tables available to offer due to Covid-19 restrictions.

10.01.2022 Good news for our dine-in patrons - you can now, once again, BOOK ONLINE via our website. For tables of more than 4 people however, you will still need to phone the cafe on 6156-0346. Any dine-in tables will be limited to one hour so as to give more opportunities for bookings. On the downside, we have removed the option to order online via our website, because with the business slowly returning to normal , this is now a less popular choice. You are still free to phone ahead for us to prepare a take-away meal for you, and pay over the phone if you so wish.

See the menu here, but we also have our great coffee, large range of breads, pastries and cakes too - the selection changes daily. 01.01.2022 To answer your query, unfortunately we will not be doing any dine-in service until the restrictions ease further. We will, of course, keep you posted when this changes. Until then, it's the usual takeaway service and menu. Thanks for your patience and understanding everyone!
