25.01.2022 I have been asked to give a talk about my books, looking forward to it.

24.01.2022 How funny, my main character has made a visit to Koala Rompin in Malaysia. I have never been to this place, I just chose it at random and researched the place via google. Next day I got an email offering me a hotel booking in, guess where, Koala Rompin.

24.01.2022 I had an email from a man taking my latest book to Morocco, he will read it on holiday. I'll be interested to know what you think of it, Stephen. Have a great trip.

23.01.2022 I'm just wondering how many times I have said I have written my last book. I said that after I had written, "It happened on a cruise," and I really did mean it, or I thought I did. What happened next? I was inspired to write a story, based on the funny exploits of an older friend of ours. He was certainly a character and could tell a funny tale. My story is not his true life story, I can't stress that point enough. The character, George Benson, in my story, and also my friend..., both came from Ilkley, in Yorkshire, and they both left the moorland to live in Australia. In 1965, George, his young, second wife, and six children leave Ilkley where he is a Game keeper on Lord Millerton's estate, to live on a sheep station in northern New South Wales. His seven year old son, Bertie, knows more about sheep than his Dad, and its a shock when the shearers arrive requiring beds and plenty of food. Mistaking his eighteen year old wife for his eldest daughter causes a few funny moments. It's a murder mystery, with quite a lot of humour. See more

23.01.2022 Got my fourteen month old computer repaired after it crashed, taken about seven weeks to get it fixed up again. Time to get on with my writing and with this cold wet weather its not a bad idea sitting in a warm place.

23.01.2022 With more "me" time, we can catch up on the books we wanted to read. Afternoons sitting in the autumn sunshine with a good, interesting book, can't beat it. Stay safe.

22.01.2022 Busily writing. If you have ever been on a cruise, or ever thought you may like to go on a cruise, then my next book is for you. "It happened on a Cruise" is a story about five different lots of people living in Adelaide, South Australia, who for some personal reason are in need of a holiday and decide to go on a ship from Sydney to Tahiti. For most of the travellers it is a wonderful holiday, some even finding romance. But for one man, what happens on the cruise turns out to be a nightmare which lasts for months after he returns home. This is a story of murder and mystery and after three years of writing is almost ready for publication.

21.01.2022 This time of year is always busy, thanks to all the people who have bought my books. Sales are always good in hot weather, people enjoy reading instead of other activities, or could it be that students have been on holidays and mum has had more free time.

21.01.2022 One month to the magical day of December 25. I hope you are organized better than I am, for some reason I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet. Maybe I have been too busy writing or entertaining overseas visitors. At our place it's all holiday talk with one daughter going to Bali and the other making plans to visit Portofino next year. Talking of holidays, thanks to all the folk who have bought my book, "Blame it on the Holiday." If people enjoy books based on holidays, I hope "It happened on a Cruise," will be as popular when it is published. Enjoy the build up to Christmas and when you are out and about shopping and listening to Christmas music, give a thought to the meaning behind it. God Bless.

20.01.2022 Many thanks to all the people who have bought my new book, "It happened on a Cruise." There has certainly been a lot of interest and orders, it must be the title, more than ever people are choosing to travel by ship. Thanks again.

20.01.2022 Another rainy day, cup of coffee beside me and I'm ready to write a few more chapters of my new story. It is always interesting getting mail from new readers as well as my loyal friends. This week I received a message from Jerry telling me how he has enjoyed reading, Blame it on the Holiday, he has passed it on to his mum who lives in Tasmania. Our youngest daughter is home from a rather disastrous holiday involving many hospital trips. All is well and we can now relax.

18.01.2022 Thanks for all the messages with regards to my latest book, and many thanks to Patricia for ordering books for the book club she belongs to. I hope you and your members enjoy the story.

17.01.2022 The tree is decorated, the food is almost ready, and tonight my family are coming for a Christmas get together. There will be lots of chattering and lots of fun. It's been a busy year and after serving dinner tonight I can relax for a while. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the people who read my books, a peaceful Christmas and good health in the New Year.

17.01.2022 I had a book launch of my new book "It happened on a Cruise" It was a great day with many people braving the hot and humid day to help me celebrate. It is now available, click on to my web page.

17.01.2022 My new story is near completion and I am enjoying writing it. Now that Spring is with us I am out and about in the garden but still find time to write late afternoon. We have friends from the U.K. arriving this month, hopefully this beautiful sunny weather continues for their visit. I have had a few requests from libraries for my last book, I like to support the libraries and hope you will too. A close friend, retired English teacher, told me that people are returning to reading books rather than e-readers. I have been hearing this a few times of late. I borrow a library book every week. Enjoy the sunshine.

17.01.2022 Thanks to Lee, the computer is all ready to go again.

13.01.2022 Many thanks to all the people who have sent comments on my new book, "It happened on a Cruise," its always a pleasure receiving your feed back.

13.01.2022 Yes, I'm writing again, people keep asking me if I have another book in the making, the answer is Yes. Not sure when it will be ready for publication. Once our hot weather arrives, I mean over 37 I will be busily writing in my air conditioned room.

12.01.2022 Tinsel, baubles, pine trees, mince pies, roast turkey and carols all things reminding us we are on the count down to that magical day. However you are spending your Christmas day, if it's rugged up by a warm fire, sitting on the beach with a pic-nic hamper or eating a traditional lunch in air conditioned comfort; I would like to wish all of you a very happy and merry Christmas, and as Tiny Tim said, "God bless us every one."

12.01.2022 Such a surprise receiving an order from Washington for one of each of my seven books, exciting.

11.01.2022 Chapter 25 just the weather for writing, warm and cozy with a hot mug of coffee. Looks as if this story is a long one, no idea yet how it will end yet but out is exciting.

11.01.2022 Started writing again after a long rest.

11.01.2022 To all the people who read my books, I would like to wish all of you a very happy and peaceful Easter. I have just arrived home from a lazy couple of days in Tanunda. I hardly recognised the countryside, it is so brown and dry, 33 degrees in Autumn. We had very comfortable accommodation at Apartments on Fiedler, I can highly recommend it if you are ever heading that way. The owner, Dale John, will make you very welcome. The complimentary Rolf Binder shiraz and chocolates, delicious. Walking down the main street, I was pleased to see a couple of my books in the well stocked library.

09.01.2022 I will be at the Warradale Hotel on Saturday June 29 from 7pm with my books. I am supporting Leanne Jones with her fund raising for breast cancer. It will be a fun night helping a very worthy cause.

09.01.2022 Thank you to all the people who have bought my books this year, I would like to wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year.

09.01.2022 To all the people who keep asking me if my latest book is finished I can now say, YES. It is with the publisher. I have enjoyed writing this story very much as some of the characters I actually met when I was cruising. It's a story of fun and laughter on board ship but also murder, mystery and intrigue. The book is larger than the others and of a different style. My daughter calls it a floppy book, the pages open easily and are not stiff. I will inform you when "It happened on a Cruise," is available. As always I hope to have a launch and as before the profits from the sale of my books at the launch will go to Cancer Research. Many thanks to all the people who are interested enough to support me.

09.01.2022 Where is Brenda? haven't seen her around. I'm busily writing a new novel. "The Moorland Lad," came into my mind as a title, and fourteen chapters followed. The main character is a chauvinistic man called George, he loves his job as a gamekeeper, enjoys galloping over the moors around Ilkley in Yorkshire and the delicious meals he gets at the local pub where he spends most evenings. After the passing of his young wife, George quickly meets and marries, Rosanna, a seventeen yea...r old Italian girl who he expects to keep house and look after his five children, aged from seven to fifteen. Ten months after their wedding Rosanna gives birth to a baby boy and two months later finds herself pregnant again. Life is tough, with very little money, Rosanna struggles to keep the family clothed and fed. She soon realises the mistake she has made. Quite unexpectedly, George receives a letter from a solicitor informing him his mother's aunt, who he has never heard of, has died leaving to him a large sheep station in outback Australia. Without any discussion, and taking no advice, George hands in his notice at the big house where he has always worked and decides to move his family, informing Rosanna she will at least have a larger house to live in. 08.01.2022 Busily writing new book, a cameo appearance in this one, Stephen. The taxi driver is visiting South Australia. One of the main characters is Franko.

08.01.2022 I had an exciting message last week from a woman who had read my book, Seashells my Lovely. She wrote that her ex husband had been in the boy service stationed in Devon many years ago. She told me she was born in Devon and had met him when she and her friends went dancing. The story had brought back many memories. She also told me that her ex wasn't quite as naughty as Porter.

07.01.2022 Sorry for the delay in writing, I have been on holiday for three months, yes that's right three. At our age we need a few perks. It was a great holiday and the cruise part enabled me to hear a few more funny stories from unsuspecting characters who will appear in my book, "It happened on a cruise." I never use correct names. One day as I was walking around the deck on the ship I actually saw someone reading one of my books, it was very exciting. I met some lovely people on th...e coach tour of Italy especially Mary-Ellen, Susan, Joyce and Melba all from the United States, what fun we had. Apart from having my mobile phone stolen in Rome, and catching the worst cough since childhood when I had whooping cough, it was a good holiday. One of the highlights was seeing friends and family in England. The cottage in Yorkshire was perfect, set amongst the rolling, green hills around Haworth, where Charlotte and Emily Bronte wrote their classic novels. Living in such a remote spot, their imagination to write such stories, truly amazes me. See more
