24.01.2022 Our faithful friends painted by me in our farm studio.

23.01.2022 Bretims Farm Campsite has decided to temporarily close our campsite until the end of May. The hosts and 2 other members of the family are in the high risk of d...eath category for Corona Virus due to existing long term health conditions and on Doctors orders to self isolate. We will review the situation at the end of May. Disappointing but necessary for everyone's well being. Thank you for your understanding. Brenda and Tim. See more

22.01.2022 Finished our camp cubby house. Just a little construction site clean up to do. Looking good if we says so ourselves. Guest camper’s kiddies gave it a good workout.

19.01.2022 Yay finally got some rain, first decent drop since June last year. Dams got some water, sheep got a wash, trees perked up, green tinge in the paddocks. Even t...he creek ran for a couple of days, water holes are holding, hasn’t happened for 3 years. Camp site looking green and nice. Drought not over by a long shot but hoping like hell this is the beginning. See more

14.01.2022 Sunset on the farm. Doesn’t get much better than this.

13.01.2022 Moved the moos to another paddock to let the pasture regenerate ( still no rain). Still see where they’ve been though!

12.01.2022 Warwick Rodeo and markets coming up in October, we still have available campsites and even have a spare paddock for horses. Bit dry due to drought but have water. I will be at the market with my paintings as usual, working on this one now.

11.01.2022 My favourite of my masterpieces.

11.01.2022 Our ladies in waiting, lambs soon, proud Daddy Ram there too.

11.01.2022 Our farm (Bretims Dorper Sheep Farm and Bush Creek Camp) has finally got some rain. Haven't seen it this lush and green for over 3 years. Creek almost burst its banks and should be running and holding water for a while, hopefully until after the Easter hols. Camp site looks great, planning camp oven cookout for our campers during Easter. There are rumours that the yellow bellies are in the creek again, bird life and wallabies are back.

10.01.2022 Camp site tidied up and ready to go, couple of bookings since we reopened this week. Improving the kiddies play area ready for school holidays and planning some camp oven cookouts for campers. Still a fair bit of grass but dried off now, drought not over yet. A few water holes in the creek. Pregnant ewes ready to drop lambs any day now. Live is good in the country.

09.01.2022 With Easter approaching and now that we have had some rain, we are planning a couple of activities for our camping guests during the long weekend. Apart from o...ur usual invitation to be involved with any sheep work, maybe a camp oven cook out, camp fire happy hours, and another surprise still in the planning. Camp site is a large area and spaces are still available but booking ahead is always a good idea. We are located a little north of Leyburn on the Southern Darling Downs. We are listed You Camp and Wikicamps but can be contacted directly too. See more

09.01.2022 Great to have campers again, working on an extension of the play area and putting planter boxes around the camp space (mostly just feeding the Wallabies and Possums though!). Cool nights here this time of year but a good campfire helps, usually nice sunny days. Plenty of room to spread out. Come and visit

09.01.2022 Quiet cattle roam the camping paddock

06.01.2022 The hat room in our 1880 farm house on Bretims Farm near Leyburn in the Southern Darling Downs Qld.

03.01.2022 Wow, just used the slasher for grass cutting for the first time in two years. Usually gets used to take the rubbish to the skip ( no council services, no rubbi...sh, no water, no street lighting etc here even though we pay rates but the lack of close neighbours and the beautiful pasture/bush/nature makes it an acceptable price to pay). The four legged woolly grass slashes are loving getting lost in the tall grass. Fantastic to see. Life always turns around, the drought is nasty ( still a way to go yet before it’s broken) but we hung to the belief that it had to rain sometime and our turn must be getting closer every day. 02.01.2022 Another lovely sunset on our farm taken over our farm campsite near Leyburn. I am going to paint this one too to put in my gallery at the farm house. Will be part of my artwork showcased in my pop up gallery/shop at the Warwick Rodeo markets in October. Hard at work getting portfolio together for it, in between drenching sheep and fencing of course!! Ahhh life in the country is hard to beat.
