08.01.2022 A big thank you to the Moreton Bay Regional Council who recently presented me with an RADF grant. This grant allowed me the opportunity to work locally with some actors, to trial new actor training processes that expand on my current material in character embodiment. The processes explored were based on the work of Ariane Mnouchkine, Rudolf Laban and Etienne Decroux. The actors engaged in a series of 'outside in' processes that encouraged the creation and authentic embodimen...t of two dissimilar characters. This opportunity was very valuable to my practice. I was able to witness the benefit of actors working in this way through the great discoveries and developments they made in such a short space of time. I was also able to get instant feedback from the actors about their experience during the processes. I really felt that this opportunity gave everyone involved a much-needed lift, inspiring creativity, confidence, and a desire to connect with other artists, even in the face of COVID-19 restrictions at that time. This work will be incorporated into my upcoming workshop in character embodiment that will be held in Samford in November 2020. *The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. 04.01.2022 It's a late start to the year but upcoming workshops are now locked in and raring to go! With all that's been happening of late, these upcoming 2020 workshops are only available in QLD. But mask, movement and character workshops will hopefully be touring again next year, starting with Sydney in February 2021. Thinking of you all in Victoria and I'm looking forward to visiting next year.
