24.01.2022 On the 5th August we celebrated our 16th Birthday, yep, we are now in our 17th year as Bakery owners...we can hardly believe it ourselves. We have lots of changes planned for our 17th year...our first was MILK. - We changed over to LBD, Little Big Dairy. AND we LOVE it. -... Their whipping cream, and dollop cream is literally to DIE for. - So any product in our store with milk or cream, features LBD. - Next week, we will also have little tubs of dollop cream available for FREE, to take with you, to serve with any cake from the cabinet. 24.01.2022 Well, roughly 22wks ago, since Covid-19 shook us all up and said, life’s going too easy for you all, ima gunna throw yous a big curve ball. The bakery got turned upside down, literally. - We were serving from a counter at the front door until just recently, we’ve had to down scale everything from, staff, trading hours, menu and went full takeaway (as per govt regulations) ... - But, all is not lost. Some things don’t change no matter what COVID-19 has to say. - Our bakers still bake, our coffee is still the best, our cakes are still de-lish, and besides having to have pesky screens up & hand sanitiser from head to toe, we are running as normal. - I know there’s not many shops left in the Main Street, but there are shops, and less shops means one or two more tables outside for us. - So pop down the street and see if you can buy locally before heading out that highway. 21.01.2022 Christmas Eve is one of the busiest days at Brenno’s. The bakers have started baking well before midnight on the 23rd to ensure all orders are filled, and we have enough for everyone who has forgotten to order bread, rolls, cobs & of course, jam rolls for their trifle. It’s also the last day we bake bread this year until Jan 3rd. The bakery will still be open for coffee, sandwiches & basic cakes, but we will be down to one baker over the holidays. ... 06.01.2022 Friday 4th September was Jersey Day at the bakery, and all staff wore a jersey. We have done this for a few years now in honour of Nathan Gremmo who tragically lost in an accident in 2015. His family chose to give the gift of life to others through organ donation. Jersey Day isn’t about raising money, it’s about starting a conversation about organ donation. Starting conversations with friends, family, customers, whoever comments of why you are wearing a jersey to work/schoo...l/lunch. - Last year, Brenno & I purchased an official Jersey Day Jersey (the one Kayla is wearing in the photo (slide to the right) and had a little in store competition between all the staff to win. Kayla won. 04.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who played by the rules today without complaint, as we try to adjust to this new way of service at Brenno’s. Thanks to a customer suggesting we move our counter to save me getting tumbled by customers wanting bread. To abide by the 1.5mtr rule we moved a temporary counter while we sold the last few loaves & other stock...... Tuesday, we will have the till, drink scanner and eftpos on the counter at the door for a quicker & smoother transaction system. We understand this is a frustrating time, that seems to be changing quickly, but if we all try and understand that we are trying to make it as easy as possible for everyone. We are following advice from our Association, will try to stay open as long as we can, making a decision each day based on many factors. Once again, we thank everyone for your patience, especially those who I chatted with today
