25.01.2022 No surprise that this weeks travel photo is from our trip to Townsville a couple of weeks back. We enjoyed some classic North Queensland winter weather. It is a great time of year to be up there. This one is at the Strand.

25.01.2022 Posting a travel photo every week is a little tricky when we are not travelling!!! We did manage to get away to Townsville a couple of weeks back and I did get some shots. I tried a new location for sunset. This was taken over the Marina from just near the Magnetic Island Ferry Terminal in Townsville. Not a bad vantage point.

25.01.2022 This weeks travel photo is again from Townsville as that is where we are for a very quick visit. I hope to get out and about and get some new shots while I am here. Until then here is one from the lovely Queens Gardens taken a while ago of a magnificent Rain Tree, oh and of course young Tommy running as he does.

23.01.2022 I usually post a travel photo on Wednesday (although I have been a bit slack lately). It seems funny posting this one as a travel photo but I did travel to Queensland for Christmas. This of course is the Story Bridge getting its Christmas on.

21.01.2022 This weeks travel photo is from one of our many visits to Byron Bay. I always enjoy getting sunrise and sunset shots there. This is a sunset from Wategos Beach. Looking forward to visiting this place again one day.

21.01.2022 I am very excited to be exploring a beautiful part of Australia for the next little while working with the excellent tourism team at Hilltops Council based in Young NSW. I have a very long list of shots that I want to get around here and I look forward to sharing them. Here is one I took yesterday while on a drive just out of Young. One of the many golden Canola fields that you will find in these parts at the moment. Enjoy the week ahead.

21.01.2022 We have just enjoyed a great week in Townsville visiting our Grandson Tommy - oh and Kristie and Jeff too!! We had some great weather and were able to get out and about a bit. My only job was to try and keep up with this rascal. This shot was taken on a very nice day at the Strand. More photos from Townsville to come.

21.01.2022 Another travel photo from our short break in Brisbane #holidayathome This was taken during an early morning swim at the The Fantauzzo pool overlooking the Brisbane River underneath the Story Bridge. I was careful not to capture us in our swimmers - you're welcome.

20.01.2022 A travel photo this week that takes us back to our visit to Bangkok. I call this image One Night in Bangkok and now can't get the song from the 80's out of my head. Enjoy the rest of the week.

20.01.2022 We had a nice walk to Cronan Creek Falls in Mt Barney National Park recently (except the part where I dropped the camera). It is a really nice walk and this shot was along the way. Have a great week.

19.01.2022 We haven't been here for a while. This weeks travel photo is one that I took from the Manly Ferry on Sydney Harbour. Looking forward to doing this again one day.

19.01.2022 It was another cracking sunset over Beaudesert on Friday evening. Apart from the wind it has been a pretty good weekend. Have a great week ahead and stay safe.

18.01.2022 We had a great day today cruising around the Scenic Rim for the annual Beaudesert Camera Club car rally. It was nice driving through the Lost World.

18.01.2022 I think I missed a travel photo last week. This week not travelling too far, more reminiscing about what used to be when we could all hit the beach. This is Burleigh pre COVID-19

18.01.2022 A travel photo this week from Townsville. This is where I will be for the next few days. I hope the weather clears so that I can get out and get some new photos. This one is from the top of Castle Hill. I call it Good Morning Townsville. And if you were wondering, I drove up Castle Hill. I would have jogged but had to take all my camera gear.

17.01.2022 So this week I can use this photo as a travel photo - because I just traveled here But now that I live here I don't think I will get away with it anymore. This is what it looks like to drive around the Hilltops Region of New South Wales at the moment. I am so looking forward to exploring more of this very beautiful area and sharing the photos.

16.01.2022 Two photos taken 2 years apart. One was taken when Tommy just loved to run so you had to be quick to get a photo. The other shows Tommy doing his ninja moves which is his preferred pose for photos these days. #townsvilleshines @ Townsville, Queensland

15.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago when there was some rain around, we took a little drive out to the Lost World. It looked quite amazing with the cloud and mist over the mountains. Enjoy the weekend.

13.01.2022 The end of 2020. Bring on 2021. Thanks for the instalove and I look forward to sharing some shots from the Hilltops Region where I will be for the next little while. #happynewyear #topnine #topnine2020 #bringon2021

12.01.2022 Two birds with one stone tonight. My regular travel photo plus a preview of my 2021 Hervey Bay Calendar. I have a limited number of these available and I still have a few Scenic Rim calendars left as well. Here a just a few pics from the bay. If you would like to get a copy just send me a message. Both the Hervey Bay and Scenic Rim calendars are $20 plus $5 postage and handling (if applicable).

12.01.2022 We enjoyed a walk to Cronan Creek Falls in the Mt Barney National Park during the week. I was really enjoying photographing the falls right up to when the camera came off the tripod. It says 60D on the camera strap in the photo but that is my 6D. It seems to be OK, the lens and Lee Big Stopper not so much. At least I got a few shots before it happened.

11.01.2022 While travelling back to Young I had a few minutes to go and have a look at the Parks Radio Telescope - The Dish. It is pretty impressive and I am looking forward to spending a bit more time there and getting a few more shots. Have a great week.

11.01.2022 This weeks travel photo is a shot that I took on a trip up north a little while ago. It was a quick stop in Bowen and a nice view of North Head Lighthouse.

11.01.2022 A travel photo this week from a trip to Singapore a little while back. We really enjoyed our stay there and hope that we will get back one day to explore a bit more. This photo of Caribbean Flamingos was taken on a visit to the very impressive Jurong Bird Park.

10.01.2022 It was very cool seeing two of these guys over Beaudesert during the week. We don't often see them out this way. I was lucky I had my camera ready to go with the right lens on for a change!!! Lets see what this week brings.

09.01.2022 Good to see our Victorian friends can get out and about again. I am looking forward to the day that I can get back to this place again. We enjoy visiting Melbourne and we are well overdue for a visit. For this weeks travel photo, it is Melbourne.

07.01.2022 This weeks travel photo is a flashback to our last trip to the very beautiful Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort which was about this time last year. We are really looking forward to getting back there again.

06.01.2022 I was pleased to get out and explore the area today after having storms rolling through for the last couple of weeks. Today I headed north to the town of Grenfell to see the Silo Artwork. This amazing work was painted by artist Heesco Khosnaran and really is spectacular. If you are in the area, make sure you check it out. Have a great week.

06.01.2022 After a busy weekend I got out last night for some stars. I tried a few different things and ended up with a couple of shots that are OK. This is about 165 images taken over of period of about 90 minutes. Looks like a bit of cloud tonight so I am pleased I got out last night.

05.01.2022 This is the scene I was greeted with as I was leaving Narrabri while driving home for Christmas. A nice start to the day. Merry Christmas #merrychristmas #drivinghomeforchristmas #loveNSW

04.01.2022 I had a very enjoyable walk into the Lower Portals this week with great company finished off with a great lunch at the Rathy Pub. A most enjoyable day. Enjoy the week ahead. @judysandmann

04.01.2022 While I accept that this is probably not what everyone around here wants to see, it sure does look amazing as you drive around the region. This is a weed called Paterson's Curse and it seems to have quite a hold at the moment. Locals say that it was all but gone a few years ago. This one was taken on my way to an amazing little town called Jugiong on the weekend. Lots to explore in the Hilltops Region.

04.01.2022 Another one from the drive back to QLD. This is one of the amazing painted silos. This one is in QLD not far from Goondiwindi at Yelarbon. The artwork was created by a Brisbane artists collective called The Brightsiders. I am sure the locals enjoyed the rain that fell just before Christmas too. #siloart #drivinghomeforchristmas #southerndowns

03.01.2022 Really looking forward to spending the next couple of days at the Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues Fest Hats off to the organizers who have planned a COVID safe event. Really looking forward to seeing the all Queensland line up of artists including some I have not seen before. Standby for photos when I return. I don't think we will be doing much of this but still will be great to see some live music.

03.01.2022 We really enjoyed our visit to Townsville last week. We always try to visit Queens Gardens when we are there. It really is a beautiful place. I always seem to take this shot when I am there too. This time it includes Tommy who chooses to do ninja moves in all photos at the moment. Enjoy the week ahead.

03.01.2022 This is from a little while ago - I think I need to update it. There are a couple of buildings missing here!

02.01.2022 Time for this weeks travel photo and what a surprise - it is from Townsville. We enjoyed a wonderful week in the north last week and took quite a few photos. I was pleased to get this one at the Strand at sunrise. This is a new sculpture installation called Ocean Siren and is part of the Southern Hemisphere's first Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA). The rest of the gallery is at John Brewer Reef and I think that a trip out there to see it will be on the list for our next visit. I have more shots from Townsville to share over the next week or two.

01.01.2022 This weeks travel photo takes us back to Hervey Bay. it is quite a pretty sight on the beach at high tide. I wonder when we will get back there.

01.01.2022 I am still processing photos from my first cherry season in Young in the Hilltops Region. It has all but finished now and I really enjoyed picking (and eating) cherries in the orchards. I still have a few more photos to post. Enjoy the week ahead.
