25.01.2022 Victorians have done an incredible job at tackling this pandemic. From today, Metropolitan Melbourne will be entering the Second Step towards CoVid Normal. No...t only that, but our move to the Third and Last Steps will no longer be defined by set dates, but by meeting the targets outlined by our public health team. These targets are: Step Three: An average of 5 new cases in the past 14 days. Step Four: No new cases for 14 days across Victoria. Here are the changes to restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne: General: Curfew has been lifted. More than one person from one household can shops for necessary goods. Private real estate inspections can resume with one agent and one prospective purchaser/tenant, accompanied by a member of their household/intimate partner, and children under 18 years. These are limited to 15 minutes and you may not travel to regional Victoria to do so. Restrictions will be lifted in certain industries, meaning that 127,000 Victorians can get back to work. Social & Events: Groups of up to five from a maximum of two households can meet in a public outdoor setting. Gatherings of up to 5 people can meet with their faith leader outdoors. Weddings will be permitted with a maximum of 5 attendees including the couple. Funerals are permitted for up to 10 people, plus infants under 12 months and those required to conduct a funeral. Childcare & Education: Childcare is opening for all children. A return to onsite learning for primary, VCE & VCAL, and specialist school students, with Year 7-10 continuing to learn remotely. Health: Non-urgent dental care to resume. Changes to visitation rules in care facilities and hospitals.
