25.01.2022 Sometimes helping people to find and crystallise their values can be what they need to unlock their potential. What do you think?

24.01.2022 I am talking with Janet Schultz about the importance of helping clients to understand their values system. #leadership #culture #leadershipdevelopment #valuesdriven

23.01.2022 Lets make the goals we set for next year SMART. Its coming around to that time of year when people set goals for the forthcoming new year. There is a much greater likelihood of those goals being realised if they are SMART. By that I mean that they are:... Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Resourced. Time bound. So, when you are setting a goal ask yourself if it satisfies these criteria. If not, then hone it until it does.

23.01.2022 Today we announced our $130 billion JobKeeper plan to help businesses keep Australians in jobs. We're providing a lifeline to around 6 million Australian worker...s with a wage subsidy of $1500 a fortnight, paid through their employer. Even if their business goes into hibernation, we're keeping employers and their employees connected, so when the economy comes back - and it will - these businesses will be able to start again and their workforce will be ready to go. The JobKeeper payment is for eligible businesses that have been hit hard by this health and economic crisis. It is available to: Full time and part time employees, including stood down employees Sole traders/self-employed individuals Casual employees where they have been with their employer for at least the previous 12 months Not for profit entities, including charities.

20.01.2022 Gratitude in this New Year I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. May that prosperity go beyond your finances and on to your soul, relationships, family and all areas of your life. Many people set goals at this time of year. A good goal is to be grateful each day.... I have purchased an A5 diary. At the beginning of the day I write down my intention for the day (more about that in a later post). I have set a goal of recording at least 3 things that I am grateful for in that diary at the end of each day. That diary is going to be a great read later this year!

18.01.2022 Wishing everbody a happy and peaceful day as we celebrate Christmas and a happy healthy new year.

17.01.2022 THREE! A client who I have been coaching lost some momentum over the Christmas break as many of us do. I facilitated her to identify just three actions that she should take. People are generally able to cope with three actions to take and will do them. More than that can be too daunting and then none of them may happen. My client did the three actions and excitedly emailed me (she couldnt wait until our next session and I wanted to hear anyway) to say that she had received several positive responses from different potential clients, and she was back on track. So, remember the number THREE. Setting three actions to do may be the start of the breakthrough.

15.01.2022 Education without action is just entertainment. How many people go to course after course and nothing ever changes? It is good practice to write down at least 3 significant points from each course or workshop that you attend and make sure to action them.

14.01.2022 Sometimes peoples' behaviour surprises us, either pleasantly or otherwise. I think it is helpful to consider their beliefs before judging their behaviour. If they belive for example that they are never going to succeed or that no-one in their family has ever had any success then their behaviour is likely to reflect that. Sure there will be the exceptions who will say "I'll show you and will go ahead and succeed", but I wonder whether those people have had someone who believed... in them? On the other hand if we can show people that we believe in them then their belief in themself may improve and their behaviour is likely to reflect that. In other words they may grow towards their belief. So look for opportunities to encourage people about the good things you see in them and watch the change in their behaviour. I would like to hear your views on this.

14.01.2022 Over the next weeks or months many of us will need to work from home. We may be used to doing that one or two days a week, but we may now be facing doing that full time. There will be challenges to face but there will also be some upsides. Here are some tips that might help you to not just survive but to thrive in these circumstances: Get dressed! Whilst it might be tempting to stay in pyjamas for the day, eventually how we look affects how we feel. We want to feel good, so...Continue reading

02.01.2022 SETTING INTENTIONS FOR THE DAY Setting intentions at the beginning of each day is helpful to your thought pattern. The intention needs to be specific. Word the intention as a question. Questions contain presumptions. Heres an example: How can I show more kindness to people today so as to be able to encourage them and be a better person myself? This presumes that you are already showing kindness, encourages you to think about how you can show more and gives reason to do so. This is much more powerful that just setting an intention of be kind.

02.01.2022 A great time with Peter Daniels this morning on One and All for a business owners breakfast.

02.01.2022 WE CAN CONTROL OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS As challenging as it may be at times, we can control our thoughts and actions. The Bible encourages us to do this. Coaches will also encourage us to do this. ... It is believed that by a conscious effort, our voluntary mind can, over time, train our involuntary mind. We can allow our voluntary mind to be constructive or destructive. Over time the repeated thoughts that we choose to have will become our thought pattern. So be careful about them. It is also believed that expressing gratitude every day may improve our thought pattern. Why not keep a gratitude journal and at the end of everyday record three things that you are grateful about in that day?
