24.01.2022 It’s Thursday morning and I’ve got the interview of my year. I’ve been wanting to get this guy, William Nean, commonly known around town as Panther, for a long time now and finally... finally, he’s agreed. Father to the famous Brewarrina goat, owner of 8 adopted dogs and teller of a million local stories, William is one of the genuine legends of Brewarrina. Expelled from school as a young chap after an instinctive reaction to a teacher who hit - and hurt - him, he went to w...ork on the railway as a Billy boy. Whenever ‘smoko’ was called, it was his job to boil the billy. These days he’s busy with his pups and Shelly the goat, who is well known for her wanderings around Bre and her recent adventures in the RSL Club and the bank. Despite many offerings, Panther tells me, Shelly is still a virgin and he’s doing everything he can to keep her that way. Have a lovely day Panther, and thank you for a lovely chat.

11.01.2022 Incredible sunset tonight..

06.01.2022 Putting fingerlings into the Barwon at 6.45 this morning. Thirteen thousand Murray Cod and 18,000 Yellowbelly were released. An initiative of the annual Bre Big Fish catch and release fishing competition which is usually held in Brewarrina in June each year. Any carp caught during the comp are not put back in the river, so it’s a bit of a competition on a mission! It was an early morning, but interesting!
