23.01.2022 Our new 'Get Outdoors' program has been a hit. Evans High School enjoyed making a huge cubby today as well as some kayaking on Dyarrubbin!

23.01.2022 "Learn as much as you can about the culture and participate." - Aunty Deanna. Each year, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who are part of some of the oldest continuing cultures on the planet. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

19.01.2022 Some more beautiful photos from the KPS camp last week. We always love seeing kids toasting marshmallows around the campfire. #camplife

13.01.2022 Our Brewongle kitchen garden is thriving! Pumpkin leaves bigger than a dinner plate, cucumbers and zucchini nearly ready to pick, and a gazillion juicy red tomatoes just waiting to be eaten! We love this time of year in the school garden! Just in time for a big harvest before school holidays. NSW Department of Education Environmental and Zoo Education Centres NSW #LoveWhereYouLearn... #SustainableSchool See more

13.01.2022 Congratulations Kurmond Public School Year 6! We’re glad you had a great day celebrating the end of your primary years!! Big smiles, beautiful kids, lovely teachers...you make our job a pleasure. #LoveWhereYouLearn ... #LoveWhereYouWork #KayakingInTheRain See more

13.01.2022 We've been mulling over how to create a K-12 program on nature journaling. We love how it integrates mental wellness and mindfulness with connection to nature. It also ticks a gazillion syllabus boxes (visual literacy, texts for a purpose, viewpoints, communication, symmetry, science and geography skills, visual arts - the list goes on). We LOVE the way nature journaling enables student-centred (and environment-led!) learning. Let us know what you think! Would you be keen to... bring your students out for a day of #English in a #science and #geography setting? We'd love to know your thoughts! #CatchingStories #NatureJournaling #NaturePlay #Connection #TimeOut #MarketResearch #Sketch #WaterColour #Describe #CloseUp Environmental and Zoo Education Centres NSW

09.01.2022 We’ve always found that sit spots in nature are a crowd pleaser with our students. It’s incredible how sitting alone in nature makes such an impact.

08.01.2022 'It hasn’t been easy, but look what we’ve produced!' Thank you to all our students, teachers, school staff and parents and carers who have made this a year to remember. See you next year for #FirstDay2021! #LoveWhereYouLearn *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

05.01.2022 We’ve not seen these Charopy bins before, but what a cool way to sort students’ recycling for #ReturnAndEarn

04.01.2022 Always learning... This book is the latest addition to the Brewongle library, and WOW! Such incredible insight into the history of the #HawkesburyRiver. Thoroughly recommend getting your hands on a copy and listening to Grace being interviewed for a #Conversations podcast. https://www.abc.net.au//grace-karskens-hawkesbury/12620864 ... #SacredPlaces #Darug #Settlement #Culture #Language

04.01.2022 Youth Eco Summit is virtual this year, making it even more accessible for students. Brewongle is running a workshop for YES again this year. Check out the program to see if anything tickles your fancy! #LoveWhereYouLearn https://www.facebook.com/Dart.Connections.DET/posts/3802862346432743

03.01.2022 Looking for a new story book to share with your students? (silly question, I know!) One of our Brewongle teachers just stumbled across an absolute beauty! Lilah the Lyrebird is the latest book from Jodie McLeod, a local author from the Blue Mountains. Lilah the Lyrebird is a story about resilience, bravery and love, weaving the concept of bushfires and how this remarkable bird rises courageously in the face of danger.... You can order the book on Jodie's website (today is the last day for pre-Christmas orders!). http://www.jodiemcleod.com/ #WeLoveLyrebirds #Literacy #DarugLand #Bushfires NSW Department of Education Environmental and Zoo Education Centres NSW
