25.01.2022 Such a beautiful description of yoga, by Italian born yoga teacher Vanda Scaravelli, who came to yoga in mid life after her friend, composer Yehudi Menuhin, introduced her to B.K.S. Iyengar. Come and dance your way through Flow with me tonight, 7pm at Mitchelton Presbyterian Church Hall. Garden Rhapsody Light Show, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, taken by me, 2019.

25.01.2022 Sending a heartfelt "Thank You" to everyone who's been to a Brew Yoga class this year - face-to-face OR via Zoom! In my fifth year offering classes in Mitchelton I'm so grateful to have been able to continue teaching safely, and practically non-stop, throughout what has been an extraordinary year. Now it's time for a break - Wednesday night Flow class will return in January, keep your open here for details. Thank you also to everyone who follows me here, especially for the ...likes, comments, tags and shares. Your presence and support means a lot to me. If you look carefully at the image below, you'll see not one, but two logos! Thanks to Smorgasbord Creative for my new logo. I'll be transitioning to the name Jo Moloney Yoga gradually over the New Year. Wishing you all a very happy, safe and peaceful festive period, whatever it means for you. Namaste Jo

24.01.2022 As we draw closer to year's end and days become warmer, the lure of the couch at day's end can be strong! Maybe life is starting to feel busier, and other things - or people - are competing for your attention. However, we all need to take time to recharge... just like our devices! You deserve time and space to spend with yourself, on yourself, for the benefit of yourself and those around you, and your yoga mat is the perfect place to restore, especially on Hump Day. I hope you'll join me face-to-face or live via Zoom for Flow tonight, 7pm AEST.

22.01.2022 Lest We Forget Pausing to remember and give thanks to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we experience in Australia today. Deep gratitude also to those who fought bravely or served in other ways at home and overseas, and survived - including those who remained at home raising families and keeping farms and factories going, all in the face of worry, fear, hardship and, for many, unimaginable loss.... Photo taken by me, at the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, August 2017. #lestweforget #lestweforget2020 #remembranceday #withgratitude

21.01.2022 For anyone wishing to kit themselves out for home yoga practice, here's a great pack...

16.01.2022 Wishing you health and happiness, on top of peace, love and, of course, plenty of yoga in 2021.

16.01.2022 Those days when everything flows. Time is fluid, space expansive. I'm there today, going with the flow, without hurry or expectation. This is bliss. Wishing you a relaxing Saturday, wherever you are, whatever you're doing.

15.01.2022 A reminder that Brew Yoga Flow Class is on pause until January, but the good news is, you can still get some pre-Christmas yoga in with me at YogaSol & Sol Therapies I'm teaching Beginners - which is suitable for anyone happy with a slower paced flow, and a wonderful opportunity to focus on your alignment - this Thursday 24 December from 9.30am to 10.30am. So, if like this little guy, you could use an hour to recharge, please join me. Bookings essential, through https://www....yogasol.com.au/ Tree pose anyone? Photo by Heber Galindo on Unsplash

13.01.2022 Now that it's the norm to take your own mat to yoga class, I thought it a good time to talk about different mats and how to choose one for your needs. If you're brand new to yoga, I recommend starting with an inexpensive mat, until you know you want to continue practising. Kmart has a 5mm PVC Yoga Mat for $8.00 (discount stores sell similar), including a carry strap, and it's fine to get you started. Alternatively, you could buy a slightly better quality mat for around the $3...0 mark from a sports store. My mat of choice (pictured) for the past few years is Lululemon's The Reversible Mat 5mm (although I never reverse it ). It's grippy - which can really be helpful for refining your alignment - and heavy so that it rolls out flat, every time. I get several years out of each mat. And no, I'm not paid to endorse Lululemon! It's just a mat that works well for me. If you need extra padding for comfort in certain poses eg for your knees, I recommend using a blanket, towel or cushion on top of a 5mm mat, rather than getting a thicker 'fitness' mat, which can be destabilising, making it harder to balance. There are also more eco friendly mats available... just Google "eco friendly yoga mats". If you've got another question about yoga mats, hit me with it! :D

10.01.2022 Yes, I teach private yoga classes! I've been privileged to teach Jon and Yvonne privately via Zoom - from my loungeroom to their deck - since March. Below is just part of the beautiful testimonial they wrote for me. Read the full testimonial, plus more about private classes for individuals, couples or groups, on my website https://brewyoga.com.au/private-classes/ and please get in touch if you'd like a private class, or share this post if you know someone who might. :)

09.01.2022 Getting to know me! I thought it might be fun to share three things about me you may not know (especially if you're newer to this page), so, here goes... My favourite colour is blue... all the blues, but especially the bright turquoise blue of my earrings in this photo. ... I didn't know what I wanted to 'do' until the age of about 42, when I realised, on my mat one day, that I wanted to teach yoga. Better late than never! I love 80s music, and often crank it up whilst I'm cleaning the bathroom, because it makes everything much more fun. Care to share your favourite colour, music or a random fact about you? I'd love to get to know you better, too.

09.01.2022 I realise I've been a bit quiet here lately. I've been experiencing a period of great transition - "great" in that it feels immense, and also in the sense of it being welcome! Having very recently left my part time job of the past 7 years, I'm charting a new course. There's already more yoga teaching in it - feeling grateful to have some extra regular classes to teach, and some covers. I'm being called back to meditation, and am about to participate in a 4 week meditation cou...rse, which I'm really looking forward to. Other things are unfolding behind the scenes, and I'll share more soon. So grateful for yoga and the tools it's given me for coping with, and embracing transition. After all, transition is a constant in life, only sometimes it's a bigger deal than other times. Photo by Mohamed Nohassi on Unsplash, shared with gratitude

09.01.2022 And... relaaaax! First week off since Christmas/New Year, just a tad overdue. Grateful that we're able to get away. I'll be soaking in all the beachy good vibes this week. ***No Flow Class this Wednesday***

06.01.2022 Public service announcement! I hope you'll join me tomorrow night to breathe, bend and flow.

05.01.2022 Feeling tropical!!! Should I wear this top for yoga tonight? Join me face to face or via Zoom, 7pm for Flow. I can feel a few more triangle poses coming on with a practice for Creating Space.

01.01.2022 I love having coffee with yogis on Monday morning after Beginners class at YogaSol, Ferny Hills. Join us tomorrow - class is 9.30am to10.30am, with coffee to follow, for anyone who'd like to indulge!
