25.01.2022 Model Memoirs Traditional Tales: Breyer Minstrel, 2019 Christmas Horse To coincide with the recent arrival of Breyer’s stunning 2020 Christmas horse Yuletide Greetings, today’s feature model is the 2019 Limited Edition Christmas Horse Minstrel.... This lovely model draws inspiration from the masquerade balls of the past. The ornate costume features a mysterious golden mask with halos of beaded thread, a lush turquoise fur trimmed blanket adorned with musical instruments and golden tassels. The horse himself is a beautiful glossy, shaded silver bay and is done on the Loping Quarter Horse mould sculpted by Sommer Prosser. This model is ageless and truly unique a stunning decoration addition to any Christmas festivities! 21.01.2022 Model Memoirs Traditional Tales: WINX Portrait horse Today’s feature model is Breyer’s absolutely gorgeous portrait model of our very own Winx! Winx is a now retired champion Australian racehorse. She was foaled in 2011 and during her racing career, between May 2015 and her retirement in April 2019, she won 33 consecutive races including 25 group 1s. In 2016 she became the world’s top ranked filly or mare turf horse, a title that she retained in 2017, and then in 2018 she w...as co-ranked the best turf horse in the world. In 2017 she was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame, only the third horse ever to earn this honour while still in training. This portrait model of Winx is just stunning her dark coat has beautifully executed colour layering, giving it a real depth and lifelike quality. The Breyer Traditional mould used for this portrait is the Emerson mould sculpted by Susan Carlton Sifton. It epitomises the lean, muscular and perfectly structured form of the Australian bred Thoroughbred. She stands attentive and interested, intelligence showing clearly in her face. 20.01.2022 Model Memoirs ***WAREHOUSE FIND*** Traditional Tales: Halloween 2019 "Samhain " To coincide with the arrival in the coming days of Breyer’s wonderful Halloween model for 2020 Apparition, today’s feature model and exciting warehouse find, is the 2019 Limited Edition Halloween 2019 model Samhain!!! ... This model takes her name and theme from the Gaelic Halloween traditions which celebrated the end of the harvest season and the beginning on winter on 31st October each year. Some believed that the line between the spirit world and ours is at it’s thinest during this time, allowing spirits to celebrate and mingle with the living. This Samhain model is really special, she depicts scenes of cornfields dotted with carved pumpkins and wonderful little ghosties. Her body colour is a mix of metallic coppers, oranges and golds, the fields are a vibrant green and lower section where the silhouettes appear is a midnight black.. best of all the green areas glow brightly in the dark. Samhain is created on the Wixom mould, an imposing percheron mare in a trotting pose which was sculpted by Donna Chaney and first introduced in 2001. 05.01.2022 Model Memoirs Traditional Tales: 70th Anniversary Traditional American Saddlebred Today’s feature model is Breyer’s absolutely stunning American Saddlebred from the 70th Anniversary Traditional series.... The Saddlebred is a glorious metallic looking shaded palomino with subtle dapples. He is depicted in the beautiful gait that the breed is known for, known as racking’, muscles flexing and mane and tail sailing behind him as he goes. This fellow is created on the Hamilton mould, sculpted by Jennifer Scott, and is the first regular run available on this sculpture which only made it’s debut last year. This mould has got to be one of the most detailed Breyers yet, just check out the butt wrinkles where the skin on the real horse puckers when muscles are stretched out like this guy amazing!
