24.01.2022 Today, 5 December is International Volunteer Day ! We give thanks to the hundred's of volunteers that selflessly give their time to support our work in the community. Our volunteers include serving Vic Pol members, retired members, families of the fallen and community members who give their time on our branch committees, supporting events, awareness raising and so much other work to support our mission.... We have missed seeing many of our volunteers in 2020, we look forward to being together again in 2021.

22.01.2022 May 18-24 is National Volunteer Week, a chance for us all to show appreciation to the millions of Australians who give their time to support our community. We give thanks to the hundreds of people across Victoria who volunteer their time to support our Foundation. Many of our volunteers work full time in various fields including serving Vic Pol members, some are retirees, students and also families of the fallen.... They give their time and expertise to run our 17 branches across Victoria, serving on our committees, raising awareness, supporting our events and so many other activities. The Foundation has funded almost 60 major public hospital and community projects in honour of those that have died in the line of duty. None of these projects would have happened without the amazing contribution of our volunteers and the community who support them. We salute you all. #NVW #givingthanks #volunteers

19.01.2022 Remembering Constables Damian Eyre and Steven Tynan 12 October 1988 Damian was 20 years and Steven 22 years, young men who were just starting their adult lives and careers, when they answered a call of duty and tragically were killed in Walsh St South Yarra. They were doing their job in serving and protecting the community, Damian and Steven should have made it home. Our thoughts are with the Tynan and Eyre families who had their lives changed forever on that dreadf...ul day and continue to feel the loss. Our thoughts are also with their colleagues from Prahran Police Station and all Police members. The shock of their loss is felt by so many. After the tragic events of that day - the community rallied behind Victoria Police and the families from that emerged the Blue Ribbon Foundation which initially was the Tynan and Eyre Foundation. The first hospital project that the Foundation funded was the Tynan and Eyre Diagnostic Centre Alfred Hospital in 1993. Damian and Steven will always live on in the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and the hearts and minds of those that loved them. #weremember #Intheirhonour #32yearsTynanEyre #vicpol

We would encourage you to watch Stringybark the Australian film, it is a truthful and meticulously researched account of the Stringybark Creek encounter, instead of the myths and legend of Ned Kelly that Australians are so used to. At about one hour in length, it follows th...e four policemen as they are chosen for, and prepare for the search party that would end their lives.
