10.01.2022 A NEW BEGINNING FOR BOSCO! At almost 3 years old, Bosco is a male German Shepherd who is looking for his forever family. He is currently hanging out with friend...s at the RSPCA after his owner unfortunately decided that their new shiny home was too flash for Bosco. Like most German Shepherds, Bosco has not been coping well in the shelter environment, and is becoming increasingly anxious. Although he is being taken care of, and given lots of attention, he really needs a home, so he can relax and feel safe. Bosco tends to jump up and seek reassurance when he is overwhelmed; he gets so excited by a human’s presence in the shelter, and forgets all his basic manners and training. We are confident he will calm in a family environment. In the shelter, he has been working on basic commands, and is doing very well when away from distractions. Bosco will need a family who are committed to ongoing training, working on his impulse control and manners. He loves his food, so with positive reward based training, this boy will shine in no time at all. As he can be quite jumpy when excited, Bosco would not be suited to a family with children under the age of 12. Bosco has previously lived with another dog, and has been getting on well with his canine companions at the shelter. He can be a little forward with them however, so will need a confident dog who will not be intimidated by his size. We feel that Bosco would do best in a home with another large breed dog who is calm and confident. Bosco is generally ok meeting smaller dogs, but he does not know his own size, so he is best suited to a home with no small animals. Bosco loves to play fetch and just adores being with his people; he just needs someone to give him a second chance to show us all what an amazing dog he can be! If you’re interested in adopting Bosco please head over to our website and fill in an adoption application form. If you have already completed the form, please send an email to [email protected] to let our adoptions team know of your interest! https://www.gsrv.com.au/adopt-1
