25.01.2022 And PS: I hope it all fits in the backpack.

25.01.2022 My new sleeping bag from One Planet made in Melbourne just arrived, minus 3 and less than 600 grams, 1 kg lighter than my other one, fantastic now can carry more food.

25.01.2022 Day 8, the final few kms, about a 3.5 hr walk and beer.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to Glen (Duzza) Durrant on his great victory in the premier league

23.01.2022 The backpack supplied to me by Warrior Assault Systems for the 1000 mile walk, another UK company was also brilliant and comfy, heavier than most backpacks but then it is military grade, and just as well it was scraped through bushes, dragged over rocks, mud you name it, if it had been a more commercial product I think it may have been damaged, but not a scratch. Well done W.A.S. It will last a 1000 miles.

20.01.2022 Well today I head of to Penguin on the North Should be a fantastic wander through some beautiful gorges, along rivers and up mountains. It is about a 90km walk. Now all I have to avoid is getting bit by snakes, slide into a deep ravine, fall into a cold mountain lake or freeze to death lol. With Covid still rife in Europe I cannot get there to walk so instead of showing the British countryside to Australians I will show the Tasmanian countryside to Europe. It should only take 6 days but am going take my time and maybe 8 days. So see you all soon.

19.01.2022 5 pm, a bit of light snow and fire going well

17.01.2022 And to keep me dry (I hope), a tarp ground sheet and a mesh bug tent for all those little nasties that are out there.

15.01.2022 Well my newly made Norway boots arrived from AltBerg England, super comfy and will take any weather conditions, now I have 2 weeks to wear them in, couldn't believe they took only 4 working days to get here by courier. Longer to make though as I had to measure my own feet and a bit of pot luck lol

15.01.2022 Hi everyone this is my sleeping gear for the wilderness trip in Tasmania for 2 weeks. Sleeping bag, mattress, sleeping bag liner (optional) pillow and emergency bivi bag.

13.01.2022 Also for this little journey some snacks for 2 weeks and there is more already in my pack.

12.01.2022 The next training walk in the planing stage for September 14 days all alone no phones or roads so I had to buy a Personal Locator Beacon, I have to hide it so Linda don't take out the battery.

10.01.2022 Scotts Peak to Junction Creek Map of last walk now to prepare for the next 1, lol.

09.01.2022 Well the new shirt has arrived looks great, it's only a promo at this stage so any new sponsors can be added closer to the final print. Thanks Red Lip designs. And also like to thank the Retreat Hotel and the Waterfront Hotel for their help in sponsoring me here.

06.01.2022 For the end of the day I will change into my evening wear, long johns, top and mum said I must wear slippers, a balaclava and gloves in case. Spare socks and jocks.

06.01.2022 Now the fun begins woke up 05.30 covered in snow and had to push it off the top of the tarp as it was too heavy and I could not sit up lol

05.01.2022 The start of the fund raising raffle collection, x3 World Championship programs 2018 (signed) 2019 and a 2020 (unsigned) thanks to Giovanna Thomas and a set of Darts and case from Winmau. Hope to add to it soon. And a view of the shirt still in the design process.

05.01.2022 The Altberg Boots I had sent from the UK took a hammering and were brilliant, they held up to the most rigorous test available. This is a UK based company supplying both the British and Royal Danish Armies, they also make walking boots and Motor Cycle boots. Expensive but well worth the money, I even measured my own foot and they supplied the perfect fit. Well done Altberg England. Many more miles to walk in them. They have to do 1000 Miles

05.01.2022 Well day 3 of the walk to the Western Arthur Range. Having set up camp at Junction Creek for the night and waiting to see what the weather had for me, well it didn't it had rained constantly for 3 days it was not going to stop and looking at the mountain the cloud cover was even lower. I decided to break camp and head back to the car and another gruelling 4 hours through mud and creeks, no point posting pictures as its the same as day 2 only in reverse lol. Not looking forward to it. So of I go.

04.01.2022 Well its been a while since the last walk, but was waiting on the arrival of some new equipment from the great team at Warrior Assault Systems in the UK. So thank you Andy and the team. I planned a quick overnight walk of 45 km to test the gear out and it was a hard uphill slog but worth the effort, not sure if the body agrees, the backpack supplied by W.A.S was fantastic and fitted good, and with some extra pouches attached for special stuff, the beauty of this system is I can add and change to suit various situations and will show more soon. I have now in the process of a 2 week walk in the South West Wilderness of Tasmania by the end of September i hope so will keep you all informed soon.

04.01.2022 Day 7, rest day, after arriving late the day before and in the rain and had to use rocks to hold the tarp down as ground too hard for pegs but they held. It was nice to wake up to a relatively nice day, the first couple hours a bit of drizzle then cleared up to a sunny day. Decided not to walk so as to dry all gear and clothing. Stripped off, and got sun burn bugger. But gear dry.

03.01.2022 Camp set up at about 4pm 4th August and a nice fire cold but fine, awaiting snow so they say lol

03.01.2022 And to keep all my equipment working apart from taking a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) I have to take extra power packs as there is no power points anywhere. 3 x power banks and 2 solar chargers in case there is some sun. So its a lot lol.

02.01.2022 Just a short 10 km walk in a local attraction and a pleasant day in Holwell Gorge

02.01.2022 Well day 4 and on way home, up at 4.30 am for a 5 hr drive, more rain, then an hour in a snow storm and its spring lol, then more rain and another snow storm, who said the weather was dangerous down here. And glad not to have 25 kg pack on anymore lol.

01.01.2022 Well I have all my shelter, sleeping and cooking all sorted, weighing in at just over 4.07 kg, so I am pleased as it is about as low as i can get for the moment. Today i am going to do a test camp nearby to set it up.
