24.01.2022 I've added a new gallery to my website to show my modelling pursuits that tend to use techniques and inspirations relevent to my art. Art - what even is that? Also, friends who fear Facebook can view some of my current leisure pursuits from a long, long social distance. That's a very small, though signficant, audience. Arguably it's neither artsy or professional, but I'm paying for it not the thought police. http://www.briansmithart.com.au/moose--models.html

20.01.2022 Time to get productive? In my mind the character models for my picture book are about set, although the style and media might shift from heavy pencils. These 1:1 sketches were enough to reveal that usefully larger illustrations will need a more time effective style. The struggle begins.

17.01.2022 "Kampfente 1918" Another polymer sculpture, this time related to the 'Frank' body of work. I'm not sure this needed to exist, but it was fun to build and apply basic plastic modelling techniques to it. In the raw form it resembles a staggeringly unpopular Easter surprise. At least it's something that is approved for display inside the house.

15.01.2022 Art has been sidelined by ill-health lately and for the future, but I'll push to do something! Having discovered 'Sculpey' clay I had a crack at 3d modelling with a favourite subject: Mr Punch, supported by wife and a 'plague doctor'. Each is about 11 cm tall, built over a wire and foil frame, painted with acrylic and oils and mounted on a steel plinth. The Sculpey III was a bit softer than I would have liked: I expect the Premo will be easier to work with. Sculpture is very engaging - who'd have thought?
