25.01.2022 Hello to all that follow my racing here, and via the TeamBWR page. Firstly, sorry for the lack of race day updates from Round 3 of the Southern Downs and Queen...sland Road Race Championships that took place 4/5/6th of September. A few of you asked if we were ok as there were no race by race updates and my apologies, but we'll return to race day updates at the next round. Why the lack of updates? Well tbh, the day kind of got to me a bit, which is most definitely not me! I rejoined racing after a long break, for the fun of it and at the last round on Friday and Saturday, it wasn't feeling like much fun to me. It wasn't the people or the races, it was me feeling frustrated, not feeling like I was riding well and heaping to much thought, pressure and then nerves onto myself. Weirdly after near 25 years of racing it was strange to feel a bit like 'hmmmm....not enjoying this!' So on Saturday I had a little sit down, think and reset and we're back 'on track'. The important bit: Overall we had a great weekend and left the meeting with extended leads in both the Formula 2 (600cc) and Pre2k F2 classes. In Formula 2 there were a few new entries to our class and a few youngsters who have really stepped up to the pace in F2 from being front runners nationally in the lower classes. I could match some of their pace in Rd2 but this time they were a second or more faster per lap and my races were for the lead of the 'locals' still fighting out the championship. My starts still leave a lot be desired but overall 6th/6th/7th/3rd were a good set of results for the points. In the last race on sunday i went to the grid with a focus and rode how I know I can and should, good passes and feeling confident with the bike! I crossed the line and probably looked like I was a happy winner but it was just great to feel like I rode well for the first time in the weekend! I arrived back to the garage feeling much more like my usual self! In Pre2k F2 it was another clean sweep of pole position, 4 wins and fastest lap of the weekend and after the last F2 race i went to the final race of the weekend with a determined head on and set my fastest lap of the weekend in that class finishing 2nd on the road in the mixed grid, beating all the F1 (1000cc) clubman bikes and 2nd on the road to only a 1000 Pre2k F1 bike. In this class, I've won every race this year and hoping that I clean sweep the season by winning at Round 4. So, with one round to go I lead two separate championships and head into the final round of the year with a good chance to secure both. Nothing is for sure and theres still 4 races and 100 points up for grab but I'm hoping all goes well. Thanks to Nisey Wood for being everything.....Pit Crew, Timing, Motivator and the best wife in the entire WORLD! Thanks to RBM Racing at Geebung and Gary Dolphin for the prep of the bikes that ran faultlessly! Thanks to Robert Orr for his sponsorship of a set of Pirelli Tyres that we used on the Pre2k bike to take the wins. Really appreciated Rob!! On track pics by Lori Marie of Images Everything If anyone else might be interested in maybe helping us out at the last round with a set of tyres for each bike, to win the two championships, you could hopefully come and watch and be part of the day or get a big mention here and get a name on a bike.....?

24.01.2022 Todays the last day until our 2016 Yamaha R6 bike goes off tomorrow to its new home. The bike has been superb in the near 3 years since we bought it and this year, it won the Southern Downs Formula 2 (600cc) race series. The bike has been faultless through all its races and thats down to the meticulous preparation and support its had from Gary Dolphin at RBM Racing at Geebung. ... Its sad to see it go but we move on next year to Formula 1 (1000cc) with our new (for us) Yamaha R1 Superbike and our first time back on a 1000cc race bike for some 18 years So today there are 3 TeamBWR race bikes and a chance to picture them all together before one leaves This season has been superb with two Championship wins, 20 race wins and a lap record and......well, i guess it formally ends here with the departure of one of the bikes. As ever, thanks to all that supported the bike: Nisey Wood Buddha's Motorcycle Spray Painting XXX Rated Race Suspension Plug-a-Lug Hearing Protection Robert Orr

20.01.2022 An update on our season 2021 Yamaha R1 race bike. The bike was stripped of its bodywork and thats been repainted by Buddha's Motorcycle Spray Painting while the bike has been at RBM Racing at Geebung getting some fettling, ready for our first test day. All being well, the bike will be at Morgan Park on Friday 6th for its first shake down when we can get to set up bar positions etc and have a play with some settings.... The new paint scheme with be added to with sponsor decals soon and some blue highlights but the bike is looking fantastic in black and blue.

18.01.2022 While we’re still preparing for Round 4 and both our bikes have been delivered to RBM Racing at Geebung today, our thoughts are starting to be formed about the 2021 season. Its been 20 years since our last Superbike season when we ran a 1999 Yamaha R1 in the MRO Series in the UK plus a few club race wins at various circuits. While we’ll continue to run in the Pre2k F2 class with our Yamaha R6.....the Yamaha R1M is tempting.... Watch this space

18.01.2022 Good morning everyone and welcome to race day 2 at round 1 of the Queensland and Southern Downs road race championships. Yesterday we took two wins in the Formula 2 Pre2k class and a 6th in the Formula 2 to extend the championship leads in both classes. Our 2nd Formula 2 race was delayed and run as the first race of this morning and we’ve grabbed a 5th in that race to again add to the championship points lead.... The weather today is cold but less windy than yesterday and we’re looking forward to a good days racing. Thanks to Robert Orr at this round for his generous support in supplying a new set of Pirelli slicks to us RBM Racing at Geebung

16.01.2022 Its been a long wait for news of our next race meeting and while its still two months away.....we have a date!

15.01.2022 Really disappointed for Rhys Hardisty and RHRacing who we support to ride at the Isle of Man TT. The race has been cancelled due the issues around Covid-19 and its the centre of plans for Rhys every year. While its hugely disappointing, its time to look to 2021 and putting the best package and bikes together for the next TT.

14.01.2022 F2 Race start from Pole Position

13.01.2022 Hello to all who follow the page and its been quiet for a while as racing has been on hold for months due to Covid 19 We’re hoping that the gradual relaxation of the Covid 19 restrictions in Australia will allow racing to return for Round 3 of our championship in August. Both our race bikes are ready to go but yesterday they went off to Barrys dyno where Barry, and Mark from Suncoast Powerhouse Dyno-Tuning were set to check the F2 (2016) bike in terms of its health and map...ping, and for the Pre2k bike to have its jetting looked at. The Pre2k Yamaha R6 has won all but one of its races last season and this but has never ‘felt’ right so it was with interest that we left it with Barry and Mark to see what run 1 showed and then what they could do to the jetting on the carbs. In the early afternoon the first phone call was to report a very healthy F2 bike and some small gains in power but to also say ‘how the hell do you race the old bike?.......its terrible!’ Barry and Mark set about the Pre2k bike and just after 7pm I got the call from a very happy Mark saying ‘mate, your bike is smoking!’ I thought this meant it had gone pop but actually he said ‘its the best numbers we’ve seen on a carbed R6!’ A vastly improved power curve and big improvements in power and torque! So today we picked them both up and now its just a waiting game until we get to try them both on track. RBM Racing at Geebung

13.01.2022 Good Morning all and a little update. Today we’re at Morgan Park testing our 2021 season race bike. The new bike is a Yamaha R1 (1000cc Superbike) and its a big change from our R6’s (600cc). ... Today is the first time Brian has ridden it and its about us finding some comfy pace and settings and learning about the bike. The aim for the day is to get close to our season race times of the R6 and after just 15 laps we’re almost matching our normal practice day pace of the R6. Lots of learning to do in terms of how to ride this bike but.....WOW this thing is FAST!!!!

12.01.2022 So a bit of an update on our planned outing in the Supersport 600 class as ASBK. Seems like I'm welcome to join the grid in November and had a nice chat today with ASBK team about our entry and we're now on the competitors mailing list for updates on how the racing situation develops or changes with Covid 19. So, the planning. ... Its going to FUN first and an enjoyable weekend is planned where we can enjoy the day, the racing and hopefully a respectable result. Hoping a bunch of you who follow us and live locally can get out to Morgan Park, stop by our garage or pit area and say hi. We're going to try and involve as many people as we can in our efforts and are seeking help to fund this adventure. We're HUGELY grateful to Robert Orr for offering to cover one of the (likely) four sets of tyres we'll need over the race weekend and being one of the first contributors to the weekend. Gary at RBM Racing at Geebung has offered his time to look after the mechanics for the bikes and we have a few people offering to help us out in the paddock for the weekend and even a potential brolly dolly in Dafydd Owen but (no offence mate) i think we might look to a few other candidates for that role....lol Our normal race season re-commences on 22nd August and we'll be out to try and defend our championship leads but super excited about this ASBK opportunity. If you're interested in helping us out with the funding or coming along to say Hi....please let us know and LETS Go RACING!

12.01.2022 Update from the pit crew (aka Nisey) we are packed up and on the way home. Best weekend ever, 8 wins from 8 starts. Full report to follow

12.01.2022 Hello all and welcome to Round 2 of the Queensland and Southern Downs Road Race Series at Morgan Park, Warwick. We’re finally back racing after the Covid 19 delays but I say that with worry as this morning the Govt has announced the return of restrictions. All the spectators have just been asked to leave, the gates have been closed and I’m doubtful we’ll get to race. We have managed to get Qualifying underway and we’re on pole for Pre2k Formula 2 and just finished formula 2 w...here we’re 4th on the grid after a busy session traffic wise. So, fingers crossed at the moment that we get to race.

11.01.2022 Hello to everyone from Race Day 1 at the Pirelli Southern Downs Road Race series. We’re at Morgan Park, Warwick, Queensland and season 2020 starts today. This season we’re hoping to defend our Pre2k Formula 2 Championship wins of 2019 and the morning qualifying has gone well with pole position in class on the Pre2k (600cc) Yamaha R6. Thats 6 pole positions in a row now on the old bike ... In F2 (600cc) on our 2016 Yamaha R6 we’ve also secured pole for the first time. Our pole lap time of 1.20.8 is over a second off Brians PB of 1.19.5 but its 1.2secs faster than the 2nd placed rider. So we’re on pole for our 1st races today RBM Racing - Race Build Maintain

11.01.2022 Hello all, its two weeks until we’ll be on track again at Morgan Park for the final round of the 2020 Southern Downs and Queensland Road Race championships. Going into the last round nothing is assured but....we’re currently leading the F2 (600cc) by 35 points and the Pre2k F2 championship by 70 points. There is 100 points up to grab in each class. Anything can happen in a race meeting but we’re in a good position and hopefully can get some good points finishes across the 4 r...aces in each class and try to maintain our championship lead. Today the bikes had a clean and.....they look ok from a few metres away but really, they need a refresh of their paintwork and then decals. We’d like to try and get it all done before round 4. If theres anyone out there that follows our page or might know someone who’s ‘might’ be interested in repainted our bikes in return for their name being on the bikes and our page, please PM us here, add a relpy or call/text on 0481 013 160. The other idea is maybe getting the fairings wrapped in vinyl so again if any of our followers knows someone The countdown to Round 4 is on. RBM Racing at Geebung will be once again prepping the bikes mechanically ready for the event. Huge thanks to Gary at RBM who’s helping us out with a set of race tyres for the Pre2k bike for round 4! If anyone is interested in sponsoring the set of tyres for the F2 bike, please pm us. Round 4 we hope will also see the restrictions on crowd numbers lifted so hopefully a few of you can come along and support us!

10.01.2022 While we get to planning for the restart of Motorcycle racing, the TeamBWR Equestrian rider Aimee Alys Wood has been busy training for the restart of the local Eventing season. Yesterday she took her riding to a new level during a training with ex Olympian team rider for Australia; Rebel Morrow. With her new horse of just 4 weeks, Melman, she took on some HUGE jumps and the one pictured being the biggest. ... Awesome work Aimee! ** see comments for a video **

09.01.2022 Big thanks to Rob and Wendy White at Plug-a-Lug Hearing Protection for the new custom moulded race earplugs that arrived today. The fit of the old version was great but these new models of their earplugs are superb! The team are always in the The Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD race paddocks but also do industrial hearing protection and you can check them out on facebook or at their webpage : https://plugalug.com.au The Plug-a-Lug logo will also be out on track on our bikes for the next round of the championship

09.01.2022 Race 2 from a sunny Morgan Park. Today is just racing and grid positions are based on the Race 1 finishing order from Saturday. This means after converting pole position in qualifying into race wins in both classes, we’re on pole for both classes today So, straight into it and Pre2k was first race of our day. A good start meant we held the lead into T1 and then pulled away from the field to secure a near 16 second win ... The race wasn’t without a bit of drama though as the Formula 1 clubman series is racing as a class within the same grid. The modern 1000cc Superbikes storm away on the straights but our nimble 20 year old 600 catches them in the twisty bits. At T3 brian nearly ran into the back of one of them mid corner, sat up and ran wide but stayed on. So its 3 wins from 3 starts in Pre2k

07.01.2022 Our TeamBWR support includes the Equestrian exploits of Aimee Alys Wood as she finds her way in her sport. This year has been a difficult one for Aimee but its ended on the highest possible note with her winning the Queensland State Championships! This year has been a VERY successful one!

06.01.2022 Its with major disappointment that we’ve been advised by the team at ASBK that the Morgan Park round we were planning to ride at in November has been cancelled due to the changes announced recently in inter state travel/access. Thanks to those that offered to help TeamBWR at this event, it would have been fun to compete in the Australian Championship round but it was not to be.

06.01.2022 Hello to all that follow our TeamBWR page and we have some news...... a crazy idea but we'll see how it progresses in the next few weeks. This season, with Covid 19 our race season has seen lots of date changes thats resulted in the Australian Superbike Series running its event at Morgan Park after the last round of our planned race season. So, we're thinking of putting a plan together to enter the Morgan Park round of the ASBK 600cc Supersport series.... Its going to be a challenge for sure and we'll need some help to enter and run our bike for the weekend but...its an idea.....and an exciting one. The event is 6-8th November and will 20 years after our last outing in British Supersport. We have 4 months to prepare and organise some help as we're going to try and get some pit box/grid helpers for the weekend and also get the bikes painted and hopefully find a few people to assist with the tyre funds/entries etc but those ideas will be developed soon. So.... TeamBWR and RBM Racing at Geebung and others 'might' be going racing at ASBK.

03.01.2022 Its TeamBWR relax time at Merrilees in Warwick after our most successful race day since returning to racing (just for fun) in 2018. 4 comfortable wins from 4 starts and our Yamaha R6’s that are maintained by RBM Racing ran faultlessly all day. Chris from XXX Rated Race Suspension checked in on us but the suspension he built us is spot on! Hopefully tmrw we add some good finishes to todays results but for now.....CHEERS ALL!
