25.01.2022 Today our formal application to Moreton Bay Regional Council to approve the construction of Webster Place was lodged. It's a huge step for us. We feel confident about the outcome after working on the vision for a year with our expert architects. We know we have the support of many people in this community, as well as our local government representatives.

16.01.2022 In August 2009 the Association entered into an agreement with Churches of Christ Care in Bribie Island to fund the purpose built Hospice Suite. Since signing the agreement we have assisted many families in our community who needed end of life care for a loved one. That we are able to offer professional care in this beautiful, private suite is testament to the many local people who donate or dedicate time to our fundraising.

14.01.2022 This is a significant milestone for the Webster Place project. The Public Notification period begins today for our application to MBRC for Material Change of Use of this parcel of land. Close neighbours were notified before the signs went up out of courtesy.

14.01.2022 Do you know that "Hospice" owns Boronia Cottage in Bellara? The Hospice Association was formed in 1997 and helped many people in Bribie with in-home respite and palliative care. In early 2003 the association purchased the house where short term residential respite was offered. The mortgage was paid off entirely through fundraising, a remarkable effort.

12.01.2022 By 2010 the Association had raised almost enough to rebuild Boronia Cottage to a modern, accessible four bedroom home. With the assistance of a Federal Government grant we demolished Old Boronia Cottage and engaged a well respected local builder to build New Boronia Cottage in 2012. The new home, managed by Suncare, is very popular for short term respite.

10.01.2022 Webster Place in Bongaree, Bribie Island, is the next building project undertaken by Bribie-Moreton Hospice Health Services Inc. We are working with our specialist architect to design a unique residence for people who need support to live well.

07.01.2022 We are pleased to advise that our Development Application to MBRC for a Material Change of Use, lodged mid 2019, has been formally approved. There were no public objections lodged against the MCU. When we raise the necessary few $squillion we can build our unique residence! Our sincere thanks are extended to the MBRC Planning Department who were supportive during the entire application process, our Town Planner Elizabeth for her professional hard work, and to Cr Brooke Savige for her active support for our project.

07.01.2022 Meet Joan and her best friend Bailey. Joan has been a volunteer with the Association for 22 years. In the early days Joan was one of the many volunteers who raised funds for in-home care services, then to support the services at Boronia Cottage. Joan has remained active in many roles over the years with the Association, presently helping with the coach trips. Joan cares for her amazing jungle garden with very little help. We're looking forward to having Joan's help with our fundraising for Webster Place.

07.01.2022 Woohoo! Our one day only Long Day Saturday sale went very, very well to day. Many thanks to Manager Nell, to the morning shift volunteers Gayle, Cheryl and Deb, and to the afternoon crew Lyn and Adrienne. Thanks Val for your sewing and jam making. They were a hit. We have an excellent contribution to the fundraising, and many more people have learned about Webster Place. Great effort ladies!

07.01.2022 At a primary school cross country race on a rather hot day, there were two little 5 year old girls running together at the tail end of the pack. One was clearly struggling with the 1 kilometre jog, but her Bestie was by her side all the way. With about 150 meters to go Bestie took her friend by the hand and yelled "Come on Elly! We can do it. We're nearly there!" She didn't say "you", she said "we". They were together all the way to the finish line. Marvellous.
