23.01.2022 For the past 5 years, Locals Only has participated in the "Shave for a Cure" Leukemia fundraiser which is usually held in March and we've had some very lovely and generous people helping to raise funds for this great cause. This year, however, we are going to raise funds for another great cause. One of our well known local identities and much loved larrikin, has not been travelling too well, health wise, and at a time when he/she should be enjoying everything that life has t...o offer. We have decided to raise some funds to help out a little, by holding "A Shave 4 A Mate" at the next Locals Only Show on the 25th March at Blueys Hotel between 1pm and 5pm. At present, there are 5 blokes willing to shave their beards off for this great cause. Around 4.30 -5pm, the management at Blueys will total up the funds raised and present it to the recipient, who shall remain nameless until the day of the shave. We truly think that this person, on the days when they're feeling down, will remember that they are much loved by the Local community. #bribielocalsonly

21.01.2022 A huge shout out to these fellas for helping out last month. Dan Burns Rohn Butler Solo We couldn't have done it without you and love that Locals Only is constantly building people's confidence and connecting the community, which was why we started. Here's to growing young people! Thanks to Dave Moore for the great shot! #bribielocalsonly #localsonly #localmusic

20.01.2022 Next Locals show will be on 29th April from 1-5pm. See you there. Keep it Local. Another wild and wooly day in the Blueys beer garden last Sunday at Locals Only (March 2018).... The show got off to a great start with the WhamBam ThankYou Band and a stand in drummer, Paul Humphries sitting in for the day. The two teenagers from Bribie High, Bella Hughes and crowd favourite, Paige Montgomery, showing the crowd what a little determination, some confidence and, a great deal of rehearsal can do. Both young ladies 'wowed' the crowd with their respective sets. Another artist, Wally the Bush poet, entertained us all with his original and very humorous bush poems. As the rain began to come down, Malcolm Smith, grabbed his guitar and sang acoustically on the verandah to the delight of patrons, eventually ending his set back on stage with the PA going again. Thanks Malcom, for keeping the mob entertained while the electrical stuff was being covered up. An old mate of Locals Only, TJ Mack, who very rarely gets a Sunday off, came to play..and play he did. He's a really great performer and Blueys is hoping to get him for one of the Friday night gigs in the next month or so.... ...then the rain came down...so the Shave 4 A Mate was then organised. Once again, the Blueys audience dug deep, not only for the Shave, but the Glenn McGrath breast cancer appeal. 5 beards were shaved and another just trimmed by the ladies, Kelly and Maria from the Straight Edge Cutting Bar in Bongaree amid chaotic circumstances. The Shave managed to raise around $800 which was a great help to the recipients. Photos were taken by Deb Neill Photography, and can be seen either on her facebook page or here at the Bribie Locals Only page.. We would also like to acknowledge the valuable assistance from Flying Fingers Typing Services and our friends at Victory Press who did a wonderful job with the Posters. Next Locals show will be on 29th April from 1-5pm. See you there. Keep it Local.

01.01.2022 This Saturday, Jay Jarome Bushby, one of Locals' favourite sons, is doing a one off gig at Blue Pacific Hotel - Bribie Island Blueys, from 2pm-6pm. He is a spectacular performer and one of my personal favorites. Originally from Bribie, and travelling all the way from Tassy on tour.
